DR SETUP IN RAC on RHEL 6.6 11.2.0.3

Hello Experts

We decided to apply to the DR SETUP in RAC environment

DB version: 11.2.0.3 on RHEL 6.6

I got enough hands with stand-alone database, but NOT with several Instance.

Experts please tell me one dataguard used in autonomous would be also identical for the cars or would it be different to implement?

Please find tell me proper requirement for all this. What to do all this.

My boss my plate, I have to work, so I'll do some research and development on all this.

I'm now the pressure.

Experts please tell me one dataguard used in autonomous would be also identical for the cars or would it be different to implement?

The process followed to build a house waiting for identical CARS that the stand-alone version one, but in the end, you add instances of sleep which does not happen in a stand-alone creation.

I guess your standby nodes are all loans with the Oracle binary and set up the IM. If Yes, then you can continue on the creation of Eve.

I have my notes on creating a physical standby database in a RAC configuration for a primary database of the CARS.

FCAC Eve physical database to the primary database of the CARS. Shivananda Rao

also before making what is proposed on the url posted by Mufalani.
It seems that you should do the following:

Verify the existence of udev mapping rule file /etc/udev/rules.d/60-raw.rules brute
On HR/EL5, gross udev mapping rule file /etc/udev/rules.d/60-raw.rules must exist by default as part of the util-linux package, for example:

    # ls /etc/udev/rules.d/60-raw.rules
    /etc/udev/rules.d/60-raw.rules

Create a custom gross udev mapping rules file, /etc/udev/rules.d/61-oracleraw.rules say, for example:

    # touch /etc/udev/rules.d/61-oracleraw.rules

3B. Add raw udev binding rules to the /etc/udev/rules.d/61-oracleraw.rules file
Add the binding rules gross udev in the etc/udev/rules.d/61-oracleraw.rules file, for example:

    # cat /etc/udev/rules.d/61-oracleraw.rules
    # Raw bind to Oracle Clusterware devices
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd*", PROGRAM=="/sbin/scsi_id", RESULT=="360a98000686f6959684a453333524174", RUN+="/bin/raw /dev/raw/raw1 %N"
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd*", PROGRAM=="/sbin/scsi_id", RESULT=="360a98000686f6959684a453333524179", RUN+="/bin/raw /dev/raw/raw2 %N"

If switch to RHEL5/OEL5 since an earlier version of Linux that has pressed persistent raw device bindings in the/etc/sysconfig/rawdevices file, the following script can serve as a basis to generate your RHEL5/OEL5 of the udev rules. Note that the script does not factor device name persistence.

    #!/bin/bash
    grep -v "^ *#" /etc/sysconfig/rawdevices | grep -v "^$" | while read dev major minor ; do
    if [ -z "$minor" ]; then
    echo "ACTION==\"add\", KERNEL==\"${major##/dev/}\", RUN+=\"/bin/raw $dev %N\""
    else
    echo "ACTION==\"add\", ENV{MAJOR}==\"$major\", ENV{MINOR}==\"$minor\", RUN+=\"/bin/raw $dev %M %m\""
    fi
    done

  • No oracle support for oracle 10g RAC on RHEL 5.3?

    Hi all
I have no oracle support. I need this information juice to my knowledge.
could you get it someone please let me know if oracle supports Oracle 10 g RAC on RHEL 5.3?
or on any version of RHEL 5.
documentation on tahiti has no mention of RHEL5.

    Thank you
    Arvind

Both Oracle 10 g 2 and 11g RAC are supported for RedHat Enterprise 5 on versions 32 and 64 bit. It's really some information that should be available outside metalink (for people like you who are not yet customers).

    Hope this has helped

and the gpfs 3.3.0.5 be install in my platform.

The ocrdisk was made on the disks, GPFS.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    don't you misunterstood something:

You can install RAC on RHEL 5 for x 86 with no problems.
-With or without GPFS (although I recommend to use ASM instead of GPFS).
-You must place OCR and discs with right to vote directly on the block/RAW devices.

Better is probably to take clusterware 11.2, here you can use ASM for everything and could also use ACFS as a clusterfilesystem for the database files.

Although you can use OCFS2, I recommend placing OCR and discs, directly on the block or raw devices to vote. See the installation guide for more details.

