Dreamweaver to change wordpress

Hello. I have an e-learning company and we use

a. html + css

b. php + mysql

virtual world flash incorporated of c.

We think to download a WORDPRESS theme and I'm a little worried about a few things:

a. y at - it no problem with the main help of a theme wordpress as my home page for info. Then I add a url hyperlink to my login.html which has nothing to do with the theme of wordpress, but is obviously on the same server of my host. It's not like there is a problem, but I have to doublecheck.

Thanks in advance

Oh, and Wordpress is not too difficult to install.  Your host can do for you, but always upgrade to the latest version.  If you get no joy it will be easy to find an online tutorial. It is not so difficult.

When you installed, check out some tips on safety.  For example its always recommended to create a new account to use, and then remove the default admin user.  There are others but you will: those you can manage through google.

  • Dreamweaver vs Drupal/WordPress

I have a series of websites based on a simple CMS, I played with for several years. I long planned to upgrade to a professional, probably Drupal CMS or WordPress, but I have so many questions I don't know where to start.

A big question is how do I translate all the customization that I spent years working on another CMS?

With this in mind, I was wondering if someone with experience of Drupal or WordPress can tell me how a program would be "locked me in." There are two main things, I want a CMS:

    (1) the ability to add specific features (either integrated or with plugins), rather than having to develop them myself.

    (2) a page stable and responsive design.

Is it possible to configure Drupal or WordPress so that the basic principles (for example, page design and display) are supported, but you can at the same time create what you can call a sandbox or a workshop where you can import more or less your customizations and hacks? For example, I have my sisters set up so that the outbreak of some URL background colors or images, or members of a trigger to show URL in particular a nav index related to this series.

In addition, when people upgrade programs such as Drupal or WordPress, how will this affect their use of Dreamweaver? Some people give up Dreamweaver or Dreamweaver can always be used as its main tool when working with something like Drupal or WordPress?

    Thank you.

Dreamweaver is a tool used for the coding of pre-launch.

Drupal and WordPress are frameworks for building CMS sites.  Once these frameworks are installed and running on your server, you do not use DW to change sites.  It is all managed via the administration panel of your Drupal dashboard or WP.

If you're well informed about the code, and more specifically how themes work in Drupal or WordPress, you can customize the themes with Dreamweaver to do more.

Start with a sensitive issue to be free or purchased commercially that fits most of your needs.  If your theme doesn't have the features, chances are good that an extension or a plugin is available to fill these gaps.

Drupal is for experienced coders.  It is not simple to learn, but you can do much more with it.

WordPress is much easier to learn.

  • CC of Dreamweaver causes localhost wordpress display an empty page

I have updated wordpress in place using WAMP local server and it worked without problem. Win7 64 bit.

I just installed Dreamweaver CC and set up sites using tests Http://localsite/sitename for many 'normal' site I managed and which was fine, I could see them using live view.

I then added a local test site to see the site I've managed under wordpress and when I went to the live view, all I could see was a blank page.

I then closed dreamweaver and just opened my local aid wordpress site Http://localhost/WordPress and who showed too just a blank page.

I have no problem to get into my wordpress site through the local desktop but cannot view pages.

I searched the web and tried a lot of workarounds, but nothing has worked. in the end, I uninstalled worpress, removed from the wp database and reinstalled everything without problem.

Localhost worked with wrodpress again. However as soon as I tried to access the local wordpress site with dreamweaver the problem comes back.

It's very frustrating because you recreate a wordpress site is not as simple as copying just a load of HTML and PHP pages.

I have to add there is no errors shown.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Hello Nancy,

Well, I solved the problem. As I mentioned it was strange there is no error message in the browser window, just a screen empty, so with Firefox I right click "view page source" that showed an unrecoverable error on the first lines of code in the header file. It was another mystery that this header file had worked for a long time without problem. In any case to eliminate I delete the offending code as it was only a part of the HTML code in place, but the error still persists with the same message. It was even more strange that I couldn't work where wordpress saw this code that I had deleted. This then led me to check the main index.php in the main wordpress folder which is normally just a few lines to define the theme and load the wordpress environment. This had somehow been corrupted and had been crushed by the index of my theme file and as such has caused the fatal error that all links are mistaken. This list was an error that does not display anything.

