• Printed output problem-RH 9 print drop-down text above its parent text. It serves out below!

  Hmmm I found a problem of bad potentionally for our printed output.

  Our documentation project uses many links of menu drop-down (hyper links where the text below the link in the next paragraph). Documentation was written with her expected the text to come out under the text.

  For example, I have this in my HR propject. When I saw, or when I compile in our output HTML Help (chm), it looks like this:

  A string of text Chain of that text a drop-down list appears here Text String B String B drop down text appears here Text of string C String C drop-down text appears here

  However, to the printed output, it produces like this:

  Chain of that text a drop-down list appears here String B drop down text appears here String C drop-down text appears here A string of text Text String B Text of string C

  This is my first generate output printed in RH 9. Previously, we were using 7 HR and aroused as planned, with the drop-down list text to come below.

  Is anyone else seeing this? Do you know a setting or something that might be able to solve this problem?

  Ok. I figured out how to fix it. This was happening in HR 7 too now that I think about it. I hope Adobe will solve this problem, because it's pretty hard to do workaround.

  Here's the background on my project and the solution to my problem.

  Background. It is a project to help straight decompiled html (chm) with high hydrostatic pressure. It was initially generated by RoboHelp 7. I am important in RH 9 to try and generated a textbook printed of this help file. So if you want to reproduce this on your end, create a test project in HR 7 with a drop down link or two. To generate a .chm file. Decompile the chm file and create a file with a LOT of HTML or MS Help Workshop hhp. Open the high hydrostatic pressure inside RH 9. Without change or save all the topics in HR immediately try to make printed output. You will see that the output below.

  Workaround. You must open the assigned topic in the WYSIWYG editor and do a simple (such as adding a space and delete), and then save them then the subject. When you generate the printed output, the drop down links put the image below the parent text. The problem is I have thousands of subjects in this project and it takes FOREVER to solve this problem. I had to resort to a macro during the night opens on each topic, makes a minor change and record before printing. I really hope that there is a way better around this in the future.

• Problems with the sorting of a table with drop-down text cells

  I have 2 subjects (among a number of topics), and each section has a table.

  I followed Mr Grainge help to sort a table without an arrow and in heading 1, it does not work as expected. When I generate my WebHelp I can click on any one of my columns will sort the data. I can see the little black arrow head and black arrow head.

  I know absolutely nothing about HTML and basically followed the instructions for help and got to work.

  The second is a little different in that has 3 columns and rows about 375. The second column contains cells with the drop down text (but not all) as some have yet to be converted.

  The questions are:

  (1) a column will sort once only. So if I click on column 1, the head of black arrow appears. Subsequently, no amount of click will change the State of the data. I can sort the data on any of the 2 remaining columns, but I can never switch between ascendants and descendants of sequence on the same column.

  (2) in Design view, I see all the data in each cell. After that I generated my WebHelp, some of the cells that contain drop-down text fields are missing. Some are, and some are not. Those who are there, work perfectly when I click on the text and the text of the menu drop-down appears. Each drop-down text field has a bookmark.

  ((3) continuous on 2) above, if I use the combination of keys ctrl-w in design, some of the cells that contain text to menu drop-down are missing (probably all those lacking in the Webhelp) and oddly, some of the borders of the cells (I used light blue) are missing. However, they are there in the WebHelp. A sample is attached.

  Get my second table to work as I had hoped would be fantastic and worthwhile so far. However, I'm not quite there yet and need your help and suggestions.

  Please see the last item in the list under the Notes. I suspect this is the problem.

• How to create a DHTML menu link drop-down text involving an object in the same section?

  Hello!

  What I want to achieve is related to a post earlier this week (trying to run 2 targets with the same trigger). The workaround is to insert a link in a menu drop-down text saying something like "Click here to see this area on the image below", but I can't get this trigger to work.

  What I did:

  1. Create as target a text box placed around the area on the image.
  2. Do trigger on a word in the text of the menu drop down.
  3. Using the drum next to the trigger, try to bind to the target.

  The link of the drum don't cross in front of the menu text editor drop-down.

  Anyway to make it work otherwise? Work at home since Tuesday, I can't.

