• Firefox crashes when loading websites, freezes when I try to download any file and completely freezes when I try to access the Options menu. Help!

  Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

  Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

  1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
  2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
  3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
     • Windows:
       • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
       • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
     • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
     • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
  4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
     1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
     2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

• Download disappears from the download window after completion

  When I download a file from the internet in Firfeox, download window stays open as soon as the download is finished, but the file name disappears from the window. In previous versions of Firefox downloaded file would remain visible in the download window after download was complete and I could simply click on the download window and open it. Now, because it disappears from the download window, I have to open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder that contains the newly downloaded file to open it, which is a pain. I activated the "remember my browsing and download history ' in the options as suggested in the previous answers to this question on the forum, but this makes no difference.   This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

  The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

  Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

  Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

  Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

  The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

  Test in safe mode. Same problem?

  After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

But not on my iMac, so I can't open them.

  I can understand your terminology, but have you tried signing off iCloud and then reconnect?

  Try to go into System Preferences/iCloud and stop synchronization. Wait a few minutes, then recheck the timing.

  I don't know when this started, but whenever I download a program file, the download is complete, but the file does not open when I click on 'run '.   A complete answer would require that we know what "word processing" you use.  However, one of the types of files that are acceptable as 'pdf', you can install 3rd party freeware "CutePDF Writer" on your computer:

  Note that you need to install CutePDF and Ghostscript (both on the site) on your machine.  After you do, you will find that you have another printer on your computer named "CutePDF Writer".  Print the file of word processing for this virtual printer.  When you do so, it ask for a place to store your PDF file.  Give it a name and location, and it will create a PDF file for you.   Excellent Freeware (among my top 10) and works with any application you can print from.  Especially good for saving recipes online so that you don't waste any ink/paper.

  I take an online class and a lot of my readings are in docx format.  I have Windows 7, Office 2007 and that you have downloaded the xml Converter, but when I try to download these files, I get a Windows Internet Explorer error: "Could not download [filename] [site] the file could not be written to the cache."  My Professor assured me that by downloading the conversion program is all what is needed and that other students were able to view them.  If someone could please help me with this ASAP, I'm supposed to have these read files in the coming days.

Please try again later or check the connection to the network. " I checked all that nothing seemed to be wrong, I did it again and again and again. So I just went to a solution or any news for DirectX. So far, no luck.

  I am running on DirectX 11 right now, is if there is a new DirectX or am I a jerk, and that is a different problem? I can't understand it.
