  • My solution for No Audio - drivers Conexant and Windows 7 x 64

    My son and I have the laptop L2000 comes with 32 bit XP and used the audio Conexant chipset. I had been using a SB Audigy PCMCIA card so I don't know when the Audio is really off. However, he noticed when I upgraded his PC. I went through different forums looking for 64-bit Windows 7 for Conexant audio drivers but nothing helped. Microsoft and Conexant both said that HP should provide the drivers. By the way HP, the Conexant site says that they provide no drivers, although they make the chipsets 'at the request of the OEM." Another post said that HP will not have to provide these drivers for Windows 7. The HP solution for my model and Windows 7 has been the "HP Software Advisor" who was 67 MB and totally unnecessary. It seems that it is a very common problem. In any case, here's what you do:

    First of all, you need 2 files that come quite ironically HP, they are SP35558.exe and SP35558.cva they contain drivers for Vista x 64 Conexant. (Later, I found the 32-bit drivers and the procedure should be very similar, except that the files are SP34789.exe and SP34789.cva). Type the following command in your browser address bar ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/ to half way down you will find the subdirectory with these files. Just right click on them and save it on your desktop.

    Double-click on SP35558.cva and tell Windows to use Notepad to open it. Scroll to halfway down to "[Operating Systems]" and after 'WV64UL = OEM' insert:
    W764HB = OEM
    W764HP = OEM
    W764PR = OEM
    W764UL = OEM

    (For systems 32-bit using W732HB = OEM, etc.).

    I then went up to about 10 lines "[system information]" and added

    SysId3 = 0 x 3091
    SysName3 = HP Pavilion ze2000 series
    SysId4 = 0 x 3096

    SysName7 = series Compaq Presario M2000
    SysId8 = 0 x 3093
    SysName8 = series HP Special Edition L2000

    I got this information from another cva file on my PC to C; / / swsetup, this is the directory where HP updates by default.

    After modding the cva file, I taped C; / swsetup/sp35558 /.

    Then, I run the SP35558.exe file. He failed the first time, I missed a line in my cva file. However, I then manually installed the Conexant drivers as follows and voila I had sound, beautiful crisp clear sound.

    "" In the Device Manager, right click "Multimedia Audio Device" under the heading 'Other' and choose 'update driver' then ' Browse your PC "and"choose from a list. Select "Audio, audio and game controllers", and then Conexant 'drive '. Navigate to C:/swsetup/sp35558/and open "cp6308Ba.inf" (don't forget 64-bit). Now click 'OK' and ignore all the warnings on the incompatibility, WHQL, etc.. Give her lots of time, you might think, you are in a loop, but you're not. Congratulations, you've completed.

    I thought that to recompile my answer and then mark this thread as resolved since it was not a post about a problem, but rather how I solved a very common problem that can be beneficial to others.

    Run sp35558.exe to extract all and let write off. Then go to Device Manager and update driver manually as follows:

Select ' Audio, audio and game controllers', then 'Conexant', then 'drive '. Navigate to C:/swsetup/sp35558/and open "cp6308Ba.inf" (don't forget 64-bit). • Drivers WMP54G and Windows 7

    I have a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate that collects dust because your have not released drivers for your WMP54G. How much more, as well as the rest of the world, I have to wait for drivers?

    Linksys has no current drivers for this card for windows 7. From now on, the only card that is compatible with Windows 7 is WMP600N or WUSB600N.

    Maybe you can try www.ralink.com and see if you can find drivers for this card to work with Windows 7.

  • RAID-understanding of"relief" and Windows reinstall - final stages

    Hi all

    If you follow the couple of my other recent threads here you will see that I have a warning of a disk failing in my 4 TB raid (raid set 4 x 1 TB).

    Also, for some reason unconnected with I also need to reinstall Windows 7.  (and of course my Adobe Master collection CS5)

    I ordered a player to serve as a 'Rescue' 5th and it will happen some time today from Amazon.

    I want to assure you do correctly, the above "final" steps in the right order.

    I based my "final steps" on the advice of harm on another thread:

    > > >

    You can never be too sure with data, but if you follow the rescue, extend the raid set and rebuild the sequence, it is not necessary. Your data will be automatically reconsructed. This is the reason why you use a raid3/5.

    Your log file is a specific show a serious disk problem. Replace it, create a hot spare, extend your raid and reconstruction (it should be done automatically) and you're ready to roll

    > > > >

    (As a precaution, I made a backup of my raid on an external drive)

    So once my new hard drive arrives today on Amazon, I will, in the following order:

    (1) Replace hard drive fault.  (I have to turn off the computer to remove the failed hard drive and replace it with the hot spare?  Or I can leave the computer on for software raid to continue his CONSISTENCY CHECK as HE do all the steps to rebuild the raid - see note at the bottom of this post...)