  Here's how I'd do. I absolutely HATE this small editing window. Yes!

  Build the text you want as well as links and triggers in the main part of the subject. Overall, I'm doing this right where the drop will be finally considered. Then select this option and cut in the windows clipboard.

  Now open the cuss pesky lil of a window and select all the items inside. Paste that cut you earlier.

  I said I don't like the small window? I thought I might have.

• Enable drop-down text ring/enum selection programmatically

  Hello

  Is it possible to active the drop-down menu for a ring of text, or enum programmatically, like to point to the user to select one of the options for the command.

  I modified the example found here - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0CC5602FE23E86DA86257350004E1B6A. You will have to manipulate the position of the mouse to navigate to a specific line, but this will open the ring.

   

• Connection of a drop-down text field and box

  

  I am new to livecycle and have only used it for 2 days. I be so grateful for all the amazing expert help I found here. I think that my first form is almost over. I'm having a problem with one last question. I created a database with two fields. field 1 is name and displays a name I.E. John Doe, zone 2 is ID and contains a single string as 12345678. I created a drop down list for name and it works fine, I see all the names in the database. I then created a text field I want to show ID in.

  Example when

  Name                            ID

  John Doe 12345678

  And if another use is selected

  Name                            ID

  DOE 12345987

  How can I connect these two fields to display the correct data?

  When you have linked the drop-down list for the data connection you set the value of the element and the text of the item properties in this dialog box

  

  If you have set the value of the element to ClientID, which would get the customer name and customer id in the drop-down control on the form, then this.boundItem (xfa.event.change) when xfa.event.change contains a text value of the element will return the value of the element (or the id of the customer in your case)

• How do interactive drop down text boxes?

  As many know maybe of my recent posts, I'm pretty new to this thing any design. I get a pretty good shot of most of the things, but now I've reached a point where I am trying to create some interactive features.

  I have a page in a whish magazine iPad is a picture full page. I want to do is have a couple of buttons in random places on the photo, which when it is typed/press/pushed, place a drop-down list text and wraps what tapped/pushed/pressed once again, the text box. I don't know what it is that we call or how to do it so any help is appreciated.

  I can ot understand it myself if someone can give me a general idea of what this kind of issue and the General steps.

  You might want to try State Multi objects (States of objects).

  A State must be an empty block and the other State, a text box.

  Buttons get the 'Go to' action so that you can at different States of objects when you press on them.

  If you are really looking for a way to make interactive (HTML are), you can use HTML (5) and include it in DPS as Web content.

• Drop down (text) reference

  Hi all

  I have a drop down with the assigned two... Text and values.

  I can see the values, such as:

  var value = dropdown.rawValue

  .. but I don't know how to reference the value 'Text' (value of text being copied on the menu drop-down)

  any ideas?

• HTML RH9.0: Drop-down Text Format = (None) after upgrading to RH7 to RH9 project

  Hi all

  I'm in the process of upgrading projects RH7 (90 +) that contain more than a few "Drop-down hotspots with text.

  Before the upgrade, the dop - down text was 'Normal' style (Arial 10 PT) in a dedicated CSS. After upgrade, the style is up to (none).

  When you open the converted project, text in all styles is Times Roman. Replacing the CSS has no effect, I need to change the current CSS and change it back to 'Normal' Arial, then all of the styles in the project are correct except scrolling, text which loses all formatting (style = (None)).

  Edit the CSS reveals that the scrolling text should real and Arial but even change for a different size of police/point and back agin before application will not change overall text hot spots.

  While changing each instance is not difficult, it became VERY painful, especially when there are nested links.

  Is this a known bug or am I just lucky!

  I think that you are the lucky winner.

  Try to run the update DHTML in the Tools menu.

  Also try to generate with subjects convert RoboHelp edited ticked DHTML.

• Drop-down text excerpts?

  A user recently asked on the use of drop-down lists in the code snippets. I need to do the opposite – use excerpts from the text drop down in a help topic. Looks like it should be possible. But I have not figured out how. Anyone?

  How exactly did you try to insert code snippets into the menu drop-down?

