Dreamweaver CS3 crashing

Use a new copy of Dreamweaver CS3 on this machine for about 6 weeks without problem, then he started to break down a couple of days. No new installed program that would have adversely affected it during this period.

Essentially, ill be in CodeView and try to make a change and it will crash to the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error:

Runtime error!
Program: C...

This program has requested in an unusual way. For more information, contact the Application support team.

Happens all the time, actually its been about 4 times in the last two days. It seems to be based on a specific action or a series of actions, because I can reopen it the page after the re-start and - if I do exactly the same thing - it will crash again.

Help!

I already posted this in another message but I have not seen too many references to it so I thought that I still had to pass it again...

This can not help you, but it may be worth checking. I had Dreamweaver suddenly start crashing on me yesterday for no reason and then (hopefully) happened on this post.

http://groups.Google.com/group/Macromedia.Dreamweaver/browse_thread/thread/2bf95dcd3d50f50 d/dabcaff368ba91da

Scroll down to the post of David Powers. Basically files that are exactly "8192 bytes (or a multiple thereof) in length" cause DWCS3 to crash, and I guess that Adobe knows about it.

I didn't, but I went back and checked the last file I just change and sure enough 8192 bytes exactly. In fact, it was the same file of Spry tabbed panels CSS he mentions, usually around 8 KB when creating so that any slight change it will grow in this range.

I hope this helps.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 crashes after the end of daylight saving time

In Windows XP x 64, Dreamweaver CS3 crashes after the end of DST. There is a technical note which seems to describe the situation exactly. http://KB.Adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402776 & sliceId = 1

    However...

    (1) technical note says that this only happens with ASP and PHP code. I use ColdFusion. (This is a minor point).

    (2) technical note said...

Remove the WinFileCache - AD76BB20.dat the Dreamweaver user configuration folder. Note that on Windows, the Application Data and AppData folders are hidden by default, so check that your Windows Explorer folder options are set to show hidden folders. The location of this file is as follows:

    Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows Vista:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration
    Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\ [username] \Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration

However, I couldn't find WinFileCache - AD76BB20.dat in Documents and Settings or in Program Files (86) \Adobe. (86, it is because it is a 32-bit program on a 64-bit computer, but everything else is the same). I tried then the two directories for *.dat and there was no file that resembled something like WinFileCache - AD76BB20.dat.

    . Can someone help me?

    Thank you!

    Alan, thanks for the suggestion.

I did the research found the file, deleted it, open Dreamweaver CS3, chose the same text - and it crashed as before.

THEN I REBOOTED and tried again - no. CRASH. So it seems that a reboot is an essential part of the correction.

BTW: My situation exactly match the description of the Technote. (1) the accident occurred when selecting - in design view or code - some text in a HTML context involved in the code ColdFusion; (2) I had no problem with these files before DST ended; (3) even after I've not had any problems with them in Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 on another machine - the problem is that the CS3.

So the TechNote is correct as it will, but should be changed as follows:

    (1) ColdFusion should be included in the types of code that can be associated with the problem.
    2) instead of delete the WinFileCache - AD76BB20.dat, you should delete the WinFileCache-[any] .dat.
    (3) a reboot after the removal may be required.

    Anyway, problem solved.

    Thank you!

  • Dreamweaver cs3 crash

I not looking for any help on this because I don't think that someone can help me. I find nowhere else to give feedback to Adobe.

Dreamweaver crashes with an exception uncaught almost everyday several times a day. Running Windows xp service Pack 2 Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227_2254
    Dreamweaver version 9 build 3481.

It seems to crash randomly. I don't do the same thing whenever it crashes. I don't see any pattern to his crash. Sometimes I use Homesite, so I can get my work done.

Today it crashed when I selected all the text in a page. I was about to hit [ctrl] [c] to copy the text when the program crashed.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 crashes when creating forms

Not sure what's going on here. I have built several sites not containing the standard shape handles again no problem. Now all of a sudden when I open a particular page it causes DW to crash. Today, I created a new form page which had no problem then I realized that I would need to cut out the shape in two pages because it was too big for a single page.

I cut half of the form and pasted into a new blank template page then record successes and of course, crashed and now does not open in DW without causing a system crash.

    Anyone seen this before?

Has this happened before the end of Daylight Savings Time?

  • DW CS3 Crash

I was walking my way through a tutorial on the Adobe.Com website when Dreamweaver CS3 crashed and Windows asked me if I wanted to send a report to Microsoft. Very strange. I use DW CS3 now that he's out and have never seen crash.

The tutorial is one of: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/addt_image_gallery_pt1_03.html
I finished step 5, how the incident occurred. It happens every time I open this file (upload_image.php). Another strange thing is that it crashes ONLY if I'm in CODE view, but not in the mode of CREATION of Dreamweaver.

Can anyone suggest what could be wrong here? If you have the time, I would like to hear if you can go through this tutorial even without problem.

