Equium L300 - 146 T2370 Vista no wireless adapter shows

Model: Equium L300-146
OS: Vista (pre-installed)

My friend bought this laptop about 18 months ago, and it's also original

They just got wireless broadband, but it detects all networks

Look, even if the orange wireless light turns on when the switch is turned on, there is no wireless network card from the list of devices in the control panel
There is an unknown device... I wonder if it is a driver problem?

Someone has seen this and can offer advice please?

see you soon

Barry

Hello

Just a quick question: have you tried to update the driver WLAN?

You can find the latest drivers on this page:

  • Equium L300-146: noisy fan

For more than a month, I bought a Toshiba Equium L300-146.

The computer was not very hot before and the fan was quite calm, which was nice.

However, since last week, the fan is working tremendously boring ly with so much noise (like more than 3000 rpm) and made me feel so headaches.

When I use Speedfan to check the temperature, the temperature drops a bit, but it's really so loud.

    What should I do now?

    Hello

I think that is nothing unusual.
The fan must work more quickly to avoid a temperature more high which could lead to serious overheating problems.
Please don t forget that these computers laptops support high performance CPU and GPU which produce a lot of heat. This heat must be removed inside.

Of course noise could also be related to a hardware problem of fan, but the chances are very low.

  • Equium L300-146: 533 Mhz memory

My computer is a Toshiba Equium L300 with CPU: Intel T2370 bus 533 Mhz bus and Hynix ram 1 GB 667 Mhz originally come with the laptop. When I used a program like Everest and CPU - Z to check the setting of the computer, I recognized that memory running at 533 Mhz Bus. It is because of the development of bus in the Bios or is it because of the CPU Bus? I'm waiting for a valid response.

    Thank you.

Memory you run with 533 Mhz due to the limitation of the FSB.
Looks like the FSB supports 533 Mhz. memory max you can run faster with 667 Mhz, but the front side bus speed is 533 Mhz max.

  • Inspiron n4010 virtual wireless adapter shows 'unplugged', does not connect

I've scoured the web looking for a solution to this problem, found a similar question posted here, but no solution... en.Community.Dell.com/.../20263886

My friend brought me his Inspiron n4010 notebook help saying until a few months ago, he used to connect to the wifi with no problems. All of a sudden, it wouldn't show all wireless networks available no matter where she went - its wireless home network, work network and neighborhood of free wifi hotspots - none would connect. Similarly, I have tried with my home wireless network and my network wireless office without result. Connect LAN2 (for Boradcom virtual Wireless Adapter) this always as 'unplugged network Cable.

    6. I checked the Windows Mobility Center. Wireless 'tile' was where it should have, according to other messages I saw who were on this subject. Strangely, when I clicked on the button to launch under Dell - Radio control options, checkboxes Wi - Fi and Mobile Broadband have been unchecked and greyed out.

    7. I have reset the winsock catalog and restarted the computer via the elevated command prompt (Administrator)
    NET winsock reset catalog
    No change in status wireless.

    8. I disabled the Norton firewall and Windows and anti-virus to see if wireless was somehow blocked by them. No change in status wireless.

    9. I checked the Windows power plan settings to confirm that network cards did not have their power reduced. I put the adapter wireless for maximum while on battery and current performance alternative.

    10. I checked the Windows Event Viewer logs > Windows Logs > system:

I've seen repeated Scriptures error spread among the many dates of "BTHUSB (Blue Tooth adapter failed in an indeterminate way, will not be used.". The driver has been unloaded. "I saw no reference to what about wireless however.

    11. I tried to run Windows Update manually to see what, if any, driver updates it can find (using a network cable connection) and got the error 'cannot be updated because the Windows Update service is not started. I confirmed that he was released. I also manually stopped and restarted the service but continued to get the same error message. I kept the Windows Firewall and Norton Firewall (and antivirus) disabled in case they were interfereing with Windows Update, but no luck.

    12. I ran bad/ad/spyware scans with a portable version of Spybot and also a free version of SuperAntiSpyware, analyze the results showed several adware results, that have been deleted.

    13. I tried to manually configure the IP address, subnet mask and entered default gateway for IPv4 to the wireless adapter, which had been put on "obtain automatically", as it should. I also put the server DNS preferred my ISP (Comcast), then tried Google 8.8.8.8. This should have worked but the connection still showed as "cable disconnected" (why is a mistake to launch a "cable disconnected" wireless connection?)

    14. just for fun, I ran the update from the Intel driver from their site (via wired), who identified the available for graphics and Chipset updates - I've updated both, but it did not help (no surprise).

    15. I started Windows in Safe Mode with network - just as in normal mode, he showed the connection wireless as "cable disconnected".

I am open to any suggestions at this point. The laptop is out of warranty so prefer to avoid paid support, if in any way possible.

