Windows XP system repair

I can't boot my system missing windows system config. Cannot get to the windows screen to perform the operations advised what I would do.

Assuming that you probably mean \windows\system32\config\FILENAME the article below may apply.  There are easier ways to use the Recovery Console (connect a player to another machine or by using a bootable OS CD) if it is convenient for you.  Also note that this is sometimes caused by a hard disk issue that should always be checked in conjunction with the repair.

If you have a friend with Windows 7, a repair disc can be done.  There used to be a download for the system repair disc, but it was taken down, so you need a working Windows 7 PC group to make.  A Windows 7 installation disc can also be used - boot the disk and choose repair instead of the installation of the screen after the first screen.

  • Unable to create a Windows 7 system repair disc

Hi, I see a lot of posts on this topic on the internet, and sometimes, people seem to be able to find a solution by uninstalling specific software, etc., but there seems to be a generic instability. I have a new installation of windows 7 64-bit, fully updated, but am unable to create a repair disk through the normal channels (maintenance, backup & restore, or directly in the command prompt). They seem to everyone to start the same program, that is not instantly with the message "ERD of Microsoft Windows has stopped working" - a shaded box indicates the dialog to select a drive, is nothing to do with the output device, but immediately an error. I guess I can create a disc by various ways of downloading, but Microsoft is not possible to debug the issue? -It is very unacceptable to have no indication as to what went wrong. I see other people have provided extensive debugging information, but as far as I can see no expert never responded with an analysis of these data, except to the list of ordinary forms of the program to failure!

When you select the option to create an ERD, the first window should allow you to select the destination dvd player. Are saying you that you do not get it right? Its actually under control panel > system and security > backup & restore

Also, I guess you want to tell your restore disk of PC makers, from the hidden restore partition to create. If this is the case how do you create the recovery disk depends on the manufacturer of the PC, this isn't an option of victory

  • Windows 7 - Startup Repair

    Separated from this thread.

Well, the computer had problems in the past as not having spent my home screen, but it was not too bad before. After some few downloads, the computer suddenly stopped working or has worked very slowly. Then, I turned it off. I tried to run the Startup Repair tool, but there is no that get stuck on a screen. I tried the mode without failure, boot, logging, and the last known good configuration, but the same error message popped up. I even tried the option to restore memory and he has not been able to pick up something wrong. My computer is a Windows 7. Now, you will be able to help me, or is my computer gone for good?

    Hello

Startup Repair works often from an Installation of Windows 7 or Windows 7 disc
ERD when it does not value or a recovery disc. If necessary
How a Windows 7 repair disk is below. An ERD can be made
on any computer with a CD burner running Windows 7, Vista or XP because it uses
No files from the host computer.

You can try some of them in Mode safe - tap F8 repeatedly that you start.

If you do not have a Windows 7 disc, you can borrow a friends who are not
protected against copying. The manufacturer of your system will also sell cheap since physical DVD
you already have windows. You can also do an ERD on another computer.

Try the Startup Repair - (if at ANY time benefit you from some, but not full access to the Windows)
Go back and try again to startup repair.)

  • Create the system repair disc

I can't do a Windows 7 system repair disc.  I get the following message:

System repair disc could not be created

The disc has no burn checking and may pass
contain corrupted data or be unusable (0xC0AA0007)

To work around the problem, I could use a system repair made on another computer disc, but I have some questions about it.

Is a system of specific computer system repair disc?  Should be used on the computer that actually?

A system 10 Windows repair disk can be used on a Windows 7 computer?

A Windows 7 system repair disc can be used on a computer of 10 Windows?

    I'm stuck.  Help, please.

    UPDATE:

II found the cause of my problem and now I want to pass the information to all those who encounter this problem on similar computers.

The computer is a RC210G-old Sony Vaio VGC, which is a strange beast, indeed.

The computer originally had Windows XP MCE on it and a BIOS that begins with PR94510J.04T.0096

This computer has a few tricks RAID on the motherboard, and any settings in the BIOS or Windows, empty DVD players are not recognized.  So the solution to my problem is to put a disk used in the drive to DVD - RW and THEN launch the utility to do a system repair disc.  Once the drive appears and I am asked to put a blank disc in the drive, eject the disc used and put in a vacuum before clicking CONTINUE.

If I followed the above procedure, the disc manufacturing process goes as it is supposed to.

    Thank you for your attention.

To get all the features of a repair disc, you must create it on any machine with the same width (32 or 64-bit) bus and under the same version of Windows.

Disks of repair carried out under different versions of Windows can also be used, but they offer reduced functionality. The work of the command but prompt the system restore will not.

  • Failed to create system repair disc__

I am using windows 7 Home Edition, where im trying to do a repair system on a cd - rw disc. I insert a blank cd, then goto the menu to create an ERD, where I select to create the disc. the tool runs for about 5 minutes, and the progress bar gets about 3/4 of the full path when an error saying:

System repair disc could not be created
The unit refused to accept the order within the time limit. This may be caused by the device after you have entered an inconsistent state, or the value of the timeout for the command may need to be increased. (0xC0AA020D)

I tried several times and have not been able to create a disc.

