Download emails

How can I change the timetable as to how frequently emails are downloaded on my computer?

My version of Windows Live Mail is 2009 and I am using Windows 7

Is there a specific reason to use the software for five years during the last version for Windows 7 was released in April of this year?

You will find the frequency of polling for new messages to Tools > Options > General. If you don't see the menu bar, press ALT.

  • How can I find downloaded emails that disappeared after the system restore function?

I restored Ubuntu 14.10 at an earlier date, but the previously downloaded emails since my online account after the restored date disappeared. Where can I find them? Data is backed up on a weekly basis.

I have no idea, I suggest you to ask what you actually do on a forum of Ubuntu Linux. My guess is that you have completely replaced the files with the 'old', so the data are missing. Long experience which is anything "System Restore" or "system reset" will lead to nothing other than high blood pressure, gnashing of teeth and the loss data.

  • 31.1.2 Thunderbird will not download emails, nor completely closed

Recently updated Thunderbird updated to 31.1.2. Soon, I noticed that it would not download email. With the help of "Getmail" caused his departure (green progress bar goes above all to the end), but the stalls. He did not get to ask the password (as before).

Thunderbird pick up my email on a Comcast account (or did). Incoming mail is on the Comcast server, readable, but it is not downloaded by Thunderbird.

Thunderbird, sends an e-mail more or less OK, but delayed for a long time (maybe 15 sec) before requesting the password for outgoing, whereas before, it took less than a sec to request the password.

Read the other comments, I suspect that Norton Internet Security (NIS) may be involved. I don't know if NIS also updated recently, but there are many updates of Windows 7 at the same time as the update to Thunderbird. In addition to this problem, restart the PC hangs the computer on each second test, something that so far has been very rare with Win 7 on this PC.

Running in safe MODE has none of these problems. But then, NIS does not work at that time, or a lot of Windows.

From other postings here, I disabled analysis of the NIS emails. This enabled an electronic download about three times, then it stopped working (e-mail scanning is always off, much to the annoyance of NIS).

I noticed too (using Process Explorer) that when a turn off of Thunderbird, he doesn't stop if he got there to download requests. When I restart Thunderbird, I get a new instance of the program in memory.

As another attempt at correction suggested by another assignment, I also added address e-mail accounts to the list "does not parse" in NIS, addresses similar to:

    "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\[randomstring].default\Mail\mail.comcast - 1 .net'.

    It was no help.

    Advice would be appreciated.

You must exclude the ' C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\[randomstring].default file at least. "

Look in NIS to a setting that asks to analyze this only the documents and programs. Recent developments in the AV world see their analysis all files and only bog things down. Thunderbird opens to an index of 4 GB and NIS it scans for the next 10 minutes. (that's about how long it takes to scan a file of 4 GB)
If the machine is older, there may be pending hardware problems. Control (one night) a lot of your time is to defragment the drive. This check for errors and check the integrity of the material supports reading and writing of a large part of it.

There is not much on the page of wiki for anti virus https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird: test: Antivirus_Related_Performance_Issues but it might be worth checking your not not using the proxy for windows mentioned it.

  • Download emails, but I can't get the

I have windows vista.  I wonder about the windows Messaging.  I've always been able to retrieve my emails, but all of a sudden, this has changed.  I watch Download emails in windows mail, then all of a sudden all new mails are gone.  I can't find them in any other folder is to say deleted, junk or anitspam.  I guess I have some kind of virus that steals my emails but I log 2 accounts for my computer and the other works well.  I have mcafee and have disabled my email scanning to see if that's the problem.  I don't know what to do.

In addition, McAfee is known to generate serious problems of WinMail.  See point 3 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 I uninstall it and get something less invasive such as Microsoft Security Essentials (free).  Then you might try to remove the e-mail account (it won't delete the messages) and then closing WinMail and then run the repair of my Windows Mail utility (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) feature and then open WinMail and add your account back once again.

  • When reading emails, said TB connected to the server, but is not download emails

The following suddenly started happening. (Things are working very well for several months on the same account settings).

When I try to retrieve the email from my IMAP e-mail server, there is a message at the bottom that says that Thunderbird is connected to the server, but nothing happens thereafter - no emails are downloaded.
Thunderbird invites me even a password to connect to the IMAP server as it usually does.