In any case have uninstalled all new and re-created the database via phpMyAdmin and then reinstalled and then configure the local testing server (check the main index of wordpress step-by-step file) I now have a wordpress site under dreamweaver work.

How the index file has become corrupted I have no idea, and I think that I will ever be.

  • How to convert the Dreamweaver site for wordpress

I created a Web site in Dreamweaver for a customer, but they want the ability to edit the site yourself t.  Is there an easy way to convert this html site to something that will work in wordpress? Are there other sites that can do? Help! I don't want to re-design of this entire site that took me 3 months!

I'm sorry.  But there is no automagic way to convert a static HTML site to WordPress.  Your client should you said from the start that they wanted a CMS.

You could install WordPress as a blog (domain.com/blog/WP/).  The blog would be editable by your customer in WordPress, but the main site would remain static HTML.

Another option is to reverse engineer your static HTML pages to work with another CMS product.

  • Dreamweaver cs5 change copy and paste does not work

Dreamweaver cs5 Edition copy and paste does not work,

So Windows 7 SP1. I tried to rename the follder config and start again and it does not work.

Problem is when I select a file from windows Explorer, then go to Dreamweaver, choose the destination folder and editing/paste is disable, reverse operation is the same, selecting file in dreamweaver, editing/copy, go to the folder of windows Explorer and paste doesn´t work too. Anyone have the solution? (Sorry my English)

    Thank you!

My copy of DW also works as you describe, I think it's just "the way that it is" in DW.

To copy a file from another location on your computer to your site, copy it from the original location and paste it into the site folder within windows Explorer (do not use DW at all).

You can also drag a file from your desktop to your files window in DW to make a copy.

  • Dreamweaver CS4: change/rename a .flv - does not change the script code

    Hi all

I do some changes to a site that does everything at the time using CS3.  The site has many, many pages that have embedded .flv files.  All these files have been updated with new videos, so now that I have to go back and change the links for them all.  I'm used to be able to click on the placeholder of the flash on the page and then edit the file link in the Properties window.  Now, it seems that in CS4 when you change the name of the file in this window it only changes the file name in the section object of noscript code but it does not change in the AC_FL_RunContent in the code section.  Me missing something, there was a preference setting in DW I missed somewhere that would make two references to a multimedia file will change when it changes in the Properties window?

    Thank you
    Chris

    Hello

CS4 uses different code to insert flv as CS3, which is probably why it does not recognize and replace the old code.

This means that you probably need to re - insert the FLV into your pages using the insert in CS4 for this option Update automatically on rename.

  • Changing the text in one frame CMS Wordpress template on the local server

I downloaded a complete demonstration model of Wordpress YooTheme used MAMP Pro to create a local server, it works perfectly under Dreamweaver CC, can edit CSS, edit images, etc, but...

How to change the content of the text?

What should be the easiest part of all the work, had to fight for hours and I must be missing something so simple?

Can I use Code Live to highlight the text I want to change, but it doesn't let me at that time then change it in the code editor. It also does not show me where text is stored (ie. which .php file or other).

    Help much appreciated.

You can have the URL of your site a remote (live) server address. If so, you will need to change it to your local address. http://Codex.WordPress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

(It's nothing to do with Dreamweaver, phpMyAdmin or Wordpress account).

  • Connection with Dreamweaver landing page file with site Web Wordpress

    Hello

I design and on a measure of my own landing page in Adobe Photoshop and have the open as an HTML file in DreamWeaver to make my link clickable buttons works (centered enter button and some social media buttons). I can't know how to connect my file to dreamweaver with my wordpress site landing page. I'm stuck trying to figure how to take my case dreamweaver this launch page that has interactive buttons with working links and align with my current live Wordpress site. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Your WordPress landing page is created on the fly by your server with your WP Theme - index.php, header.php, sidebar.php and footer.php files, etc...  Theme files are located in wp-content/themes /

If you want to create a custom theme, or more precisely a child theme in Dreamweaver, you must know the code HTML, PHP and CSS.  You need a working knowledge of the functioning of WP Themes and are built.   A Photoshop generated HTML page does not work with WordPress without a lot of re-coding.

