duplicate/clone database recovery failed, but backup total available (ORA-19505, ORA-17503)

Hello

I'm 11 GR 2. I ran a duplicate of RMAN database ABCD01P with the simple script:

DUPLICATE THE TARGET DATABASE TO "TESTBKP' OF THE ACTIVE DATABASE.

It ran fine for about 3 hours and ended in failure, after all my 175 data files

have been copied to the destination host, when you start to recover. The log shows:

...

Any idea?

Thank you very much...

Hi Seb,

I've seen similar error reported when there is simultaneous backup running operation.

Make sure to run twice at a time when there is no alternative transaction.

Thank you

    Usually, you need to specify the redolog online there in the last file to work around this error.

  • Computer needs a new recovery disk, but none is available.

    Our computer (desktop Compaq Presario SR2010NX PC) was recently taken to Best Buy to get fixed because the computer does not illuminate. They told us that he had to use the recovery for Windows Xp home edition disk to repair the computer. We have not and we cannot find them online. However, I have a new copy of Windows 7 and a recovery for Windows XP to another computer disc. I was wondering if I'm unable to find a recovery for this specific pc disk could I just use the Windows 7 disc or a disc of recovery for another computer.

    According to specifications, your computer will only support Windows 7 32-bit and most likely will not support Windows 7 64-bit at all. To fully support Windows 7 32-bit will require some hardware upgrades. Using another computer recovery discs is also in contrast to work. Recovery discs again to check the motherboard of the computer and hard drive to match the information before proceeding with the recovery of the computer.

    You can buy recovery discs for your computer from ComputerSurgeons.com for about $27

  • v$ used_urec of the transaction, but the total available urec?

    Hello
    I wonder if I can know how much urec (records cancel or cancel block) I've got like database in full.
    So if the transaction $ v used_urec = 1000, I know it's 10% off all available records.
    DB is 9.2.0.8.
    Kind regards.

    Cancellation files can be any size around 100 bytes of a block entires, so there is no measure that you can apply. You can consider only the number of undo blocks, which is about the same as the number of blocks of cancellation in the tablespace, undo that you use.

    well let me know what command should I use to do the archivelog backup if it is not present in our existing backup, restore and recover up to what sequence and thread

    Can you restore your backup to tape archivelogs and apply them manually to the restoration of the database?

    list backup of archivelog from the logseq in the error message to check if they are available. And what type of device. You may find that they are available on the device of type TAPE (SBT) but you specified the device DISC type in the command duplicate.

    As long as you have the archivelogs need supported somewhere, you can restore it and apply then having the OPEN RESETLOGS command completed successfully

  • The database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error 509

    Hello

    The database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error 509

    In the Event Viewer, I had this error SEVERAL times every second.  He goes absolutely crazy.

    I don't know what to do with it.

    I'm with Windows 8 Pro running on a very stable computer with 8gig of ram, plenty of hard drive space.  Each single drivers updated Windows Update.  Everything is really clean except this error in Event Viewer

    Svchost SRUJet (1624): database recovery/restore failed with unexpected-509 error.

    Task category: registration/recovery

    Esentutl /p /r tried / everything but nothing wrong was found with those

    Thanks for any help.

    Exactly the same problem, nothing Microsoft recommended was the cause, scannow and DISM commands are returned without error.

    So I went to the event viewer and scrolled down to find, when these errors began to occur. So I found a few entries initially saying things like: an attempt to move the file 'C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB.log' to 'C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB00008.log' failed indicating system 183 (0x000000b7) error: "cannot create a file when that file already exists.

    Then, I went to C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\ and removed the files listed (e.g., EDB00008.log).

    Bingo, the errors will stop immediately.

  • duplicate database 10g using the backup of the previous incarnation

    Hello

    Database is 10.2.0.4.

