Drag to the bottom of the formula

In numbers 3.6.1. can you select a cell and then drag down to copy this formula in a column?

This feature works like this in excel, there may be another way to do it here.

Thank you

Yes.

Enter the formula in B2 (for example), click on the green check mark to confirm the entry.

Place the mouse pointer near the bottom edge of the cell B2. Enter the yellow filling control handle that appears in the middle of the lower part of the selection rectangle enclosing the cell and drag down.

Here, the formula is = () - 1 LINE

Here it is with the handle of copying, driven down to line 8.

Kind regards

Barry

  • New lines are not included in the formula of TOTAL in the footer cells

I have a table in which I put a SUM formula in the line of the footer for a total of the column over a series of columns.

It was that I could drag the icon '=' under the table to add additional lines and the formula of the SUM comes automatically adjusted to include the additional lines added.  Now, so that the total cell of the column to include values in other lines, I have to individually edit the formulas and drag to include the new lines in each formula of TOTAL.

What on earth did I screw up?  I googled this 1 million ways and keep only to find the instructions to find out how he set up to begin with... but clearly I did something wrong.

Your formula looks something like this?

    = SUM (A)

The trick is to have just the letter of the column, not something like A2:A5.

A quick way to enter a formula in a cell in the row of the footer is to select the cell, and then choose this toolbar:

  • Need help with the FORMULA by the numbers

I need a table to calculate my order of shirt by color and size. What I am doing wrong?   Thank you

If by "score" you mean County, you could do something like this:

The formula in B2, filled and right at the bottom, is:

    = COUNTIFS(Table 1::$B,$A2,Table 1::$E,B$1)

COUNTIF is built using a series of pairs of the condition column.

And if you mean by 'score', for example, the amounts in the column amount instead of the counts, he could do something like this:

    = SUMIFS(Table 1::$G,Table 1::$B,$A2,Table 1::$E,B$1)

Make sure that your table with the data from the source (in my example, table 1) is a separate table is not part of a larger table (as your screenshot seems to suggest).

  • Difference between the formula rule and column aggregation in edit form

Someone please help this is the use of aggregation formula rule and column in column edit option.

What is the difference if I ask the sum in the aggregation rule to apply sum (column name) in the formula in the column.

When do I need to use that one.

    Thanks in advance

When you create a column of the RPD, you have the opportunity to determine whether the column should be aggregated in some way or not. For dimension columns, you would not put the aggregation. To say, a column of accounting balance account, you may be putting the SUM or AVERAGE aggregate. Aggregation put you on this column will be 'default' column aggregation in the responses.

Thus, in Answerrs, if you use the balancing item of the account column and you have only the size of the region, will bring together the OBIEE or SUM the book balances in order to have an AMOUNT for the level of the region. If you district, that the balance of the book column will consolidate at the district level. It is a convenient way to create reports without having to specify what should be aggregation.

However, OBIEE gives you the ability to override what the default aggregation for a particular column. It is the purpose of the drop down at the bottom left of a column when you click the fx button.

Say the aggregation by default of the book balance is the SUM of the RPD, but for the report that you create, you want to calculate the average, you can apply the AVERAGE function in the fx window and it will be overridge rule of SUM aggregation which was to the RPD.

    I have it?

  • Strings, the formula = numeric values?

is there a way of having a cell to display a string numbers, but when this cell is referenced in a formula it will be used as a numerical value? See screenshot.

I want the storage capacity label.

I want the strings displayed in column A to represent numeric values in column B.

then "128 GB" = 0.13. or "128 GB" = B2. I need a cell to associate it with the value of the other.

My goal is to make a column of pop-ups with storage capacities that can be used in a formula in another table.

If you choose "128 GB" I want its value to be 0.13

I prefer to use a table of choice like that.

    (1) create a table (as you have) that contains the list of text and the corresponding values

I named the 'TaillePour Value' table

In the table where you want to use, use the following formula:

    C2 = SIERREUR (IF (VLOOKUP (B2, TaillePour Value::A:B, 2, 0) = 0, ' ", VLOOKUP (B2, TaillePour Value::A:B, 2, 0))," ")

It's shorthand dethrone select cell C2, then type (or copy and paste it here) the formula:

    = SIERREUR (IF (VLOOKUP (B2, TaillePour Value::A:B, 2, 0) = 0, ' ", VLOOKUP (B2, TaillePour Value::A:B, 2, 0))," ")

    Select cell C2, copy

Select cells C2 at the end of the C column, paste (or as needed)

  • Caveat "the formula uses a Boolean value instead of a number" would dismiss

    Hello!

