Downgrade to Windows XP with Windows 7?

Without decommissioning

I am looking to buy windows 7 Professional, mainly because of its ease to downgrade to xp pro. But I have a request.

1ST QUARTER)
When I install windows7 prof. While you can do this downgrade - 1 for xp professional, then use xp for some time (like 2 months for eg.) then uninstall xp and start using Windows 7 prof.

Now... can I go back to using xp again after using win 7 Prof for say 1 month? (for this I'll remove win 7 pro and then only use xp)

I mean, once I returned to win7 pro, can I go back to using xp again (ie. downgrade again again to xp)? (provided only 1 OS is currently on the computer at the same time)?

Looking for the correct information.

Is this true? If I buy a license to retail, cant I go down to use xp?

I can do that when I buy a new pc or laptop with win 7 pro installed? Then its so bad for what I thought.

And on the xp mode - I don't want to do that at all.

Q1 (first sentence): no if you get a retail license, you have no right to demotion.

Q2: Yes, if you buy a preinstalled OEM Windows 7 Professional machine, you have right to demotion (as related to in my reply explains the downgrade rights.)

Too bad?  Yes, I see that.

If you do not want to use the Windows XP Mode, will not be in a field and do not need encryption - you have probably spend extra to get Windows 7 Professional when Home Premium would probably do what you just fine.  Check out the details about the differences here.

What is the reasoning behind your need to have Windows XP and Windows 7?  You can try and get a license for Windows XP and dual boot - in this way, you have two worlds, on computer, no virtual machine and are completely legal.

No, you can't downgrade. But you can probably * clean install * Windows XP.

I say "probably" because there is a potential problem with drivers XP being available for all hardware. If the computer is a laptop, this risk is greater. So check with the manufacturer or on their web site to make sure that all the drivers you need do not exist for XP.

I have a Pavillion b1000 15 t with a intel 13chipset and the need for this downgrade from Windows 8 to 7 is a set of guidelines for this computer to downgrade

    WARNING *.

HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 on a computer comes with Windows 8, and it will support the installation of Windows 7. HP cannot provide the drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer. In addition, Windows 7 can not take in charge some of the hardware or software designed for the computer.

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

Your computer does not have Microsoft's Downgrade rights and you must buy a copy of Windows 7 with a valid Microsoft COA and product key.

The screenshots below is from a laptop HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install Windows 7 from a USB and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto', if this option is available.

In addition, as the factory hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own disc of Windows 7 SP1. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

    From the top...

Download f6flpy-x 64.zip, extract the files/folders and place it on a USB Flash drive.

    (1) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (2) when the MENU is displayed, press "F10".

    3) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", 'USB 3.0 pré-OS Config' and the value 'Auto '.

    4) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", "Startup Options" and "Secure Boot" the value 'Legacy Support' the value "Enabled" and "Disabled"

    5) press "F10" and click "YES" to "Exit Saving Changes".

    (6) computer should restart and display "Change of operating system startup Mode"... type the four digit code, then press "ENTER".

    (7) let Windows 8 boot to the top and put the Windows 7 SP1media in the drive to DVD or a USB port, then logout / stop.

    (8) to turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (9) when the MENU is displayed, press the key "F9" and then select the correct boot UEFI source (CD/DVD drive internal, USB drive, CD/DVD, USB Flash drive, etc.). ... Press any key to start the CD/DVD, if prompted.

    (10) select "Language", "time / currency ' and 'Keyboard' settings and then click"Next ".

    11) click on 'install now '... Check "Accept terms" and click "next". Click on "Custom (Advanced)".

    (12) you may need to provide Intel SATA/RAID drivers at the moment...  Insert the USB Flash drive with drivers Intel SATA\RAID previously extracted.

    (13) follow all instructions and meet the need. Enter the Windows 7 key when asked.

