  Try the following.

  Download the Realtek Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

  When the reinstallation of Chipset is finished, stop the laptop.

  Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

  Start, then laptop and when Windows is loaded, open your download folder, right-click on the installation of Realtek Audio program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the laptop.

  Let windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking if the DTS control panel will now open Ok.

  Problem solved: I uninstalled the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (Device Manager > sound, video and game controllers) then restarted. Now it's working.

  I had the same problem with my Toshiba A 1j1 c50. My DTS sound with the equalizer did not work as well. First, I tried to reinstall the driver dts but that did not work. What DID do the work is the following: download the latest version of the driver IDT audio (not the dts driver), run it and click on repair. After you restart your laptop, you should be able to change the sound settings dts and again hear a big difference in the sound. I hope this will help you.

Receiver AV should display the symbol DTS or DD if the source has, but I can't make it work. I don't get that audio stereo via HDMI, but not DTS or DD.

  What you can try is to check the support of encoded formats.
  Start > Control Panel > Sound > reading > if no digital signal is peripheral (HDMI) listed click on it with the right button of the mouse and choose the option properties. Go to the Supported Formats tab and verify the encoded Formats it.

  15 - r014tx notebook PC HP - software and drivers

  What you want to do is to download all your drivers for your system and the operating system.  Once you have done this, then start your system in safe mode.

  HP Notebook PC - enter SafeMode (Windows 7)

  Once in safe mode, you may want to uninstall all the drivers to restart and then start in safe mode to remove the rest.  When you have all the abducted drivers then start Windows again normally.  When you are on the desktop and everything loaded now install the driver from chipset for your laptop.

  When the chipset driver is installed then restart and install the rest of the drivers don't forget to reboot between installs.