You can also install RAC on AIX.
-also here, it is recommended to place the OCR and the discs out of GPFS to vote.

And you can install it on Linux on Power, but only 10.2, since there is no 11 for linux to power software.

  • Oracle RAC private interconnectivity problem

    Hello

We set up Oracle RAC on RHEL 6.5.

Our reference document is "deployment Oracle RAC 11 g R2 Database on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6" verion 1.0 of Red Hat Reference Architecture Series.

    According to the document.

Two subnets have been used for interconnectivity.

    Two physical switches were used.

    rac.png

My Question: I see that there is a connection between two switches. What is the purpose of this link?

Please let me know example of configuration of Private Switch A and Switch B private.

    Thank you.

    Sajeeva.

Because its use of redundant interconnection function because the function HAIP is officially called would say that networks need to be in different subnets. So, if we ignore the diagram above we'll finish with the following configuration:

eth1 of each server that is running on the same subnet:

    Server1 - 10.0.1.1

    Server2 - 10.0.1.2

eth2 of each server that is running on the same subnet:

    Server1 - 10.0.2.1

    Server2 - 10.0.2.2

FAQ for IP highly available (HAIP) for version 11.2 (Doc ID 1664291.1):

"Each NIC is defined as a cluster interconnect (using oifcfg setif) on a given node will have a static ip address assigned to it and each cluster NIC interconnection on a given node must be on a single subnet."

The only advantage I see of HAIP, is that all your interfaces are active at all times where as with collage will be you almost end up with an active/passive configuration.

    Kind regards

  • Port number for Oracle RAC

    Hi all

I have a Setup to RAC two nodes using SCAN, and I have two databases on this subject. Can have the same port number?

    Thank you!

No, two databases/instances with a listener is not a performance issue.  Aman stressed that the listener is not 'busy' it is only necessary to initialize the connection to the database instance.

If you plan a very large number of connection requests to come (i.e. a high rate of queries per minute), you can go to the shared server (if the sql operations are running) or use the QUEUESIZE parameter for the listener.

  • Replace SAN in RAC environment

    Dear all,

We have 2 node Oracle RAC (database: 10 gr 2), using ASM (using raw disks), deployed on Windows 2003 R2 EE servers. This configuration uses IBM DS4700 SAN. Now, we want to move to IBM DS5308.

What does our team of storage is to use the remote to replicate data mirroring (DS4700 to DS5308). I'm not sure of the impact of this. It'll work or is setup Oracle RAC has any connection with SAN (mac address, for example)? What are other possible means to achieve this?

  • in RAC STATSPACK report

    Hi master,

We have therefore 2 node RAC on RHEL 4.7 (both) with the same set settings.

I would like to know, if we need for setting these two node RAc report performance and database or statspack report of two RAC nodes will do?

I have collected report to both nodes, but not database, because I think that the instances on the nodes represent the load on the database.

Please correct if I am my bad...

    any suggestion is appreciated.

    Thanks and greetings

    Vikrant,

You just need to run the /ADDM for the AWR report report of $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin and it will be to collect information for both instances and therefore statspack.

    $> sqlplus '/as sysdba'
    sql> @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/awrrpt.sql
    sql> @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/addmrpt.sql

  • Session at which was the bulk operations (DML) during the period determined in the Source database?

    Hi all

How to find which session was in bulk (DML) operations on a particular period in the Source database?

The source database: SRCDB - version: 11.2.0.3 (2 node RAC on RHEL OS)

    Target database: TGTDB - version: 11.2.0.3 (Non-RAC)

Source-> target (United directional Replicat use of Goldengate)

In our (source) database, I have observed that some inserts in bulk / updates which happened and because of this corresponding Replicat, database was a delay to apply updates/insert and there was a lag (treatment gap) happened in the target database.

When I checked the source database, I was unable to find that the session/SQL caused the bulk INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE (batch), since the transaction has already finished.

    1. is as possible to get the story SQL_ID or generated Session operations more Redo/DML

for example: the current time is 11:00 and I need to get the session/caused sql operations dml in bulk between 09:00 and 11:00?

    2. when I checked the history of SQL (dba_hist_sqlstat) time-based CPU, I found some instructions update. But I was unable to find the update caused SQL more updates to a table.

    For example: -.