I do a "Calculator" to get estimates of price for the projects, according to which processes the customer wants.

Rates for each process are added in another table, and I use the list of control buttons to enable or disable the various processes.

Here is an example of a formula:

D3 determines if the part of the project modeling is performed, so the price will be or will not be calculated.

If D3 is true, the result is multiplied by 1, give me a positive amount. If false, the result will be multiplied by 0, 0, so nothing to add to the final cost he send me some.

Same for B4 in the same formula.

This formula is repeated all over the chart, with minor changes to add more complex options, but it's all the same.

Everything works fine, but I got those blue triangles warning me of "the formula uses a Boolean value instead of the number". That's fine with me, I like the use of the Boolean types, and they make my formulas work well in my calculator. How can I reject the blue triangles?

They are a little annoying. And they do not really correspond with the general style of my calculator.

I saw someone talking other types of formulas, with SEARCH and yews, but who is really complicated and I don't know how to do... Especially for a simple calculator

Is there a way to simply do not display warnings?

Using the version 3.6.2 on a MacBook Pro, OSX El Capitan 10.11.5

    Thank you!

    Hi Sinshassan,

I don't know a way to escape your blue flags except to make a formula which is consistent with the expected numbers. It is not difficult.

    My formula D2 = yew (AND(D1,B2), C2, 0)

The IF statement tests the two D1 AND B2. If they are true, then it indicates the value of C2 your carbon Modeling::High Poly #1, if one or both are false (unchecked) then 0 is displayed.

    Give it a try.

  • Using the formula of numbers

    Hello.

I seems to have hit a wall with a simple spreadsheet, I'm developing.

I want to administer the spreadsheet on my mac, but I want to be able to edit the spreadsheet through my people, using ipads. I also want to synchronize the file to the cloud so all have an updated file to use. I'm testing number and Excel. Excel works fine but the numbers I think has a bug. I want to use the numbers for several reasons.

I've attached a screenshot of a fake spreadsheet which basically highlights what I want to achieve below. The spreadsheet works fine in number for mac, but on the iPad, I have an annoying problem that it may take a more complex formula to make it work.

Basically, this is how I want my spreadsheet to work:

Cells C4 - C6 and D6 - D4 are the date cells through which we enter the date in and out. The column days Out (column E) subtracts basically two dates. The return last column (column F) subtracts the Date in the column (column D) with the date in H1. So, I want to be able to sort the F column in descending order (which is the most important function of the spreadsheet, numbers of thugs are so unwanted) the spreadsheet works fine on my desktop, but on my iPad numbers puts a large number of column F (usually 73000 + according to the effective date, see line 7 in the attached photo). Those big numbers seem to be the number of days since the year "0".

Here are the formulas that I currently use:

    Column E: IF (OR(C6=0,D6=0), "", D6−C6)

    Column F: IF (OR (C6 = 0, D6 = 0),"", $H$ 1−D6 ")

    Column H: today()

I used the function DateDiff but that does not work.

Is this a bug? Or can I somehow generate a formula that will require to work?

Fixing unfortunately it's become outside my experience base with spreadsheets.

    Hi Duke,

Can't tell what's going on, but I get the correct results, recording the same formulas in column d a new document worksheet in numbers for iPad.

Results in column D are the same as yours. Results in column E are one day less than yours for the first two items (it's always may 20 here) and d 187 to the third point.

What is the (real, not "scheduled") formula in the iPad version F4?

    Kind regards

    Barry

  • Cell that contains the formula paste between spreadsheets

How do I paste the value of a cell that contains the result of a spreadsheet formula has, in a worksheet cell B and still have the operation of the formula? OS 10.11.14, numbers 3.6.1.

    Hi dad,

It depends on what you mean by "still have the operation of the formula."

If simply paste you it into a new table in another document, the formula will be stuck more or less intact, but it will not reference all the cells on the original table. If he refers only the cells on the table where he came from, he can refer to these same cells or cells in the same position relative to the new location on the table to which it is glued. You will have probably the best success with her work on the new table, if you copy and then paste the formula itself, rather than the containing cell.

Repeat what I have not quite clear in the first line: the numbers documents cannot reference cells in other documents of numbers.

  • Prevent others from changing the formula

I created a Budget sheet to spread and have different contributors who will be able to add information, BUT I don't want their change of layout page or formulas etc.

    How can this be achieved?

    Hi David,

I would put in place a specific map and a table of the data entry of your employees. The budget table/sheet would take data from there, and you could block this table to discourage changes.

In iOS, I would create a form. It would allow the data entry and access to the formula results but of formats and formulas cold not be displayed in the form.