If you can get a hardware ID by activating / deactivating it on or turned off, it suggests itself wireless card is bad... Diagnostic tests could confirm this:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/F12-Preboot-Diagnostics/

You can look in the service manual to try and reinsert the card or replace it. His work a bit longer than necessary:

    http://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/Inspiron-14r_service%20manual_en-us.PDF

An easier solution if you are uncomfortable with the material of the Assembly would be to buy a USB wireless adapter.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hello

    > checked network cards and she told me works the Realtek RTL8102E Family PCI - E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0).

It is a LAN card and not a WLan card.
    You see a different device in the device-> Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802 + ECS as Manager. 11b / g 54mbps USB 2.0 Network adapter +.

  • Power connector has come loose on my Equium L300-146

    Hello

Someone can tell me, how can I take my satellite phone to bits?
Attachment of power supply located on the side is an absolute git to connect to, it is because the connector inside the laptop is loose and movements. There must be a way.

    Any info would be great

    You want to fix one?
I mean to do the portable unit must be dismantled and if you don t have any experience with it, it can be quite complicated.
As you probably know it must be done by authorized personnel only.

    What model do you have?

  • What hard drives are compatible with Equium L300-146

    Hello

I want to spend my hard drive, but I'm not sure what to choose.

Can someone tell me what would be a good choice? I think somewhere around 320 G.

    Thank you

    Hello

All hard drives 2.5 SATA must be compatible, since there is no physical limitation of the SATA HDD controller.
So, theoretically, you could take a 500 GB 2.5 SATA HDD.

    See you soon

  • User login forgotten password - how remvove he Equium L300-146?

    Help, please.
I bought my daughter a Toshiba laptop computer for her birthday, she put a password on it that she has now forgotten - would I just need to buy the recovery disk that costs £29?

    Hello

May I ask what password do you mean exactly?

Did you mean the BIOS password or the user Windows logon password?

Please post the details and perhaps the model of laptop.

  • Is Satellite L300 identical Equium L300?

    Are the same or not?

    I'm a fan of Toshiba.

1 year ago, I bought a Toshiba L30-105, which, in my opinion, was pretty good for my work. It was only ATI X200m, 80 GB and I have upgraded the memory to 2 GB bus 667 Mhz memory that work perfectly (Ram 667 Mhz 333 Mhz GPU).

1 week ago I decided to buy a new laptop for answering me work practices and I decided for Toshiba Equium L300-146, which is new and not expensive (350 pounds). However, I am totally disappointed in this respect. He has a better processor L30 and more large hard drive, however, despite the fact that a module of 1 Gb 667 Mhz has been given, the computer can only work at 533 Mhz bus (tested by CPUId 1.45). I also tested the GPU clock, which is worse than ATI X200m. Before I bought this laptop, by Googling on the internet, I've seen people say x 3100 is better than Ati X200m and Memclock/GPUclock works at 400 MHz. On the L300, it's even worse than Intel GMA950 Chipset. I'm really disappointed with what I discovered. In addition, L300 has low L30 WIndows experience index.

It's too late for me to change a new computer now. However, I wrote this hoping that TOSHIBA would have new BIOS upgrade so that the computer will completely Dram Bus 667 MHZ and better clock Mem/GPU that is indicated on the Intel Web site.

As far as I know, it should be the same. Only difference is the name of the laptop. As far as I know name that equium is used in the United Kingdom only. In other European countries, the name is satellite.
What about the performance? If I remember well L30 comes with WXP home and new satellite with Vista. You know for sure that Vista needs a lot more resources and have an active background of many processes.

I will not write here on Toshiba notebooks only, but the fact is that each laptop manufacturer install a lot of things that can slow down the operating system running and have a negative influence on the performance of the laptop. What you need to do is optimization of operating system and RAM upgrade. Good strategy each notebook and PC can work like crazy.

Please do not be disappointed. Check all installed stuff, remove things you don't need, value added package update and I am sure that the result will be much better. This model of laptop is new and I'm sure that Toshiba will offer the BIOS update in the coming weeks or months.

    Good luck!

  • Cannot connect Stor.E Wireless Adapter + 1 TB HDD in my laptop

I recently bought a Stor.e wireless adapter for use with my partner Stor.e 1 TB HDD laptop but I can't seem to connect to my laptop.

If I plug the HARD drive directly into my laptop everything appears also ok but if I connect via the wireless adapter that shows nothing. the instructions that come with the adapter are very poor, but after following the instructions stating "plug drive HARD adapter using the USB cable then plug taken adapter (AC power), the LED flashes of HARD drive and the lights on the wireless adapter showing 1, 2 green, solid = power, wireless = 3 green, strong." USB = blue.

The disc shows hard on my Android phone and the android Tablet but won't connect, when you perform a scan for wireless on my laptop devices, the adapter cannot be found.