Many 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 from the HP ENVY 15 t-j100 CTO Notebook PC drivers of Quad Edition page should work on your computer (DO NOT use any BIOS or FIRMWARE downloads). Please post (text only) Windows Device Manager "Hardware ID" all missing and/or unknown devices as shown in the example below, and we can direct you to the correct drivers.

I have installation disc n I acquired in a tech store were and how could I get an activation key and how muuch do it costs

    Hello

First thing to do is to make sure that the PC manufacturer supports and office supplies Windows 7 drivers for this PC.

If it is not Windows 7 will not install and work properly for you.

Microsoft sells more than Windows 7.

    Try Amazon.com.

And a word of warning: do NOT buy key product for themselves because they can be stolen or pirated.

Buy the complete sealed package: DVD, product key/license, etc.

  • 14 - d056tu laptop HP: Downgrade to Windows 7

I bought HP 14-d056tu Notebook PC a few months back, I'm not comfortable with windows 8.1, so I want it downgrade to Windows 7. The more sad about this is, I bought this laptop based Thailand on a site online in India and now moved to Australia. can anyone help me please with the decommissioning process.

    Hi Vishal,

I would like to start by saying Downgrade to Windows 7 would not be a good option, because once you switch to Windows 7, find the drivers for Windows 7 will be a huge and difficult task as this laptop goes with 8.1 Windows only.

And Windows 8.1 is a very good and secure OS. To remedy this I suggest you to install software that will host the feel of Windows 7.

See the link below to install classic Shell software:

    the classic interface software

Note: It is a third-party site so if your not comfortable using or by downloading the software from this site, then please do not continue.

  • Satellite C850D - Downgrade from Windows 8

I have a Satellite C850D, which was shipped with Windows 8. I want this downgrade to Windows 7. I have a Windows 7 DVD, but when I try and install it I get is an error message indicating that there is an error with one of the startup files.

Is it possible to install Windows 7 on a computer that came with Windows 8, and how to remove the OEM of Windows 8 version and replace it with Windows 7.

    Any help/advice would be appreciated.

    Sean

    Hi Sean

Yes, it is possible to install Windows 7 and other systems. But this requires some changes in the BIOS.
You must disable secure boot and go the CSM UEFI.
As far as I know after changing two options, you should be able to boot from the Windows disc.

  • I can't use the Wi - Fi after downgrading my windows!

Hello, I'm Loh. Today, I have a problem on my computer laptop that is why I would like to ask you this question.

I bought the new laptop HP, which is 'HP Pavilion 15-p031tx Notebook PC Drivers' and at first by default, Windows 8.1 was unique language, which was not enabled, in my laptop. Then I want to use the functionality of windows 8, I downgraded to windows 8 pro with the spark of dream. After that, I realized that I can't connect to the internet and I saw computer manager, there is no network drivers in my laptop!

So now I would like to download the driver for windows 8 pro wifi adapter. But I could not find where and how. I need your help as soon as possible.

The controller material properties in my laptop network ID are

    PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & CC_0280

    You are the very welcome.

If you have a Broadcom wireless card then you will need to use the wireless Broadcom for W8.1 driver

Not sure why it does not work. I don't think it matters if you run W8.1 or W8.1 Pro on your machine.

    The drivers are the same.

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 to Windows Vista

    Hello

I want to ask something about the downgrade from Windows 7 to Windows Vista Edition Home Premium!

My laptop is Satellite L510. When I bought it, it came with Windows Vista Home Premium as its OS so I already created a recovery disk.
Now, if I update to Windows 7 and if I want to downgrade to window Vista... often I just use this recovery disc to format to Windows Vista everything as before?

Because they do not have the Windows Vista installation disk when I bought this laptop.
And I want to ask now the window Vista already got a healthy recovery partition in my right HDdrive? If I update to Windows 7 then did the Window Vista healthy recovery partition is still there, or only the restore disc that I create before you reformat Windows Vista Home Premium box?

Thanks to all who try to answer my question!

All new laptops are shipped without DVD upgraders and everyone must create one. This is why Toshiba has designed small Creator called Toshiba Recovery tool. With this tool you can create recovery DVDs and use them for the installation of the OS more far.

