  I have a HP Pavilion dv6700 notebook PC (product # KC313UA #ABA) & s been with windows 7. At home, I have dish network (hopper w / a joey). • Dual boot + virtual box or vmware

  I bought a new laptop with windows 7 Home premium.  I already got the dual-boot (despite the difficulties of the uEFI) with linux.
  What I want to do, comes from another partition (windows or linux regardless of the i begin) to be able to run the other inside the virtual machine.
  Both can start natively, but reboot can be sometimes annoying.  I know I can run linux with hardware acceleration (3d support and all) of my windows partition using the virtual machine;  But if I boot in linux (and this isn't a request on how to configure vmware or virtualbox, I'll figure that part out and you downloaded the documentation) windows 7 will throw a tantrum if it detects hardware vmware/virtualbox instead of normal material its expected?

  more precisely, whenever I have Exchange using windows 7 in virtualbox/vmware, to start in native mode, or vice versa, is there a need to call and explain to someone per square metre that my copy of windows is legitimate?
  (with windows xp, I think it would have been possible to use hardware profiles so I could boot natively virtually without m$ with a problem, but this feature seems to have been deleted.)

  my heart is not on assistance from vmware or virtual box, I have both and am willing to try a third option if recommended.  I just want to be able to start practically and start the same windows partition natively without having to call and activate on a regular basis.

  You should be able to use an hdmi, dvi, and port (if it supports hdcp) directly, as they were TV

  but the port hdmi or display in a computer is out only, some TV tuner boxes can support hdmi in but do not know if they could manage the hdcp encryption

  I have new Qosmio G20 I tried for awhile.
  During the recording of TV programs on the hard drive, I must say that the quality is not as good as expected (VHS quality).

  The recording quality is set to high (possible bes in MCE).
  I also burned CD and tested the quality on a DVD player
  display the image on a plasma screen Pioneer XDE-436.

  Not good!

  The quality of the tuner built (analog/digital hybrid) is not as good? (TV signal really ok - cable TV). Or MCE limited somehow?

  I recently bought a 10th G40 and I was wondering how to set up dual Tv Tuner in Windows media Center to watch and record the Tv at the same time.
  I tried to download the new driver from the Toshiba download page, but it seems to make no difference that Media Center does not give me the ability to configure 2 tuners.

  You can find this info:
  + Reading and TV recording features require a USB TV tuner or external. Supports up to two TV tuners +.

  So in my opinion, you cannot record TV and watch another channel at the same time using only the internal TV tuner.

• Qosmio F30-112: no color when I watch TV programs

  I have a new F30-112 (I just bought), I live in Saudi Arabia.
  And I bought the main local agency in Saudi Arabia.
  It also has the label saying "Approved for sale in the Middle East"

  The problem: when I used a TV Tuner for watching TV, I can watch the scenes, but without color.
  There seems to be a problem of color system (pal, NTSC,...) I try both systems, but no diferent.
  Also I change color signal source system (when I connect a tv tuner to my decoder (TOP - BOX)) DVB - sat.

  Also, I try to watch using the composite port and the same problem occurred.

  Note: I tried both of the MCE MyTV program AND WinDVD Creater to adjust the color
  but the same problem (no color)

  Please I hope to have the help guys or a tv tuner will help.

  Have you tried entry vdeo S on your toshiba and S-video output from your source (external tuner/box)?
  If you have disabled video S on both sources, you can see black and white
  Have you tried cable component video RGB and? black and white?

• 'TV' must be set on channel 39. How do I do this in Media Center?

  I have a tuner box in another room and the coaxial TV cable that I'm running on my computer must be somehow on channel 39.  Kind of like how a TV used to have to be given to channel 3 or 4 channels for a VCR to work with the TV.  Somehow, I have to get my PC card to be granted to channel 39, so that I can then browse channels. I have a box in one piece only that goes up to three TVs. Must be set to channel 10, one at 23 and the last for the channel 39.

