Driver installation dates

How to find the date a particular driver was installed? I am running Windows Vista Home premium sp 2. I can find the version number of pilot and the date of the revision in the Device Manager - properties, but not the date on which it was installed on the pc.  I also tried the event viewer but could not identify installation dates here either. I'm getting to diagnose and resolve blue screen issues that may be related to drivers and would like to determine if an update of the HP driver could be the cause of the problem. I don't want to do a rear roller until I have determine the date on which it was installed.

I watched for a while and went completely through the Device Manager and it seems that the date of the installation is not something that keep the system.  I can see where this could be useful, and I'm frankly surprised to discover this (I never looked before is was never occurred to me it would not available if I wanted to) - I think it's a bug in the system (it SHOULD keep this date and display it in the properties of the device driver as well 40 other items it displays most of which have no meaning for me).  It seems that it does not record the cancellation date (or the date of the driver has been installed) - more information that might be useful at times like this.

Is what device?  If you do the restore and it no longer functions, you can always reinstall the most recent version to find the feature (or download a new copy from the manufacturer of the computer or the device manufacturer sites).  Of course, you don't want to do it with some devices because you may lose your ability to start successfully and even not need to re - install to get it back (for example, I wouldn't do with the motherboard or the processor, but I would have no problem with the CD/DVD device or even the video card {if the latter can be tricky and you have to start in safe mode use out-of-date drivers to get the basic functionality until solve you the problem}).  Are you sure the HP update that you have installed is compatible with Vista and is the most recent available - it might be useful a check on the HP site just to be safe.  Download and install a new copy also could not hurt where the original driver file has been altered somehow.

The blue screen has a lot of information about it (for the most part difficult to read because it's in the code), but him, you can usually identify the device (or at least someone can).  The following software http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html can help that process of identification (at least to freeze the screen so he's not flash and perhaps in other ways as well).  You can use Bing or Google (I personally prefer Bing but that's just me) to search for the error code (for example, 080070f04) or even the error message (even if it is not as good but worth it if the code does not help) and it will pull up a bunch of links referring to this error code.  Often, you can find the answer you are looking for here - this is how I do it when I get a question here on a problem of error code.  It can save a lot of time if you know in advance which device is causing the blue screen and it's a way to experience (rather than test each driver).  It can even be a pilot.  It can be a real hardware problem and check the drivers will do nothing to solve that.

There are several devices, you can check on a PC without special equipment or the ability to change the part with a known good part, but I have the means to check the hard drive and RAM.

To test your hard drive, check the manufacturer and then get the diagnostic utility of: http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/hard-drive-support/302602-hard-drive-diagnostic-utilities.html.  If she failed the test, replace it.  If she passes the test, then it's probably nothing wrong with it.

You can also test your RAM to http://www.memtest.org/.  If it fails, test each piece individually to find those who are bad and replace.  If it passes, the RAM is probably OK.

I'm sorry I couldn't answer your question to your satisfaction (I don't show you how to get the dates), but I don't think that information is saved - unless he buried somewhere in the registry to which case honestly, I do not know how to find it (but I doubt that or they afficheraient in Device Manager because it serves nothing hidden).

I hope this helps.

The problem is that HP stopped supporting this particular Windows XP device - in fact, in view of the date that the latest driver Windows XP is out (December 3, 2001), they have barely supported it under Windows XP.

I'd say you're probably out of luck (time for a newer printer?) if their method to operate on Windows 7 64-bit on this web page is not printing of certain abilities. Basically, you plug it in, let it start to install the driver, choose to download from Windows Update for drivers more, choose the closest to you and go with it.

  • Qosmio F60 - Intel graphics driver installation error

    Hello

Some time ago I managed to destroy my Nvidia 330 M graphics card.
I don't know what exactly happened, perhaps overheated, I just BSOD and then my system reported ERROR 43.

I reinstalled entire windows by default with toshiba drivers but without success, the card did not work.
I uninstalled my laptop Nvidia drivers, so my graphics card is "Standard VGA graphics card".

I tried to find a way around, and I realized that I can use the graphics processor instead.
I have Intel i5 - M430, so I tried to install the graphics driver intel HD only to get an error "does not meet the minimum requirements of the system.

Can someone help me with this problem please?

    Hello

Processor Intel Core i5 - 430 M (3 m Cache, 2.26 GHz) takes in charge the first-generation Intel HD graphics unit.
The driver could be downloaded from the Intel driver page and you will need to choose the right
    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/

Graphics-graphics drivers for laptop-Intel Core processors with Intel HD graphics card > >
Now you should get a list of the different drivers for different system.

Choose and download the latest driver for the system you are using.
    Note: choose the ZIP package.

Then uncompress the package somewhere on the HARD drive (I prefer the office). Then go to Device Manager and choose the graphics card (Standard VGA graphic card)
Now choose the driver installation and use the Advanced installation. This allows you to point to the driver package that you have unzipped on the desktop.

This installation procedure should work very well because he worked also in my case.

    Hello!

This looks like your username to long and the path of files extracted more than 88 characters.
I think you should change your username or try with another account to update the driver, for example the admin account.