    Thank you

  • DW CS3 crashing when & lt; / Select & gt; closing tag

    Hi all

Could someone please take a brief look at the code below and tell me why Dreamweaver CS3 crashes every time that I try to fill the < / select > tag?

Quick overview: I am filling a my SQL database details page. If an option (for example "option_a") exists, I want the drop-down list to populate with all parts available for this specific option. An example for the option_a would be 'Color', and the selections in the ListBox (a1, a2, a3...) would be something like 'blue', 'green' or 'red '. The code is attached:

DW crashes the SECOND I close that < / select > tag near the end. I know that this code isn't perfect and there are probably a dozen better ways to do this, but I am new to php and web design. The really strange thing is that it worked for several weeks. All of a sudden, it no longer works. I wonder if there is a character of control here or something, or maybe I deleted an important figure? Thanks in advance for the help.

  • My hard drive crashed and I need to re - install Dreamweaver CS3

My hard drive crashed and I need to re - install Dreamweaver CS3. I have my license, but I can't find a copy of the software. I found some comments that Adobe makes available for download. I want to continue to use this version.  Anyone has any ideas on where I can find a copy of Dreamweaver CS3?

If you follow the 7 steps you can dl a free trial here: http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html

and activate it with your serial number.

If you have a problem dl'g, you don't follow all 7 steps.  the most common mistake is not meticulously follow the steps 1, 2, and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system, allowing you to download the correct version of the adobe.com site).

As has been done by technicians from Adobe, you obviously have a paid support plan. It would be best if you contacted them to fix this.

The only solution I have is to uninstall and reinstall.

  • dreamweaver CS3 installation is not possible

I own dreamweaver CS3 since 2005, 4 years under Win7. After a PC crash, I try to install again, but not possible (the installation file is damaged). FixIt MS can not solve the problem. Still CS3 is old, I use it often. If there are problems on html, I can resolve it manually. How can I install my old CS3 good again?

After that I completely deleted all the registry entries manually, the installation of CS3 could be made. His works now.

Before I used the Adobe cleaning tool, but it is not enough, several registry entries remained, the installation CD was not possible.

    Thanks again!

I can confirm that. Yours is the latest in a series of reports that I
saw on CS3 crashing when PHP code is placed in a select statement
element. According to a report, it began to occur only from
    Europe winter time change.

I haven't checked the issue of the time change, but I also checked code
My essential 'The Guide' book for Dreamweaver CS3 It is also
causing Dreamweaver CS3 to the accident, but this happens only on Windows, not
on a Mac. The suspicion, is so that he might well have been
triggered by a change in Windows. I'll try to get in touch with the
    Dreamweaver team.

Dreamweaver CS3 has started to crash when I open any file. I get the following error.

You probably have a corrupt WinFileCache.

On Windows XP, go to C:\Documents and Settings\change
    Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration

On Vista, go to the C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver
    9\Configuration

Find the file called WinFileCache-* .dat and delete it.

    Restart Dreamweaver.

  • Dreamweaver cs3 will not register

    Hi all

I recently bought a copy of dreamweaver cs3 and everything went smoothly until the end where you must register the product and he says 'we are unable to connect to Adobe to regret your product.

    1.I have internet connection

    2 java script enabled

    3. I clicked on the button register.

    How to solve this problem?

    Thank you for your time!

CS3 is well outside the 'window of support' where recording would have mattered.

If the serial number has been accepted, there is nothing to worry about, as far as going to the trial period. It will not be stopped after 30 days without registering. Registration had nothing to do with how the product worked.

I never registered CS3 or CS4 and up to a little more than a year, when I finally deleted them for good, they were installed without problem.

$75 is in the "too good to be true" price range. Make sure that you run a solid a-squared Anti-virus program, in case you've been duped by one of the many swindlers eBay there sell software cracked in legitimate appearance package.

  • Relocation of existing in Dreamweaver CS3 Web site is my question. I just installed a new OS (windows7) on my PC. I reinstalled my Dreamweaver CS3 software, yet, now none of my files are in the right column for the management of my site.

I'm trying to restore my Dreamweaver site designed in Dreamweaver CS3 after installing a new operating system (now Windows 7). I have re-installed the Dreamweaver CS3 software, so that now all my files are no longer in the right management of Dreamweaver Panel. My site as a whole is saved on a hard drive. It seems that one should be able to import GOLD, even reglisser the entire site (all files) to the existence in the right panel. My 900 + pages manual says nothing about this work. My server host (HostGator) has me download FileZilla for help, yet, so I'm not a computer person will have a difficult time to get more. Anyone have any experience with that can offer assistance? It would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Go to Site > new Site > DW to tell it where your Site on your hard drive folder.

    Example: C:\YourSiteName.  See screenshot.

In addition, you will need to reference installation log in FTP to your server.
