  Hello

  I have a bug that is driving me crazy and I'd love someone to suggest a solution!

  Basically Dreamweaver CS5 has begun to lose some FTP usernames and passwords every time I left (I'm on Mac OS X latest version)... The other guys in the office even get on CS4 too.

  We believe that it is a link corrupted between Dreamweaver and Keychain passwords are still there... import site def toured, although the details are still lost when I left.

  Any ideas would be great... I have submitted a request for help from Adobe too but have not ever heard talk about them in the past... fingers crossed that I'm slowly going mad!

  Hey there - we had the same problems and fix the Mac OS X Keychain (followed by a reboot) of the files made difficulty and restore all the settings of our FTP site. It was also discussed by various other messages of the forum with mixed reviews or results. But I recommend you try the following:

  1 quit Dreamweaver.

  2 launch the Keychain Access application.

  3. Select the keychain first aid (check and repair).

  4 restart your Mac.

• I uninstalled Dreamweaver CS5.5 and reinstalled and now I can not find or open my files websoite.

  When I installed first my Dreamweaver CS5.5, I took a class and using my instructor (4 years ago). When I tried to open and update my site yesterday (as I do every year for my small business) I got a message from Java Update I did.  Then, I got a message to uninstall and reinstall Dreamweaver I've done.  Now I can open the app, but I can not open my Web site files.  I see them on the menu, but they do not open.  I am on a Mac with os x Yosemite.  I think it has something to do with the managed sites, but after trying several things, I did more than a mess of things and I can not always open my files.  My site is still running on the remote server, but I can't do the updates that I need for my Web site for 2016. I wish there was someone in the Milwaukee area, that I could go to help me with this or someone who can guide me through it over the phone.

  Go to Site > new Site or manage Sites.

  Click your site definition.

  Click on the pencil icon to edit it.

  Click the servers tab.  See screenshot.

  Root directory is what your Web host told you to use.  If in doubt, contact your webhost.

• Why Dreamweaver CS5 is remove my server login information?

  I had a terrible time with some of the common features of Dreamweaver CS5 does not properly.  Now I have another: she goes ahead and deletes my login and password.  It happened five times in the last three days on two different sites I work on and drives me crazy.

  What happens is that I get an error message saying that the FTP can not connect with the server.  I'm in Manage Sites, and the login and password fields are empty.  I fill them in, and now I can connect to the server.  Then at one time random, it could be later that day, he might be the next day, I get the error message, see Manage Sites and they are white again.

  I updated for Dreamweaver 8 two weeks ago and I'm starting to really, really hate this program.  I lost so much to deal with things which don't work well, and it represents significant income loss for me.  I got in one of the Design Collections, but plans really go back to version 8, which is not a lot of new features, but at least the things everyday functioning properly.

  I am running Mac OS 10.6.4 on a Mac less than 6 months.

  Connecting to the official site, I find no problem my license number but I find that Dreamweaver CC to install... and I'm not licensed pay it and do not wish to subscribe.

  I'm trying to download a Web site on Godaddy using the Site Setup in Dreamweaver CS5. I've selected the following settings:
  Connect using: FTP
  FTP address: http://www.godaddy.com
  Username and password are correct
  Port: 21
  Root Directory: tests
  Web URL: http://www.stateline7.com/testing

  I'm using the wrong port #? or the wrong FTP address? Don't know what to do from here. When I hit test, I get an error message after the connection attempt.

  I've also posted this question of Godaddy help forum, but I thought it couldn't hurt to post here too.

  FTP address: www.stateline7.com

  See if that lets you connect without error.  If so, then tell us what you see on the remote side of the files Panel folder names.

  Ok.  Your site is not properly defined.

  You are on the GD Windows hosting plan.

  This means the root directory of your main domain nameishttpdocs/

  You must upload all your files to that folder on your remote server.  As it stands now, you're uploading to a folder higher than your ROOT. That's why things are not working for you.


  In DW, go to Site > Manage Sites > servers.

  Change the root directory to httpdocs / see screenshot.

  #1, try the FTP mode passive switching power in the definition of your remote server site.

  

  #2 with the exception of a handful of gaming sites, Flash is a web technology dead.  It is not taken care of by iPhone, iPad, iTouch, Android, etc...  I don't recommend to use Flash for anything these days.  Better to use HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS level 3.

  I use a Mac. I downloaded the Mavericks. Dreamweaver CS5 no longer works. Looking at the articles, it is unsupported in Mavericks.

  I bought the CC. I downloaded CC of Dreamweaver. I was hoping that it would have been smart enough to know that I already have an earlier version of Dreamweaver and transfer all my info on the FTP sites, etc.

  It does not seem to do that. There must be an article (although I searched and not using the correct keywords I guess) to show how to do this?

  I hope that I can somehow point CC my existing info and I have to redo everything.

  I don't know what I did, but I re-installed CS5 3 times and finally, he worked with the Mavericks. I was able to EXPORT my web sites. Thanks again.

  I have recently developed a problem with my Dreamweaver CS5.

  I have a very small project (currently 1 file html, 1 css file and some assets in folders), but this project makes Dreamweaver performance to a crawl. Any time click you on anything anyone, you must wait at least 10 seconds to answer him. It also displays does not not at the top of the page.

  However, if you manage to navigate to another project, then he speeds right back up again! I tried to delete all the files in the user cache > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > DreamweaverCS5 > en_US, but this made no difference. I rebooted the computer too. Nothing.

  Any ideas how to solve this problem, because it makes this unworkable project.

  After trying what you suggested, I had initially a success full, everything worked fine. But when I moved my belongings he slowed to a grinding hault again. However, in doing so, I managed to find the cause of what he was doing so slow.

  The background image for one of my divs was transparent .png file semi was 1px by 1px. I think that the Dreamweaver crashed trying to render the div because she felt return both copies of this pixel. I'll try to make an image in photoshop which is maybe 10px 10px or larger and tiles which instead. I hope that this will solve my problem.

  I don't know if it's the same as you, but I thought it would be useful to know when the same issue.

• Dreamweaver cs5 change copy and paste does not work

  Dreamweaver cs5 Edition copy and paste does not work,

  So Windows 7 SP1. I tried to rename the follder config and start again and it does not work.

  Problem is when I select a file from windows Explorer, then go to Dreamweaver, choose the destination folder and editing/paste is disable, reverse operation is the same, selecting file in dreamweaver, editing/copy, go to the folder of windows Explorer and paste doesn´t work too. Anyone have the solution? (Sorry my English)

  My copy of DW also works as you describe, I think it's just "the way that it is" in DW.

  To copy a file from another location on your computer to your site, copy it from the original location and paste it into the site folder within windows Explorer (do not use DW at all).

  You can also drag a file from your desktop to your files window in DW to make a copy.
