Downgrading to XP Pro on New HP m9400f

More long story-short version...

Due to some production software that will work in XP 32 bit enviornment - I was forced to-reformat and reinstall Vista x 64 Home with XP Pro 32-bit.

OK-says, I managed to-re - install all devices - EXCEPT sound. I had a similar experience with the new HP 8000 series towers. Now, I know it's install a pilot part 2... There are (2) devices in Device Manager that no area or are unknown. The driver download from the HP Web site for this model M9400F will only support Vista drivers of course. I can't seem to find the info mfg or data on this soundboard integrated, can someone help me get the sound works on XP Pro sp3? The Vista driver is listed as

Fall 2008 Original Realtek High Definition Audio Driver

It sounds easy enough to go to Realtek website and manually download a driver from the homepage to Realtek... I failed at that. I'm very savy, but I don't know what to do at this point... Help me please...

I found the answer!

The reason why the sound does not work IS - SP3! Thank you to the edge of your hand!

Update Microsoft QFE (KB835221) to support the UAA Bus Driver

There was no clear link to me that the question was related to SP3 until you've mentioned. I have done some research and found that Microsoft had been delayed for awhile to publish an update for this, but the problem is definitely related to SP3 and the drivers not being is not in the update package.

Thank you very much for your help!

  • Devices Satellite Pro L300D-110 - downgrading to XP Pro - HARD drive missing?

Hello to everyone in the Toshibe Satellite Pro - my first post forum.

I was one proud owner of other portable Tosh without any problem, but this time, I'm miserable: (o)

For professional use a few days ago, we bought a laptop Satellite Pro L300D 110 (AMD Athlon Dual Core). We bought it with the understanding that it could be brought back to XP Pro - mainly because some of the software that we use on a daily basis does not work reliably on Vista, but also because all other laptops to desktop computers in our network (including a WLAN) all running XP Pro, adding another machine that it should have been easy.

The need to do so has been confirmed by the fact, nevertheless, I tried, we could just not get the new Toshiba L300D connection through our routers so that under Vista. At the same time, we also bought a new Dell with no o/s. I installed a new copy of XP Pro SP2 OEM - and it runs under the sweet as a nut! Sorry, I digress:

I reduced the L300D to XP Pro very well using the XP Pro provided - Toshiba Recovery disk no problem at all. I had the computer connected to the network too, but then I realized that the DVD (Pioneer DVD - RW DVRTD08A ATA) is not found by Windows.

Logged in the BIOS setup - Yes, he was listed there OK, but tried some tongs and tricks I have learned over the years, I still couldn't XP Pro to the discovery of the device.

I have now reinstalled Vista on the machine and he found the DVD burner.

If it's a PC, I shut down the computer, open the case, disconnect the writer, start, stop, reconnect the device, close case and bingo. But not with perhaps a laptop...

Someone has ideas how (reliable!) downgrade to XP Pro without devices being endangered? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have two copies again more XP Pro SP2 at my disposal, if that's any use.

    Kind regards

    David

    (> I'm happy again now: o)
    Great to hear that!

    Just for info:
The most recent series of portable supports the newer SATA HDD controllers and so the operating system can be installed if the SATA drivers are not included and preinstalled.

So if you want to use the SATA features you must first install the SATA driver.
But you can also activate SATA mode to compatibility mode (in BIOS) and this would install the Win XP without the necessary SATA drivers.

    Good bye

  • Unknown device on X 300 after downgrading to XP Pro

Device Manager indicates an unknown device, possible identifying information is the Device Id of Instance = ROOT\MS_PSCHEDMP\0000. After the downgrade to XP Pro, I have updated all the drivers and the software by using the system update, but the unknown device is still showing. I have not yet tested Wi - Fi, but I think that everything else works fine. Everyone get this problem?

Problem solved (I think), after unknown peripheral uninstall and re-analysis of a new material, it no longer appears.

  • Can I downgrade my Satellite Pro P200 for Windows XP?

    Hello

I bought my Satellite Pro P200 (PSPB7E) a week ago and I love it. I have an unused XP license, so I would like to downgrade.

Is this problem? I don't see xp for a Chicony webcam drivers or the HD-DVD player.
I'd really appreciate some feedback. There must be someone out there who has tried to do.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello

Of course you can downgrade the satellite Pro P200 for Windows XP.

When installing XP, you need to install the Intel Storage Manager. It is a SATA driver that is needed to activate the HARD disk.

    Regarding the webcam driver.
I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and the Chicony webcam driver is certainly available.

The HD DVD driver is not necessary because the Windows XP must use an own ODD driver.

  • Cloning Windows XP Pro to new Hard Drives part 2 (Sysprep.exe)

As you can see, there is a new facet to my original question "cloning Windows XP Pro for new drives (ready to use to backup discs)". ".

Through research, I found some information about "Sysprep" which paved the way for many other questions.

    (1) once my OS is installed and configured the way I like it, it is wise to do a disk with Sysprep image before using software such as Seagate DiskWizard to deploy on the other drives?

    (2) I use WinXP Pro-Retail, updated with Service Pack 3, I typed Sysprep in my Menu/Run dialog start and it is said that Sysprep will not find on my system.

Sysprep needs to be downloaded and installed?     If this is not the case, how do you get?

