Driver for HP6988 does not work in Windows 7

I have windows 7 on my laptop and I try to install my Deskjet 6988 printer.  Plug in the USB and it says it downloads the driver successfully, but when I try to add the printer it says that the driver is missing something.  I uninstalled and reinstalled several times and nothing seems to help.  I'm having the same problem with HP Photosmart C5580 all in one.  The same problem.  I am really frustrated.  I also tried to connect to a Deskjet 3050 a J11 since this is a new printer and it wouldn't work with either.  Can you help me?

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do, but since I think I've tried just about everything else, I might have to.  I hope that the scannow will work.  Thanks for your help.

  • Emperor battle for Dune does not work on windows 7

It seems that this game will not work in windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit, and its not just me he a whole community on Dune2k who are facing this problem. The game is loading all the cut screens with perfect play, but at the start of the campaign is Ann the problem occurs if you try to order two other units, the game will lag either very poorly, going just down the flickering of the screen or it. Players have changed the settings on the game and graphics cards, just to see if there responsible for the problem, but unfortunately, also they do not have windows compatibility mode try running it on 98 and 2000, but the game just crash before loading up. The community has said his is a problem of Nvidia or Windows 7.

    Hi Zertos,

-You receive an error message when the game crashes?

However, check the compatibility of games with Windows 7 in the link below and see if they can be installed on Windows 7:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Since you mentioned that its installation and running in compatibility mode did not help to fix the problem, you can access the link below and search for information on the installation and execution of programs in XP mode and check if it works fine in XP mode. Using Windows XP Mode, you can run programs that were designed for Windows XP on computers running Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or Ultimate editions that also meet certain hardware requirements.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/install-and-use-Windows-XP-mode-in-Windows-7#section_1

Also, you can try to update the drivers to display the Device Manager and check if it helps. Access the link below and follow the steps to update the drivers on your computer.

  • Scanning drive for errors does not work - PC freezes

A scan of disc scheduled to start at the start, the opportunity to cancel the account up to 1 second and the computer freezes.  The scan does not work and I have to kill power PC (and then cancel analysis so it doesn't freeze again).

Then I tried the following experiment.  I have connected to my administrator account and demand there from there.  Then it worked fine.  So should I assume that this must always be done from the administrator account?  If so, Win7 should not allow you to schedule a chkdsk from a nonadministrator account.  Comments?

    Thank you.

You can schedule a chkdsk only the administrator account. If you plan it no admin is a standard account, you must run the command prompt mode elevation and elevation itself to give the administrator previllege. So what you want to say about it. Are you talking about the built in Administrator account by any chance? If so, then the user account where you have planned is corrupted try to create a new and check.

  • Old games made for XP does not work on Windows 7

    Hey there,
I have a problem with my Sims game. I installed it once, with all the expansions, bar 1. I played the game for about 2 days when I found another expansion. I installed this expansion, after that, I tried to play again, and it came with this message: "It has come to our attention that you have installed an another Sims expansion pack after the Sims Makin ' Magic. ' To work correctly, installer of Makin ' Magic will now update your installation. Select OK to continue. "I did it, and he arrives with the shield of the installation, completed the update and comes up with" do you want to uninstall Makin ' Magic? "Initially, I selected YES uninstalled the whole game and started to be again once I installed Makin ' Magic last. It is still coming up with this message, I can play is no longer the game, please, IF anyone CAN HELP, THAT would BE LARGELY APPRECIATED. .

    Hello Jodie.

Unfortunately as you have discovered the Sims with its packs of extensions is a bit a mess. Even try to run them on Windows XP is a significant exercise.

Could you tell it that mean you by "It is still coming up with this message", is asking if you want to uninstall Makin ' Magic?  If so what options does it?

Although I would also like to get the Sims 2 and Sims 3 are much better games. :-)

  • My DVD/CD drive does not work in Windows 8 Professional, and it ISN'T a hardware problem.

My DVD/CD drive does not work in Windows 8 Professional with or without data or audio in it. However, if I turn off the PC with a bootable CD/DVD in there, the PC recognize the media and initiate the CD when turned on. This confirms that the DVD/CD drive actually works, but for some stupid reason, Microsoft Windows 8 Professional will not recognize the same DVD/CD player it loaded since! Thanks again Microsoft for another product of shit. Now, how are you going to fix this? And how are we supposed to run things such as WordPad or paint, etc. I predict that Windows 8 will fall faster than Windows Me!
