Drive replacement hard satellite 1900 704

Hello!
I have problems with my hard drive, I think it is dying...
So I want to replace it with a new one, but I don't know where the hard drive.
Anyone know where it is and if it's easy to remove?

Thanks ^_^

Hello
It is very easy to swap the HDD on Satellite 1900. At the bottom you will see the HDD cover (near battery) fixed with two screws. Remove them and the HARD drive can be removed. If I remember correctly, the HARD drive is on this cover but replacement is not complicated.

Good bye

  • Need the latest graphic drivers for Satellite 1900 - 704

    Hi all.

I just bought a Satellite 1900 704 from a friend who has updated. The problem I have right now is the graphics driver. I have the drivers and the computer works well. The computer is good enough to play related games like half-life 2 and World Of War craft. But when I run half-life 2, he told me that my graphic driver should be upgraded and it might not work properly.

It still works, but when I play World of War craft the graphics are quite wrong and distorted and does not play. I downloaded the latest drivers from the Toshiba site but no luck. It's a GeForce 6800 Go. I tried the Nvidia site for drivers, but none are compatible.

It would be great if someone hade any idea on what to do. Appreciate the help.

    Hi Robbin

I had Satellite 1900 703 nearly two years and this unit is known to me. You're right about the performance of the laptop. The performance of the graphics are really good and I was also able to play several games but I had trouble with Far Cry. The graphics card was absolutely not powerful enough for him.

I can tell you one: If you can play games more recent you will be lucky, but if you have some problems with graph there is not much to do. You must understand that this unit is old enough and you can't wait for graphics to force und fabulous graphics giving more than possible performance.

  • Extension of RAM for Satellite 1900 704

    Hej all

I own a Satellite S1900-704 for years and I have a lot of luck with it with Debian Linux running.

Last week, I've assembled a 160 GB Hitachi HDD which works very well. Now, I want to increase the RAM.
The laptop is equipped with 2 pcs of 256 MB of RAM 512 total MB of course. I read that it is possible to set 2 pcs of 512 MB instead which would increase the total RAM of 1 GB. My question is: can I put in 2 pieces of 1 GB to 2 GB total? I can't find any confirmation for this...

    Thanks in advance!

    Boris

    > Can I put in 2 pieces of 1 GB 2 GB total.
No, to my knowledge, this is not possible.
The memory of the Satellite 1900 704 can evolve upward at 1024Mo max.
In this case, you can use the memory 2 x 512MB max modules!

The laptop won't work with 2 GB of memory: (unfortunately

  • Replacement of satellite 1900-305 CD R/W

I want to replace the burner Toshiba SD - R2212 CD with DVD burner (I thought the NEC 6650a). A hunt on the web indicates that this laptop is waiting the optical drive to be a master on the second IDE channel. Is this correct?

I also read (from a formal source of Toshiba) that all readers of Toshiba function as Cable Select by default, which seems incompatible with the first piece of information. Because I want to buy a player that works 'out of the box' can someone tell me how I can avoid the IDE #1 error I get if I don't buy a car with the good master/slave/cable select setting?

    Hi heel

I have Satellite 1900-703. I have no information specific which drive will fit and work properly, but I just know that the 1950 series have DVD-R/RW drive. Maybe the same drive will work with the 1900 series.

I use DVD very often and the best solution for me was external drive connected via a firewire port. Data transfer speed is very good, and on this way, I can use the newest and fastest DVD burner (also double layer). Before you search long for a good solution, I can just recommend you to do the same thing.

On this path, there is no drive that can burn just some formats, but you can buy burner that supports all the formats available.

  • Hard drive replacement on Satellite L500

    Hello

I need to buy a new hard drive, but want to make sure that the new one will agree and will work. they have laptops are all the same size. I have a satellite l500. http://www.umart.com.au/newindex2.phtml?bid=4 Will this hard drive fit into my portable Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500 G SATA 5400 RPM, 8 M laptop HARD drive.

What am I, I guess, at the research of?
    Thank you

Unfortunately this link doesn t show the HARD drive so if you can please change the link post the right one

In any case, what you need is 2.5 SATA HDD and I think HDD described in your ad will fit. Replacement isn't complicated and you can do it alone.
See also document s user manuals. Maybe you can find clear instructions how do.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Hard drive replacement for Satellite M30 604

Problems with my hard drive and wanting to change it. Think original was an IC25N060ATMR04-0, what appears to be a Hitachi 4200 RPM 60 GB UDMA hard drive with an 8 Meg buffer. Can I replace it with a bigger, faster disk? If yes should which technique I have? Grateful for any ideas!

    Hello

So, just be sure to install a disk IDE and not SATA. The rest is obsolete since you don t have to take care for all care such as speed or the cache. Just take the most large drive you can download and install it.