Wordpress plugins will run in Dreamweaver?

WordPress plugins are specific to WordPress.  They do not work in anything other than a WordPress website and cannot be activated from the control panel Dashobard/Admin of WordPress.

  • WordPress vs Dreamweaver on the management style

How much culture and style of management to support dreamweaver different from wordpress?

Pretty abstract question for anyone who is familiar with your business.

'Management' is usually perfectly oblivious to differences other than cost...

If their 'culture' includes the actual practical participation in web development,

  • Impossible changes in Dreamweaver to a remote server.

I had no problem to my changes in Dreamweaver remote server yet.  When I make changes in Dreamweaver, put it on the server, it is said that the activity of the file is complete, but when I check the site in a browser, nothing has changed.  However, when I open the html file that is on my local server, the changes are there.  When I look in the design view of Dreamweaver, the changes are there.

As I said, everything worked so far.  I removed all hide of my browsers, tried to open the site in a browser, that I've never used it before.  Restarted my PC. But still not put my changes to be seen in a browser.

Thanks to everyone who took their time to answer my question.   The problem I had was that sometimes some files would be downloaded, and then the next time the newspaper said that they do not have to download.  The problem ended up being too many bad links and left too many deleted files on the remote server.  I went to the Site/sync at the site level and synchronized on the remote, which caused three times more files that I had, to download on my local drive - all the ones I thought was deleted when I renamed it them.  I also ran Site/Check links to the site level, and there were far too many bad links.  Then I went to the file index.html, checked to make sure that all the links were correct, cleaned up the code, double checked (I do all the time), then copied the passage of shipping on the rest of the pages, then put the entire site.  That solved the problem.

  • I can turn a small WordPress site into a static site I edit in dreamweaver

We have a customer who wants their revamped site. It is a small site on WordPress.com. I know that you can create static pages, but I don't see anything that allows you to transform existing pages in more static. Is it possible in Dreamweaver that we can open the site and convert.

Let's not waste time, arguing the merits of Dreamweaver v. WordPress. I just need an answer.

No, there is no automagical button in DW to do this, but, you might be thinking more than it anyway.

You can simply copy the source code of the page (the page of final output sent by the server to the Viewer) online and who bring in DW as a new page. Then it's just a matter of copying the images, javascript and css files and and their restoration of links.

EDIT: You define a Site in DW first, if you have a place to record the pages and the dependent files, if you have not already: GS-01: defining a new site | Learn Dreamweaver CS5 & CS5.5 | Adobe TV

  • DreamWeaver 12.1 change | Change the tag missing

I've recently updated DreamWeaver via the Adobe update.  One of the features that I use a lot was the Tag 'Edit' under 'change '.  With this new version (12.1), this feature has disappeared.  Is this a bug or a permanent change?

    angryglock and sjibben,

I received a reply from the DW team in response to my bug report earlier in the week last in this topic. These changes are reflected in paragraph 12.1 documents this URL: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/dreamweaver/using/changes-insert-options-creative-c loud.html #main - pars_text

In addition, most of the options that were previously in the record is now in

Format > Paragraph Format and Format > List/Style menus.

However, clearly some key features have been removed and Adobe said its because they have been "deprecated".

In addition to the tip of Rob, I found this in my library:

    1. Select Preferences from the creative cloud App

    2. Select applications. Choose the English App Arabic or Hebrew English menu.

option 3 (recommended if you want to use International English or another language on the same computer).

Scroll down and select to FIND NEW applications: previous Version

4 choose the version you want and close the preferences.

    Install the application.

Remember that this will now be your default language for installation of the CC.

    So you can reset.

England International does not Support Hebrew, but English Hebrew made.

You need to reinstall the software.