    (2) create the hot spare

    (3) use the (Areca) Raid Controller software to EXTEND the hot SPARE

    (4) raid rebuild (it should be done automatically)

    THEN, after I confirm the raid works fine, I'll

    (5) reinstall Windows 7.

    The step below is what I'm not quite clear on:

    (6) I guess that since the raid has been rebuilt {(avant j'ai fait le windows 7 réinstaller) I can do a very simple 'reconnect' for work already raid.}  In other words, I would like to reinstall the Areca raid software (using the cd of Areca) and identify the raid and windows 7 will recognize the raid 4 TB as my raid drive.

    I am tracking the delivery of my new hard drive and there are at least 5 or 6 hours of his arrival from Amazon.

    CONSISTENCY NOTE: I have time I'll have the Areca controller software based on the web to do a CONSISTENCY check of the raid.

    It is to halfway through control and found 144 errors so far.   Consistency checking is rather vague about what he does.  But can I assume it is to find errors and correct them automatically.

    Or what I need to do something to correct errors once the consistency check is finished (this is one of the reasons why I want to avoid turning off the power during the reconstruction of the raid).  Or create the hot spare, etc will interrupt the consistency checking, which means that I have to complete verification of consistency was completely before you rebuild the raid.

    Or should I give up the consistency checking and after do I have to reinstall windows.  (If possible I would like to do this so I can with my current project!)

    What happens when a disc falls down during a parity raid?

    RAID3:

    RAID3 uses a dedicated parity disk. When a disk in the raid fails, it can be a data reader or a parity. If a data drive fails and is replaced, the failure data must be restored by the remaining disks, especially from the parity disk. If the parity disk fails, all to do is to rebuild the data parity of original drive.

    RAID5:

    Used RAID5 parity distributed, so when a disk fails, data and parity must be rebuilt on this disc. He must rebuild the data from the other parity disks and then rebuild the parity on the other data disks. Which includes a treatment more complex in a raid3 and that is why reconstruction takes more time than in a raid3.

    Reonstructing the reader has no impact on the operating system and reinstalling the operating system has no impact on the raid. Just make sure that the raid is working properly and that you have the McRasid software available for installation.

  • R610 Perc 6 / i Can I have matrix Raid and independent labels?

    My R610 with a Perc 6 / I can take 6 physical disks.  I want to create a raid 1 with the first two discs, then install 3 drive more that BONES can see and use in a storage space.  However, I can't figure out how.

    I have my setting up a raid and windows installed and I have the other 3 drives inserted, but Windows does not see them.  Maybe that's not possible, but I wanted to ask if anyone else had any ideas on how to make this work.

    Thank you.

    PERC 6 is not compatible no RAID, so if you want to use these disks separately, you must configure each as a single drive RAID 0.

  • Unrecognized works drivers and windows install on and on

    Dear Toshiba

    I need some advice and help on some problems with my laptop Toshiba Satellite L550D windows 7 (updated with windows 7 I have purchesed on your part).

    I searched on several Forums (forum of toshiba responses, Microsoft MSDN Web site), but I still have a few problems, and I do not hesitate to ask for help in this way.

    Question 1: My laptop does not recognize some drivers, and it happens as follows: I check in the Device Manager, device system, ATI i/o communications processor smbus controller, shows message: "no drivers are installed for this device. When I chek 'pilot' message: ' no file necessary drivers or embarked for this device.

    When I tried to update driver, there is automatically a message that this driver is up to date and in 'Browse my computer for driver software' we goes to the location of the driver file, and then select the driver to install, the installation of the driver, then "windows has successfully updated the driver software", has finished installing the driver for the software (see above the IO... ATI).

    After that, I downloaded all the drivers available from the Toshiba site yesterday for my OS and my product and the situation is the same, it shows NO file necessary drivers or have been loaded for this device.

    The same situation is with other equipment, as follows: timer event 2) precision, 3) numeric data processor, controller 4) programmable interrput, 5) speakers, 1 memory access controller) direct, clock system 6).

    Question 2: There is also another problem, that some downloaded drivers can be installed, as follows:

    (a) software modem of toshiba 2.2.97 (SM 2297ALDO4), message: you want to allow this program to make changes... ? I click 'Yes', but nothing happens.

    (b) parts of modem select Driver utility, it appears the message "cannot find the support device.

