Download game service pack.

How can I reinstall a game pack (solitaire, solitaire spider, free cell, etc.) if they ask me to use a disc I own is no longer?

I'm not sure it's possible.  If you have legally purchased a Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, E-Machines or other well-known computer, you probably have to contact the manufacturer to see if you are eligible to buy a replacement OEM Windows XP for a modest drive.

The other alternative is to buy a copy of the sale at retail of Windows 7 in a store like Wal-Mart, Staples and Office Depot.  In my opinion, a FULL version of non upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium normally runs a little under $ 200 and comes with similar versions of the games you mentioned.  On another note, I think the FULL Non-Upgrade Windows 7 Professional normally runs a little under $ 300 comes with the mentioned games (not installed by default) and offers the possibility to XP Compatibility Mode which will allow you to use the older XP games, if you prefer the.

Another option is to just buy another computer.  Gives Microsoft offers for its special price computer operating systems which manufactures then 'sometimes' to pass these savings on to you (the consumer).   The easiest place for the person "average" looking for another computer is probably here: http://www.dell.com

    Hi cbelle,

Thank you for using answers Forum.

I suggest using the CheckSUR for investigating issues of update.

What is system update readiness tool? System resources, such as file of data, even in the data memory and registry data, can develop inconsistencies during the lifecycle of the operating system. These contradictions may be caused by various hardware failures or can be caused by software problems. In some cases, these inconsistencies can affect the Windows Service store, and they can cause software updates not do not work. The system update tool attempts to resolve these inconsistencies.

The following files are available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:

Microsoft Fix - It ran... computer & rebooted... closed repeatedly...

    Problem persists... Help!

    Lane

It is a common problem with updates of .NET. Here are the steps I follow

    First try this...

Download and run the Microsoft .NET Framework repair tool , then visit Windows Update and let it try to reinstall updates. Once it's done, scan again with Windows Update to ensure that they properly installed.

If the above does not make it...

Open Add or remove programs, click on .NET 3.5 and choose repair. I got around to test if this fix actually .NET 2.0 and 3.0 of the .NET also, but it's worth it. I do not know if it can also cancel updates already installed .NET. If so, they will reinstall when you perform a Windows update that is the next step after the repair.

If the repair does not fix it, will add and remove programs and uninstall the .NET Framework 3.5, 2.0, then 3.0.
Visit Windows Update, select Custom scan and under software, optional install this...

It must be installed by itself. Windows Update will not let you do otherwise.

When he did install (I forgot if she asks for a restart or what not), scan again and all updates for .NET 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 of the .NET .NET must appear. Choose to install.
A new analysis to ensure that they properly installed.

If all goes well, that will solve the problems you face.

Make sure you come back and let us know which method worked for you or if you still have problems, I have to run a cleaning tool.

    Good luck!

Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself.

[You may want to print these instructions for reference offline. If a step said to reboot, reboot.]

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

1B. download the tool McAfee Consumer Product Removal, save it to your desktop: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

    5. right click on the file that you saved in step # 1 above and select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    5. right-click on the file that you saved in step # 1 b above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

NOTE: Do NOT activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

2 remove the contents of the download folder:

    Start > run > %windir%\SoftwareDistribution (enter) > [OK]

    Close the window.

    3. go to the Windows Update Web site. Select CUSTOM and allow the analysis to be performed. Uncheck the box/deselect KB951847 and hide ("don't show me this update").