  If you have tried the "RoboHelp" of things way just plopping in this popup window bit frustrating, you could try a different approach. Insert Snippets directly in the topic that you do not want to see them when the dropdown was clicked. Select them, then cut them in the Windows Clipboard. Then paste that into the little frustrating window. See if it holds.

  Another possible thought is that maybe create a single cell and insert them into that. Maybe the code for additional container for the table will cause the RoboHelp Editor to see things differently? But I would try the first elder.

  When you use a text field, a story appears as a drop down. Is it possible in the APEX to control this story is to say to clean it up after several records are introduced or change what is happening in it?

  I've never tried... but there is a HTML attribute forItens: AutoComplete.
  Please edit your article and on the properties of the HTML element, type the following:

  AUTOCOMPLETE=OFF
  

  This should stop the auto-completion.

• Bookmarks drop down text (DHTML)

  Hi all
  
  We connect to our application's context sensitivity and when refer us to a bookmark of HR which is located in an expanded area or drop to the bottom of the text box is not automatically expand (so it shows in fact that I need to).
  
  Has anyone met her before and managed to overcome or have I missed something?

• How can I get a drop-down text box as a form of my PDF document that I send for signature using EchoSign?

  When I create a document using a template from my library, I find that all of the text I included in the text box is scrollable and visible, but after the signing, users are not able to scroll the text and cannot see what is visible in the text box itself.

  I think that you have added the text field and you filers or adding default values (more than the size of the text field). You must make sure that the length of the text field is appropriate in order to fit all the text inside. If you enter more text that the size of the field, then the rest of the text would be cut.

• RoboHelp 11 - text menu DHTML drop-down is not displayed in the output folder

  I had this problem in almost all versions, which are currently using 11. Created new topics, imported old themes that worked, also created new projects 'test' with a subject in there with a text hotspot. That's what I do.

  1. the mouse I highlight the text that I want to use as a menu drop-down.

  2. click on DHTML > create menu drop-down Hotspot and text.

  3. enter my text in the bow of the text.

  4 compile the project and run the file and it works.

  5. I then copy all the files from my local computer to a network folder.

  6. I opened a topic with a text menu drop-down and click on the link to the menu drop down and nothing happens.

  If the hotspot link does not drop-down text box. Any ideas, I really saw a solution on this forum with the exception of re - install which may or may not work.

  To try your suggestions, I have solved my problem. Looks like when I generate my code that I have to do my output folder on the network server drive.

  What I did is generating the code on my and then local C:\ drive by copying on the network server. Some how this is something for files, don't know what, but it works now.

• Several problems with embedded DHTML menu text boxes, drop-down

  We have recently improved HR 10 HR 2015.  We know a menu dhtml drop-down text question existed prior to the upgrade and the upgrade did not fix it.  We now have a more serious problem.  We are not certain that all started with the upgrade, but we detected it after you convert our projects to HR 2015 and republish them.  I list both here in case they are connected.

  The problem known: styles of multilevel list to the level of the main topic and within the text box drop-down dhtml to first level.  However, if we add a drop-down list box text in a drop-down text box and apply a list style at several levels to the text in the drop-down text embedded dhtml, the topic seems in good shape on the Design tab, but loses the line numbers or bullets in the preview and in the published version.  No idea what would cause the list not to display properly or how to get the multilevel list styles to work in this situation?  (Yes, we know we can use styles list rather than multilevel list styles, but it is problematic, too)

  

  The novelty is that, when content is published and read in IE or Chrome (the two major browsers use customers), the drop-down text link embedded dhtml is always present, but the text in the drop-down list embedded dhtml has disappeared (for example, nothing happens when you click on the link to open the text box).  It works in preview, but not when accessed through a browser (or access to the content of webhelp after publication to a server directly from my local computer).  Any ideas on how to get it to display?  The net result for our users, is that a substantial PART of the content of the assistance amount is now more accessible.

  Here are a few things that I would consider trying.

  First, click on Tools > update DHTML and let it do its thing.

  

  A test to see if something has changed. If so, great!

  If the problem persists, open one of the samples project. Click here to see a video on how to do

  Then open Windows Explorer. Click here to see a video on how to do

  Find and copy a file called ehlpdhtm.js and return to your project and paste this file into so that it replaces the one that is there.

  Then see if things are better.