    (c) Mobility Center tiles pilot and driver DVD player, touch pad driver synaptics, for only three drivers there is no Install Shield Wizard on the screen, and installation does not start.

    (4) Toshiba vallue added package 1.2.25, message shows, 'Try to prepare InstallShield wizard', then 'another version of this product is already installed, installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove programs from the control panel. {FEDD27A0-B306-45EF-BF58-B527406B42C8}.

    I tried to uninstall Toshiba value added package, but it shows that Error 1612 the installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access.

    I also noticed that the existing version on my laptop is 1.2.28 (of the 06.01.2010) and this downloaded version (that cannot be installed) is 1.1.1.4.

    Question No. 3: above all that, every time I have start or restart Windows 7, it displays the message 'windows install installation preparation', short-term, then disappears, (I collapsed, then activated and restarted Windows install) and the error is not resolved.

    How to remedy?

    Thank you

    I have after reading your long post m really to wonder: what do you do?
    DERA Jelena I installed Win7 Toshiba upgrades and clean install Win7 on more than 10 different Toshiba notebooks and didn t have a problem except the feature FN keys on an old Satellite A200.

    Anyway, when you upgrade pre-installed Vista notebook with original Toshiba upgrade kit you need to just follow the instructions you have with her. Instead of the first composite (drivers) drive and it will be your system and you inform that drivers must be removed from the system before the start of the Win7 update. When the drivers and some tools from Toshiba is deleted, you must use second upgrade for Win7 upgrade disk.
    After doing this put the first disk again and check for the installation of compatible drivers.

    That is so easy to do and I don't really understand what is happening with your laptop. After reading your ad I think you've done the installation of own OS and not an upgrade. What did you do exactly? I mean after upgrade cannot be so conflicts of hardware in Device Manager.

  • Satellite L500-128 and Windows 7 drivers

    Windows 7 officially launched today and I was wondering if the drivers will be available for my laptop L500 anytime soon.
    The reason I ask is because I bought the Windows 7 Ultimate and want to implement on my laptop.

    I use Vista drivers but of course some bugs occur from time to time. Especially the value added Package Toshiva / support Flash Card Button gives me a hard time.
    It is not all the drivers for the ATI Mobility Radeon 4570 since it's a new set of chips so I edited my own driver by rewriting the INI file in the driver folder. In my hardware ID configuration.

    But anyway, when I bought the laptop he had some kind of record with him stating that I can upgrade my laptop to Windows 7. Although some drivers are still available.

    I'm probably asking what is obvious, but y at - it a date for drivers to be available?

    I'm sorry if this post has answered elsewhere. I cannot find an answer.

    Thanks in advance.

    Your laptop model will be certainly supported for Win7 and I'm sure that drivers, tools and utilities will be available soon.
    I don't think anyone here can say with certainty when exactly but I think the next few days they should be available for download.

    Hello

    I recently bought two units of 15-AF006AX HP HP model and I installed Windows 7 on a laptop computer, & Windows 8 in another laptop, but do not want to upgrade to Windows 10.

    I tried to find the drivers, but it is not clearly mentioned that the drivers are for what operating system:

    http://support.HP.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-notebook-PC-series/7771410/model/8524986#Z7_30...

    In the details section of all drivers, it is mentioned that "the pilot is for supported operating system", but the OS is nowhere specified. I've seen lots of reviews for this model of laptop that drivers available for this model to the HP Web site are for Windows 10 & with these drivers, the laptop does not its 100% if the OS is not Windows 10.

    Please someone share me the links where I can get the drivers for this model for two OS - Windows 7 and Windows 8.

    (I guess that there are separate drivers for Win 7 and Win 8)

    Thanks in advance!

    @ashu5577: you need to look more closely at the drivers and software page.

    Just below the image of the laptop, there is a line, with a light blue background, that says "your operating system: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Windows 8.1 and offshore at the right end of this line, the word CHANGE

    It shows Win8.1 for me because I am running 8.1; I'm running Win10, it would show Win10.

    You change the operating system by clicking on CHANGE and change the OS selection menu drop-down.

    Here is some other information about the Windows updates for you, I put in place some time and which you may find useful if you are having problems with Windows updates:

    Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

    You must only obtain the latest drivers for them to the site of the real hardware manufacturer, like Microsoft normally does not have these latest drivers available as Microsoft invokes the material part 3rd RTOS provide.

    But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

    You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

    'Remove an update - Windows 7'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/remove-update#1TC=Windows-7

    When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

    "How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"

    "Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

    Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

    Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

    But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    See you soon.