That's all. In the case of any questions do your thougts throw in this forum here ;)

  • Hard drive replacement for Satellite L750/755

I would like to replace my existing HARD - 500GB, purchased with the portable L750/755 to the United Kingdom. Ideally I'd like a 1 TB drive. Can anyone advise on my options - should be a Toshiba or can I buy the other disks hard manufacturer?

My current HARD drive is identified in the device as TOSHIBA MK5065GSXN Manager.

    Thanks in advance

Toshiba HDD do not. I changed the original HDD with SSD and is not Toshiba.

  • Hard drive replaced on Satellite A10 wouldn t

    Hello

I have a laptop A10. the hard drive died on me and was contracted. I bought a new hard drive, put it in and turned it back.

Comes up with the media test failure, check the system cable\insert disk in the drive.

I do not have any disk system, I just one cd with drivers, I bought the laptop.

How to make a system disk? any ideas?

A solution may be to reinstall the drive CORRECTLY and try again.

In most cases the player was just connected innacurate so that it has no connection and cannot be recognized.
Or try to connect to another HARD drive in this machine to exclude an error into the connector on the HARD drive.

But if you're sure that you correctly connected your drive and your test with a HARD drive another managed to 10000%, then send the HARD drive to the dealer where you bought
and the player, who they send to you.

  • Disk replacement HARD satellite 1800-400,

Prices differ as much here, so I think to replace my broken HD Toshiba (I believe that is / was 20 GB) with a new HD. Can I use one of the new 5400 RPM type disks, or if I hold with 4200 RPM normal ones?

If I do, should I first replace the old BIOS?

Maybe you need to consider the noiselevel to a 5400 RPM hard drive?

Update the BIOS? ... Never change a running system ;)

  • Disk replacement hard satellite M20

I had a problem with my satellite M20 Ref PSM20Q-00PZ6

The original HD (Toshiba MK4025GAS) is totally dead.

I bought a new one (toshiba MK6025GAS), the same 60G instead of 40.

I had never recognized by the bios, unless I have set it up on another laptop to change its size to 8.4 G.

How can I configure it to be recognized as a 60G?

    Hello

It seems that the BIOS cannot recognize the disk properly due to the size of the HARD drive. Unfortunately, I put t found any details on the size of HDD supported, but in my opinion the 60 GB of HDD is not supported if the BIOS recognizes the HARD drive correctly.

  • Start/drive problems hard satellite L305-S5899

Hello all - happy holidays and I would appreciate assistance. I just got this laptop for Christmas, and I woke up to find this morning in a blue screen! After I calm down, shut down the computer, and he refused to restart. Shows the TOSHIBA logo, then I get a black screen with a few letters indicating that the Realtek Ethernet part, then a line seems to say a multimedia cable is not found and more lines then seems to say there was no boot disk disk.please didn't insert the startup disk. I do - then the screen took me to the two options in a gray box - Toshiba system recovery or Restore Wizard. I take the Toshiba Restore Wizard. Now, no matter what I take (Out-of-box restore or clear HD) I get an error message when it tries to action and wonder of click OK to close the system.

If I try the system restore, it only tells me no detected WIndows...

Say the recovery disks to hold 'C' when the power is turned on and release when the Toshiba screen appears. I did and I got a black screen for hours who have sometimes a blinking cursor, a stable cursor or anything. I tried '0' as I've seen in these forums - nothing. I can't access F8 - all I get is F2 and F12 when I boot.

Again, the restore CD will work, but when I get to take action, I get an error message and tells me to press OK to turn off the computer.

It OF a lemon? Is my hard drive dead to the world? -What happened? It was fine for 3 days. I use BitDeffender and scan every night.

Still, any idea would be appreciated.

    > Is my hard drive dead to the world?

Looks like you had a bad luck for me it s not well explained why it happened, but it looks like a disc HARD does not run correctly.
I recommend to check if the HARD drive has been recognized in the BIOS.
If it isn't-> then the HARD disk is dead.

However, your laptop is new and I think you should visit your dealer and replace Notepad or you could contact the nearest ASP in your country and could ask for help.

In any case everything should be done for free because your warranty is valid and should cover everything!

    Good luck

    Hi all

In the last few weeks my PC started to show an error message during boot saying: "SMART hard drive check failure: imminent failure" or something similar. In any case I have already concluded that the only way I have to solve this problem is to replace the hard drive, so I wanted to replace the old with a new, maybe better. I'm looking to make myself so I would like to know if there is a guide and advice on which drive hard I have to buy.
    Thanks in advance.

You need to replace the original with a disk hard drive hard laptop SATA is the same ability or more. Keeping the capacity of the new drive is less than 1.5 TB. Your laptop "Media 6.35 cm (2.5 in.) 9.5 mm hard disks (. 37-in) and thicknesses of 7.0 mm (. 28 in).

You will need your drive series recovery or recovery usb support to restore the operating system and drivers required on the laptop.