    Hi EtherStreams,

Thanks for posting. The sysprep you're looking for files on the XP cd in which you have you installed the system. The link below shows the detailed procedure to use the utility. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Drivers for HP Pavilion Entertainment PC running Vista Home Premium, downgrade to XP Pro

I have a laptop HP Pavilion Entertainment PC running Vista Home Premium. Want to downgrade to XP Pro and have an OEM drive to do. Can someone help me find the drivers to complete this process?
    Thank you!

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/support.html

Look at the link above of HP XP drivers.

If the XP drivers are not available for your model, forget the idea.

If Yes, download and save to a CD or Flash drive.

Save all your data because it will be lost during the installation of XP.

Then follow the steps below to do a clean install.

    http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp

Once installed, reload ALL your other programs of original media, or download again.

Reload all drivers and utilities for your motherboard.

  • DownGrade Windows 8 Pro 64 bit on 4540 s HP Probook Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

    Hello

can someone tell me the correct procedure to downgrade pre-installed 64-bit Windows 8 Pro that came on my laptop 4540 s newly purchased to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit? Machine itsself comes not with any media. I also read the key is now also integrated into the BIOS. As I intend to replace the 500 GB HDD with a SSD 250 GB, I would like to re - install windows 7 at the same time. I know that you can download the vanilla windows versions 7 of m6mobile.fr and others and then install but I wanted to know if there was a formal process for HP machines. It would be also good to know that the process of extraction of the COA, so I can activate Windows 7 installation completed.

I am based in the United Kingdom (and an employee of HP)

(it seems I'm not the only one having this problem - I guess this method works http://www.pcworld.com/article/2015107/downgrading-from-windows-8-to-7-what-you-need-to-know.html?pa... )

but before could someone confirm that part "call microsoft" will be ok for me if I have no physical cost... also what can I do if I have not a pro windows 7 product key to enter during the installation of windows 7 - because obviously I intend to use the rights to downgrade to windows 8 pro key!).

    advice appreciated.

    Ad.

    Ok...

so having figured out that I can downgrade sounding MS I took the lead and mounted my new SSD drive and installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Everything is good. What I need now is some of the correct drivers to get me going.

If someone could point me to the right for the following, I'd be grateful so I don't waste time to download everything. My version is HP Probook 4540 s C4Y79EA (i5-3210/4 GB RAM/15.6 inches) model British.

Some of the choices pilot have several versions of pointers to good enjoyed.

It is mainly in the field of the network drivers for the Wifi and fixed ports.

    Thank you.

I determined what hardware is in this model.

    WIFI/Bluetooth - download drivers Ralink

Ethernet card integrated - download the Realtek drivers.

The rest should be pretty straigtforward...

    Cheers.

  • Downgrade to XP Pro Dv9627cl

Bought this 2nd hand computer laptop. He came with a starter of the missing HAL.dll error. Because I'm not a fan of Microsoft Vista, I decided the best thing to do is to load a new copy of XP Pro. The first thing I did was go to the HP Software Support page and drivers for XP and this model. There are very few available records. There was no listed chipset software. No Broadcom WiFi, no graphs or several other drivers the necessary drivers. What was stated is the update of the F.32 BIOS version. My BIOS is currently at version F.07.

Because I wasn't able to get into Windows Installer actually nLite, I advanced with a clean format and install XP Pro. I looked my chipset and it is nForce 560. I downloaded and installed 15.23 chipset nForce drivers, according to the nVidia site. Load successfully and my NETWORK card and other items have been identified and charged. After the reboot, I loaded a Broadcom WiFi driver and utility program. Made me online. I tried to load the BIOS upgrade and received the message that the file is not for my laptop. I tried the audio files listed in step 2 HD (moderate) thread instructions downgrade. It also returned with the error that did not find media for these drivers. Same thing with the grapgics driver. Data sheet says graphics card is GeForce 720. I tried to install the driver nvidia 17.28 package. After opening, it returns the message no device present for these drivers.

I'm stuck. Some drivers seem to work, or I make them out of sequence. I ran the program of automatic detection of HP just to check that someone had slipped a different motherboard in the case. Correctly detects it as dv9627cl.

After an upgrade to SP3 and reboot, device HD audio was detected, and I opted to allow the windows automatically find and install the drivers. Same thing with modem HD. Both been loaded correctly. WooHoo...

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

  • How to downgrade Windows 8 Pro - license keys

In order to exercise my rights to downgrade to Windows 8 Pro for Windows 7 Pro (or business Vista) I need a valid key of Windows 7 Pro. How can I get this key? When I called support license (number of times) I was told that I should use a key of an existing facility, or buy a new one. I explained that by using an existing key (assuming I had a) would have this key reported by Microsoft as invalid, and that buying a whole new license did not exercise my rights under the terms of the license. Time and time again support teams have been unable to provide a solution to this problem.

Looking at the document of conditions of licence, it says:
«Instead of using the Windows Pro 8 software, you can use one of the following versions: Windows 7 Professional or Windows Vista Business.»
    and:
"The manufacturer or installer, nor Microsoft is obliged to provide older versions to you."
My interpretation of this is that Microsoft (and the OEM) will grant the rights for the downgrade, but refuses to give the key needed to do.
How can I get a key to be able to exercise my right of demotion, as stated in the terms of the license?

Hi James, I have been informed by Microsoft that if you get a copy of Windows 7, even if it has been used or granted to another user you can load this copy and use the product key and then call Microsoft explaining you exercise your right of demotion and they will give you an authorization code for the product key that you give them.

What I was not able to do is to correctly load Windows 7, my PC comes up with an error. I wish Microsoft or could someone tell me the exact steps like those that Microsoft have highlighted is incorrect!