Whenever when you use, you'll have to factory settings and it will be like on the first day when launch you for the first time.

When you have this recovery media, you can do whatever you want and, of course, install Win7 with HARD drive. One day, when you want to have Vista again just use created recovery DVD and you will have factory again.

When you bought your laptop recovery image was recorded on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder called HDDRecovery. This image can be used to install Vista with the factory only settings. When you install Win7 these files can no longer be used and Vista must be installed from recovery created DVDs.

Hi, I'm James.  I want to downgrade to Windows 7.  I have Windows 8.1 and I hate it.  I have a HP Pavilion 2297nr g7.  I bought refurbished on Ebay and it came to me with Windows 7.  I upgraded to Windows 8 and was sorry I did.  I would like to know how can I downgrade to Windows 7 and also get the right drivers.  Can someone help me?

    Hello:

First of all, read this document for the BIOS settings change so that you can install and continue running W7.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03736054

After you have installed windows 7 x 64, the first pilot, you need to install is the amd chipset drivers.

You want the first driver on the Web page. To install the smbus and usb 3 controllers.

    http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows%207%20-%2064

Then, all the W7 x 64 drivers and the software of this model will work also on your own, except the wireless driver.

DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE OF THIS MODEL

    can someone help me?
    Thank you

I checked the - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp - Toshiba download page first to see if your machine is supported for Win7. Yes. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities can be downloaded.

Generally installation Win7 should not be so problematic. Are you using the original installation disk Microsoft Win7?
To be honest I don't understand what is happening with your machine and the BIOS.

You find useful instructions on changing mode BIOS - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm

What happen exactly when you change the boot mode? Can start Windows installation?

Good day and welcome to the community.

As you mention that you created the recovery media and it fails to restore your system with Win7 preload delivered, I would recommend that you contact the Service, let them know that your created set failed to work and ask that they provide you with a set of factory recovery DVDs. The details are below.

Hope that helps you get things sorted.

I am looking for the hp support site and they only drivers for windows 10

-that someone tried this with success

    Thank you

    Rudi

Before you change or change anything, please create your personal HP recovery media.

You'll need a new copy of Windows 7 64-bit with a Microsoft COA and a figure of 25 unused/valid key PID from Microsoft. Windows 7 DVD may not work properly on UEFI-based systems, this is why you may need to create a FAT32 UEFI USB Windows 7 for Windows 7 installation key to install correctly.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer may ask that you confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

After installing Windows 7, you will need to install any drivers necessary before being fully functional. Most of the Windows 7 drivers on the page of software and the driver HP Pavilion Notebook-15z ab000 CTO - should work on your computer. Please do not use any BIOS or Firmware from this page.

Thanks for posting (text only) Windows Device Manager "Hardware ID" for all the remaining of the missing and/or unknown devices, as shown in the example below, and we can direct you to the correct drivers.

Hi all, I bought my mother a 23-b239 Pavilion all in one office.
She can not just get used to Windows 8.

I would really know if it is possible to downgrade to Windows 7, and if someone could
    kindly tell me:

    • A profile of my hardware information
    • Where can I get the drivers I need.

    HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 on a computer comes with Windows 8, and it will support the installation of Windows 7. HP doesn't provide drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer.     This computer is a model of consumption with no Pro Windows 8 version, there is no right to demotion. First, you will need to purchase a valid copy of Windows 7 with a product key and COA. You also need to ENABLE 'Secure Boot' and maybe 'Legacy Support' in the 'BIOS Setup boot secured' on the settings page below, before you try to install Windows 7;

    or

Also, as the hard disk can be partitioned as TPG, you must start the computer by using the "UEFI - CD/DVD drive" or "UEFI - USB Flash drive" options in the boot menu "F9". If "UEFI - CD/DVD drive", "UEFI - USB Flash drive" or something to that effect does not exist in the start menu, please post a screenshot and/or make startup listed options.