I sent twice, the support from Toshiba on July 5 and July 10, but have not received the courtesy of a response although confirmation of receipt of my e-mail, so for them we will get back to you in the DAY a statement.

ANY help with this problem would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Stor.E WLan adapter extends a USB HDD with the ability to access data stored via a WLan connection.
This means that you must activate your WLan on your laptop and configure the Stor.E WLan adapter first.

The 3 LEDS have the following meaning:
Above 1 LED is on / off and lights up green if the adapter is running
The LED 2 is WiFi link and turns green where wi - fi access has been established.
The 3rd (first from the bottom) lights up blue when the HARD drive is mounted. Flashing LED means read/write mode.

    How to connect?
Connect adapter to Canvio Stor.E WLan adapt to the B USB 2.0 (near the reset button) microphone connector and connect the USB HDD to the type A USB 2.0 connector.

You will need to activate the laptop s Wlan and press the reset button (hold it long 4 sec). The Wireless settings, you should see the Canvio Stor.E open wireless card that you connect access point.

Then, in the Web browser using IP address: "http://198.168.65.1" to access the settings page of the Canvio Stor.E wireless adapter.

In the preview, you can see the current version of the firmware, storage devices, network access point information.

The list of devices shows detailed information on connected devices.
Within the network, you can find the devault sotre.e wireless adapter network settings

Now, you can use an Android application called Toshiba Wireless Adapter to move files on the HARD drive connected to the WiFi adapter from your smartphone.

You can also map the card wifi as a network drive in Windows system.
In type of Explorer: \\198.168.65.1. then right-click and choose map network drive.
In a new window, select the application letter to the new drive (Z) and click the Finish button.

  • Force wireless on Equium L300 - 17Q issue

Since late 2008, I have this Equium L300 BRAND / 17Q. Since my laptop wireless resistance lower then any other pc. I'm even so close to the wireless router, but it is still 3-4 bars.
I'm the only person at home using modem router
My OS is Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit, installed license. All drivers up to date.

Also why Toshiba does not provide any what BIOS more updated for this model.
The latest version of the bios dated 2008, another way 3 years ago.
Is the authorized Toshiba read these forums?

They need develop a newer bios.

If there is no reason why offer the new BIOS? Do you really think THAT BIOS is a magic bullet for every hardware problem?

The old model works well with Vista and Win7 perfectly. A few months ago, I installed Win7 32 bit on friends L300. No problem at all. One thing was embarrassing for me, and it's HARD drive.

OK I've updated HARD drive with more capacity and it was pretty hot so I put aluminum foil in order to reduce the temperature on the plastic cover.

We tested the WLAN functionality also and everything was OK. If you use the WLAN without problem I think there is no reason to panic. Have you checked all the WLAN settings on your laptop?

  • Help me to go wireless with my laptop Equium L300

I bought a new laptop Toshiba Equium L300. Yesterday I couldn't connect to my Netgear router.
It says on screen no network card installed, but in Device Manager it says everything is ok on my adapter. Which is a Realtek RTL 2 810.

It's frustrating been at it all day without success
    Help, please.

I'm not sure, but your wireless network adapter should sound like Realtek RTL8187B. The other may be the normal Lan device.

Have you checked whether it s activated by the switch of portable equipment or the FN + F8 key combination?
You can also try reinstalling the drivers wlan, you will find on the download page of Toshiba.

  • Equium L300 unable to connect to my router using wireless

I have a laptop Equium L300 and can't connect to my router using the wireless option.

I am told that the wireless feature is disabled on my pc but the switch on the front is activated.

Can connect with the cable is the wireless.

Anyone know what this could be?

Try pressing Fn + F8, only the activated Wifi become?

In Device Manager, the wireless device is reported to work ok?

Try a BIOS update as well.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - wireless adapter does not work - Vista

I recently had some problems with my laptop.
A couple of weeks, I put in a disc of OpenSuse.
It's not stable anything, but locked me out of my original Vista operating system.

I reinstallled Vista Home Basic, but there are a few problems.
Mainly, my wireless adapter does not work.

When I flip the button to turn it on nothing happens and it is not recognized in Windows.
I installed Atheros Driver, but still nothing happens, light is not yet.

    Any advice?

    Hello

First check the device-> network adapters area manager
You see the WLan card? Or the unknown device appears?

If there is an unknown device, then the WLan driver has not been installed correctly or you tried to install a driver badly these two options are possible.

Remember that your wireless network card? Maybe it was a Realtek WLan card?

If it's a Realtek WLan card, try the WLan driver from the Realtek website and look for 802.11 g (RTL8187B) chip or you will simply check the page of the European driver Toshiba too the Realtek WLan driver also appeared on the Toshiba page
