  After you have installed Windows 8 beta last year on my laptop, I bought the upgrade to the full version of Windows 8 and received a product key by e-mail as part of the purchase or download.  Now, I'm trying to use the same disk of Windows 8 Beta to install the OS on my desktop.  After you enter the product key, I get a message saying "cannot verify the product key - check your installation media."

  No, you can't, but what you can do is, use the following link to download and create the installation media that you can use to upgrade other computers.

  Please note, if other computers are running versions of 32-bit or 64-bit, you will need to create a respective installation media corresponding to the architecture of the facilities running on these computers (32 or 64-bit):

  If you must reinstall Windows 8 or you want to install it on one partition and you do not have installation media, you can create it using the installer of Windows 8. To create a support, you must use a PC running Windows 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows 7, and it must have the same architecture (32 or 64-bit) than the PC you want to install Windows 8.1 on.   If the laptop is preinstalled with Windows 7 Professional, it means that it is an OEM license. OEM licenses are not transferable, and they are related to the first computer they are installed.

  If it is a license purchased in a retail store, it is transferable to another computer. Retail licenses include documentation, certificate of authentification and relocation of media, which you should have if you want to transfer to another computer. You don't seem to have these things, which make it impossible to transfer the license to another computer.

  You must order a set of recovery disc for the computer from the manufacturer - this will install the appropriate drivers for your system automatically, as well as packaged applications.

  If you have not formatted the disk (or replaced) existing partition recovery may still be present - see your manual for details.

The only place that I can use the maps from Microsoft wants $199.99. To add insult to injury - I can't use gift cards for purchases in line-HELP! We waited 2 months just to be left out... I am very disappointed by Microsoft.