If it doesn't work try to download the driver again.

  • Re: Satellite P100-160 - failed display driver installation

    Satellite P100-160, PSPAAE, 32-bit vista.

Today, Aero is not working and not available in graphics properties. Later installed the site of Toshiba UK, 15.0.1.1114 Intel display driver. This version was actually older than my current driver but I thought that maybe she was the only availabel that it must be correct.

The driver installation failed with an error (no details don't just "year error has occurred"). Now, I don't have aero and my screen resolution cannot be set above 1280 x 800 - 1440 x 900 is expected

To say that I'm pisseed would be an understatement. Can anyone help? Thank you

    Hey,.

If Aero is not available I think that it s display driver problem

In any case, did you remove the old display driver before installing a new? Go to Device Manager > right click on the graphics card > uninstall. After the restart the display driver must be uninstalled and you can start with the display driver installation.

If you install drivers make sure you are logged in as administrator and antivirus/firewall is disabled. Reboot once again and you should be able to choose the native screen resolution now.

  • Envy 17 j120na: 10 Windows will not start because of the driver installation failed

    History:

I have a computer laptop j120na Envy 17 that came with windows 8.1.

I did the free upgride for windows 10 the 18th of this month with success, but because I was not able to decrease or increase the brightness of my computer, or put it to sleep, I realized that I still had to download/update drivers. First I updated the driver GeForce since my SWsetup folder but for the other, I searched online for her, then I saw the driver download progress bar but no progress has been made. I closed the dialog close and there you go, laptop does not start, I just saw a spark between the mouse pointer and the circular blue contraption. Sometimes he shows me a BSOD with lock core auto boost with irql higher acquisition.

    Question:

Is this a problem with the driver installation? And if so, how do I return it?

P.s: System Restore is not an option, I restore point.

    Hi there @Aj1baba,

Thank you for joining the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is a great place to ask questions, find solutions and assistance of HP and the community! I read your post on the Forums of HP Support. I wanted to join you and help! I understand that you are receiving an error message that says "acquisition of lock core auto boost with irql high ' on your HP ENVY 17-j120na Notebook PC.

The question could be deemed to occur by downloading the update. It is difficult to say at this stage. As to return to it, your best bet would have been the restoration of the system, but you mentioned only that a system restore does not work because you do not have restore points.

Have you tried to go into Safe Mode?

You have media or recovery disk?

Have you tried to do a Reset BIOS?

Have you tried perform a hard reset?

You have beep codes or flashing LEDs?

Please ensure that all Bluetooth device that you use with the laptop is disabled (including mobile phone).

Please note: delete all USB/Bluetooth devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

You can update all your drivers by going to the Web site the driver HP or by using the HP Support Assistant. If you enter Safe Mode, I suggest trying to erase the driver that you have downloaded your downloads (or the folder that you saved it in), so I suggest to make updates using updates of Windows or HP Support Assistant for now.

Please let me know if I answered your question by clicking the "Thumbs up" if the troubleshooting in this post steps solves the problem for you please click on the button "Accept as Solution" . • Creating a program the evolutionary IVI driver installation problems

I have problems when you try to create an upgrade for an IVI driver installation.
I created the installer by using the creative installer included with LabWindows/CVI 2010 IVI. In my case, I have two versions of the IVI driver DLL and configuration (1.0 and 1.1).
1.1 - the installation program was created using the option "install existing rebuild" of the creator of the installer.

    My problem is the following:

    • If the driver of the IVI is not installed the 1.1 - installation is completed without error.
    • However, if the 1.0 driver is present, the 1.1 installer gives me the error message following just at the beginning of the installation:
"Setup has detected a third party IVI driver in the directory C:\Program Files (x 86) \IVI Foundation\IVI\Bin. Please uninstall the existing driver before proceeding with this installation. »

I noticed the things so far:

    • The UpgradeCode MSI remains the same for both configurations (as expected). This seems to indicate that the installation program supports upgrades.
    • The installer contains a DLL (NiIviDriverDetection.dll) used in a CustomAction to the 3rd party.
What this DLL seems to do, is to perform a control version of the currently installed driver IVI DLL (1.0 in my case).
According to the results of this audit, the installation process is abandoned.

If everyone has noticed this behavior or anyone has any suggestions on how to create an IVI driver installer which can be upgraded without uninstalling the old version first?
Maybe I put just an evil version information field, but I do not know that which (if any)...

    Advice would be greatly appreciated!

I seem to have found a solution:

The problem is that the MSI CustomAction, seeking a third drivers IVI (DetectAction.C1C4DD2F_AD86_44E6_BA47_FC41E5C0DAAF) is performed before the FindRelatedProducts Action.

So the DetectAction is not ignored if an older version of the IVI driver is located (looking at the MSI tables clearly was NEITHER).

Move the sequence numbers of the 103 to 107 behind the FindRelatedProducts Action InstallExecuteSequence shares both InstallUISequence tables (for example starting at 370) will make it possible to do an upgrade of an IVI driver installation.

This can be accomplished using the Orca tool included in the Windows SDK.