However, note that I * can * send emails without problem (via the configured SMTP server).
As well, I have no problem reading the emails on the server even on other customers of emails with same account settings.

The problem started after I upgraded to Thunderbird 38.2.0, an earlier version of a few months back).
Thunderbird prompted me to do the upgrade, and it can have kicked so he was still connecting and authenticating to the IMAP server - which is just speculate offshore.

Any ideas what I can do?

Details of the platform: Thunderbird 38.2.0, Windows 7 x 64, entering via the SSL Protocol IMAP, SMTP outgoing via the SSL protocol

    Thanks in advance

    Glen

Thunderbird 38 is indeed longer than previous versions... See my blog. There are a few things you can do. Ranging from Fix Security broken on the server to a temporary add-on which will establish market if the server hotfix is delayed.

  • Download email slowed significantly from today

Have used this service for years. From today, downloading e-mails slowed down considerably. Download 10 standard emails with no attachments took 4 minutes.

I tested my internet service, and he was aware. Download speed on the base with my ISP account was also OK. The problem is that when you use Mozilla Thunderbird.

I also checked to see that I didn't have tons of old emails, etc. from junk mail, drafts, Appreciate help you.

You have an anti virus scan the emails? disable the restart function and try again.

  • No email after downloading updated 38.1.0 to level; uninstalled, reinstalled 38.1.0 38.0.1 - still unable to download email - and - no new profile not generated with rei

After automatic update to Thunderbird 38.1.0 (PC, Windows 7 OS) - can download is no longer the primary email (server settings: i; card;) SSL/TLS; Password normal); Anti-virus: Sophos; the download is attempted with notice that newly installed Thunderbird 38.0.1 is connected to the server, imap, but email client continues to attempt to download and above all, do not ask for password to download. Old profile copied and replaced after downgrade and install the 38.0.1. Strangely, after installed decommissioning of 38.0.1, no new profile file has been generated in the profile folder (users / * name * / AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles); also, when newly installed launch 38.0.1, the display returns to what seems to be, 38.1.0. A strange situation that I can't solve after 3 uninstalls, installs computer re-boots and 38.0.1. The result appears as if 38.1.0 has never been uninstalled. I would like suggestions. Thank you.

Thank you, smokva - I solved by contacting the staff of the imap server and has been rectified which seems to have fixed the problem at their end. However, my last resort if he fails again, download, create a new profile, as you suggest.

  • Thunderbird downloads emails from the mail server to its own server?

Download Thunderbird and Horus email on its own server, or wiat for pull emails from my mail server until I have connect and download them?

There is no 'server Thunderbird', so that solves the first part of your question.

I don't know what you mean by "log in."

Thunderbird, retrieves all in all, your messages from the server when you tell him, or you can configure it to do periodically.

To access your messages, he must know the username of the e-mail account (very often all or part of your e-mail address) and the corresponding password. If you allow Thunderbird store the password, there is no need even to think of "connection" to the mail server.

I said "basically" because with some IMAP servers, messages seem to be fed to Thunderbird as and when they become available, assuming he is alive and online.

  • not enough memory to download email, have removed many of the emails, emptied the trash, sent files help!

It keeps giving me the message that it can not download my emails because there is not enough memory. I deleted more except the ones I really want to keep. I deleted trash, sent, what we can do. Except keep towards the top with download them every day. I use my Ipad for most. Or how can I get them to download on their own. I go to 'new' and scroll down to my email address to get new emails.

I do not know how to compact files

So I hope you read the article I linked to.

  • Cannot delete the downloaded emails that are in the Inbox

I have a recent but annoying problem with a couple of my email accounts. Mails are downloaded (mostly spam) in my Inbox. I then usually go through each deletion if they are uninteresting. I can't do this now. Remove button click but nothing happens, can not drag to trash either!
I updated the version of Thunderbird I was running but that made no difference. Did the most popular fix = reboot, no difference.

    Any body can help?

    Thank you very much

  • How can I download emails in subfolders of yahoo mail Thunderbird?

I use Thunderbird 31.3.0. Is there a way to download the emails in subfolders of yahoo mail, not only from the Inbox?

IMAP mail downloads all downloads of POP records only the Inbox.

Thunderbird supports both IMAP and POP, is Yahoo.

If you need to add your account again as IMAP.