  I can't seem to find information on what I could use this port for so I was wondering if someone could enlighten me. Specifically, I was hoping that he could've able to do the following. My TV provider digital tuner box using HDMI to connect to the TV. I was wondering if I would be able to snag one of the digital tuner until the HDMI in port on the computer and use it as a monitor for the tuner box?

  Yes, you should be able to do. Let me mention that I did on a XPS One 2720 system and the video was nice connecting the my set - top box HDMI signal. However, the audio did not work. In theory the HDMI can carry video and audio signals, so I don't know what the problem was. But the video part worked fine.

  -All windows updates have been applied, and all drivers are up to date.

  -All signs point to a problem with the windows media center software. Perform an internet search this question gives to think I'm not the only one having this problem but I can't find a solution.

  Someone please help.

  I had the same problem with TDT, Eleven and One HD, after many, many hours of searching I found a working driver.

  I think that this driver is at NXP for a version of Phillips of the card.

  This driver is x 64, and it works for Windows Media Center on Windows 7.
  Nevermind Compro were too useless to fix their product.

  This work around will allow you to receive specific alerts for e-mail and messages from specific senders:

  (Works with OS 4.2 and later)

  1. go to the profiles on your BlackBerry and create a custom profile, naming the name of your sender targeted.

  2. Edit and change the custom ringtones that you prefer for this contact message notifications, Messages of level 1, MMS, phone and SMS for this profile. You don't change things like the calendar, tasks, and Messenger alerts do not matter for individual users.

  3. once all your ringtone settings are defined for the new custom profile, save the changes. Now, you will be in your list of profiles and see your customized profile that there are listed with the standard.

  4. now click on the wheel, and then select new Exception.

  5. title except for what you want (would be smart to again name the name of this particular contact).

  6. in the line, click the trackball or trackwheel and select the user in your address book. They should show now in your line.

  7 scroll to the bottom and change the option use the active profile in your custom group newly created profile.

  8. you can dislodge the "Custom phone Tune" box if you already have a custom phone tune for this contact, or leave it and set it in the new custom as well profile.

  9 save the changes.

  Now once you have followed these for each SMS contact - click Save as indicated by the number nine.  Go back to your profile and click on normal or hard for the sound profile. Make sure that you have all of the exceptions already in your area of exception for those you did a SMS tone for. If you do, remove them so you your SMS does not work.  You can actually set your ringtones under each one that you set up as well. When you change your SMS sounds, you can click on the phone and change your ringtone to that specific one.  Hope you can understand this.

  I downloaded 3 ringtones for my 8320.  I tried to put ringtones customized for specific people.

  I went to the list of contacts - edited my contact and apply a custom ring tone.

  Then in the box - less advanced - profiles I tried specifying "use an active profile EXCEPT for: and selected the friend I assigned a specific ringtone."

  When my phone rings that person or I receive an SMS on their part... It still sounds generic ringtone for all calls and sms.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Welcome to the blackberry forums.  Ringtones ringtones and SMS are set up differently as my friends shared above.  I agree with JSanders, SMS is a bit complicated, but once you get the hang of it - it won't take you long!  It took me awhile to do - but I did it! I followed these sub JSANDERS management.

  Hi all. New Blackberry user here. Just got the unit yesterday and spent a few hours trying to get everything put in place.

  The problem I have is trying to get my notifications customized to work with my contacts.

  OK, so here we are:

  A sender sends me a text or email and I want to let Notifier_ChiGong as the sound for them.

  B the sender sends me a text or email and I want to tell you its A on my media card to play for them.

  Now, I want all the other texts and emails from all over the world (on or not on my contact list) to play lets say its B on my media card to play for these.

  When I get a voice mail notification, I would sound completely different, let's say C sound of my media card to play in this one.

  I tried establishing exceptions and everything, but nothing works... All emails texts and voicemail notifications the same b strong and healthy parts.

  I searched the forums, but I can't understand this thing for the life of me. Everything else is coming for me as I continue to play with the device. I also spent 2 hours last night manually keying in my contacts in this unit, because my previous phone was not a smartphone, and I didn't Sync in my email software and destroy my many lists of various contacts...

  Andy help would be greatly appreciated.