I have exactly the same issue. Anyone can shed some light on this?

Also, when I tried to get the formatted disk (DVD - RW), Windows 7 "cannot complete the format."

The aforementioned dwonloadable recovery disk is no longer free. And new discs are out of reach for me now.

    Eventually, I discovered why.

It's because I forgot to install the driver supplied by the manufacturer, to the same SATA II, which governs my DVD burner, so let Windows 7 have no choice but using its own standard driver.

After you have installed the required driver, the Windows 7 system repair disk was created successfully.

I think you are missing the distinction between the different types of public services.

An ERD we give the ability to repair the functionality of Windows startup.  It will not reinstall Windows.

You can download an iso of Windows 7, but will format the entire drive and does not return your laptop to factory State.

Only all HP usb media recovery or recovery disk will do

You cannot reinstall Windows without deleting and recreating the partitions of the hard disk.

  • Cannot create disk to repair Windows 7 system on the new Dell 8700

Just took delivery of a XPS8700 with Windows 7 installed.  There is no restore hard disk partition.  I created a backup and a System Image using the W7 backup and restore program.  When I tried to "create a system repair disc", I got the following pop - up. "Microsoft Windows repair disc has stopped working" and had to close.   I have W7 on three other computers in our House and have never met him this before.  Since the 8700 has not come with disks of windows, I'm afraid that I can't do a repair disc.  Would appreciate any direction because I am not having any luck.  The only thing I could do is to create "A disc Reinstall Windows."  Thank you.

My Windows 7 operating system has just decided he wasn't more "authentic." I thought I fixed it, but he came back. I have to do a system repair/restore/etc?  Should I still worry about this or the police will come knocking at my door?

Looks like you used a disc at retail to install with the OEM SLP key. An OEM SLP key works with your media recovery of manufacturers. (an OEM SLP key can be activated by normal means).

the simple solution is to change your product key to the one on your COA.
EDIT: Oops. must have been click Start, type slui 3, press on enter

    Additional information:

Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:

OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. (that's why you had no need to turn on your computer after you brought it home)

COA SLP: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or at the bottom, [or in the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but must be used only in certain situations (for example, if the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone. (Note: all manufacturers that use the SLP OEM system are bound by contract to include a certificate of Authenticity sticker (COA), which has a COA SLP key, on the computer)

  • EliteBook 8570w system repair disc Windows 7

    Hi all

I wanted to do a repair disc Windows on my Elitebook 8570w system. It's pretty easy because Hp has a program called Hp Recovery Disc Creator that accomplishes this task for you. It gives you a possibility to burn a Windows disc and a driver disc. What HP calls the Windows disk is the system repair disc.

Now, my problem is that the Windows disk does not work correctly (no idea why). When booting from the DVD screen guard stuck to Windows is loading files... Also when I try to run the installer from the DVD, I get error messages that says 'F:\Sources\autorun.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.' and after 'the file 'autorun.dll' could not be loaded or is corrupt. Setup cannot continue. Error code is [0xC1]"because I had all of a sudden to make the drive I can't simply make another DVD.

Then, I tried to let Windows do the repair system itself disc (help to create a system repair disc). However, I get a different error message: "the parameter is incorrect (0 x 80070057).» Some people suggest that HP Recovery Disc Creator has "hijacked" the function "Create a system repair disc" window and this is what causes the problem. If HP does not give me a second try, and it prevents Windows to give me a second try as well! Then, perhaps to remove HP Recovery Disc Creator would work. However, it does not list in programs and features and I can not find an uninstall file in its directory.

When you try to find a solution I came across a guide to create a boot Windows 7 Installation USB drive (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2432-usb-windows-7-installation-key-drive-create.html). She is to copy the files from the installation of the USB disk. Step 21 details the files that are on the installation disc. They are the same as on my system repair disc.

Download an image of the installation disk so the same as downloading an image of the system repair disc? (I download an atm file but don't know if that makes sense) If not, are there other options to create a new system repair disc? Maybe somehow Uninstall HP Recovery Disc Creator or he fool into thinking I have not yet tried to do a Windows disc? Where can I download a disk image of the repair system somewhere online (I found most of the links are dead)?

Please let me know if additional information is required! Thanks in advance!

    Michael

TLDR: burned a disc repair system, the disk is not working properly, HP and Windows will not let me try to burn again. Other options?

    Hello:

You can probably make an ISO file of the version of W7 Pro you must go to the link below.

Use the SP1 media files regenerate.

    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/14709-Windows-7-Digital-River-direct-links-multiple-languages-x86-amp-x64/page59?p=470600&viewfull=1#post470600

Use the W7 Pro from the bottom of the laptop product key to activate the installation.

This tool allows to transfer the ISO to a flash DRIVE or a DVD drive.  The tool also performs the bootable file.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Your other option would be to order a series of W7 for your PC recovery discs, by contacting HP for the country that you live in the link below.
