  Hi, Jeff. Sorry to be delayed if in response, life does that (heh). In any case I have re-installed successfully all CS2 using the files provided and the advice given here. Here are my steps:

  I used the utility of Windows Vista programs and features to uninstall CS2 as much as I could, but also had to use the instructions to manually remove the CS2 that you linked to the highest. I don't have the option export everything, only saved these registry keys, I have removed according to the instructions, but it seems as if that's enough. Documentation for the registry key removal has been very specific and useful, even if I did find all the keys listed. Then, I searched and scoured my drive for remnants of CS2, found a few records with specific preferences files that I backed up in case I wanted to use them after re-installation.

  I clicked on the first (CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe) downloaded .exe files, which eventually led to the opening of the CS2 installation wizard. This time through I canceled the installation at this point, because to go ahead would duplicate my previous installation attempt failed. Once the extraction is completed, I clicked on the second of the downloaded files (CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe) and stressed the files extracted C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\ - it's the location recommended in the note to the subject of the message "insert disk 2". After the closure of this extraction I then clicked on the last of the downloaded files (CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3.exe) and extract the necessary files remaining.

  After having extracted the files, I then clicked on the Setup.exe file in the C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0 and proceeds from the facility. Three times during the installation an error message came stating that "the operation cannot continue." due to the failure of the ahc.exe program. However, this does not seem actually to interrupt the installation, so I used the option 'Close program' in the pop up dialog box. It turns out that this error seems to related to a problem with Adobe Reader (I have fully updated it), perhaps because the new version of the player is slightly incompatible with the CS2 installer. In any case, Setup.exe finished and now I can use my CS2 files.

  Reminder, the main change I made to the installation process is not to use the wizard that opens after extraction CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe, extraction of CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe in the appropriate directory pointer (which was created in the extraction of the first archive) and use Setup.exe. This seems to ensure that all components are installed at the same time and the new S/N is accepted by all.

  Please note that in the file PDF displayed with the files to download (CS2_install_Win.pdf), it is recommended that the option 'Install later' serve, to allow a full checkout before installation. However, this option was not presented to me, that's why I made the changes to the installation process that I did, which retrieves everything before doing the installation.