    At the point where X, I did a full backup

    To the X + 10 poin I flashed of database back to time X + 5

    Database currently is runnig. So now we are at the point in time X + 100

    Now I need to duplicate the database to point in time X + 100 using the above mentioned full backup (full backup set in point in time X, then, before the return of flame)

    I could use the normal procedure:

    connect the target

    auxiliary connection

    to connect to the catalog

    allocate channels

    together until...

    data duplicated blabla

    Or do I have to do different steps?

    Thank you very much in advance, massi

    The FLASHBACK DATABASE would have required an ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS open the database.  This command would have changed the incarnation of the database.  If all subsequent recovery logs and the database itself are another incarnation - a future incarnation until the return of flame.  The flashback prior backup controlfile is NOT aware of the subsequent incarnation!

    After you have installed the XP SP3.

    How can I fix this error.

    Media Center worked fine until I installed SP3.

    Hello

    I imagine the inconvenience that you have experienced, but don't worry, we are here to help solve the problem and guide you in the right direction.

    Ehshell.exe is a Windows system file that is used to run Microsoft Media Center. It is not a critical system file. However, the ehshell.exe file can become infected and cause errors trying to run certain programs. If the ehshell.exe is absent, it can also cause errors. Reinstall a clean copy of ehshell.exe with the Microsoft System Restore.

    (a) click on the "Start" menu, then click on "programs". Scroll down and click on "Accessories," then "system tools." Click "System Restore."

    (b) click on 'Next' in the system restore window to view a list of points of restoration which has been archived.

    (c) select a restore point created before the ehshell.exe file becomes corrupt or got deleted. If no restore point until this time is listed, click on "Show restore points more" to select the one that is before this date. Click 'Next' to choose which restore point.

    (d) click on 'Finish' to start the system restore. The computer will restart once the process is complete and the ehshell.exe file is reinstalled.

    If the problem persists, follow these steps:

    You try to run the following commands to re-register all Media Center services:

    (a) close Media Center

    (b) click on the start menu, choose run and type cmd , and then press ENTER.

    (c) in the command prompt, run the following commands to type (or copy/paste) the one at a time and press on enter:

    · Regsvr32.exe atl.dl

    · C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehl Sched /unregServer

    · C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched/service

    · C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr /unregServer

    · C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr/service

    · C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe /unregServer

    · C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe/regserver

    · C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe /unregServer

    · C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe/regserver

    · Restart the Media Center

    Hope this helps and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help you.

  • can't understand why an extract of the database restore fails (missing archive logs)

    Dear,

    I'm completely back up my database ensures every night with following statement.

    full backup AS BACKUPSET COMPRESSED ORCL_FULL_STBY format database tag ' / oradata/archive/fast_recovery_area/%d_%T_%s_%p_FULL_STBY' more tag ORCL_FULL_STBY archivelog delete all entries;

    I wanted to check with 'restore... Preview' if my backup is good enough to restore the database from scratch.
    result = failed!
    Reason:
    "any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 65 and YVERT departure from 49020676 found to restore."

    I have read the documentation oracle and articles for days, but I did not understand that even though I take online backup yesterday if I want to restore my database today I still need archival newspapers last month?

    can you please review my analysis and tell me where I am doing wrong?

    for example a piece from my last backup;

    Time of accomplishment BS key Type LV size device Type elapsed time
    ------- ---- -- ---------- ----------- ------------ ---------------
    1008 full 199.25 M DISK 00:04:44 October 8, 15
    BP key: 1010 situation: AVAILABLE Tablet: YES Tag: ORCL_FULL_STBY
    Item name: / oradata/archive/fast_recovery_area/QIPDB1_20151008_1057_1_FULL_STBY
    List of defined backup data files 1008
    Name of file LV Type cash SNA cash time
    ---- -- ---- ---------- --------- ----
    50570723 full 1 8 October 15 /oradata/data/qipdb1/system01.dbf
    4 integer 50570723 8 October 15 /oradata/data/qipdb1/users01.dbf

    as you can see "Cash SNA" is 50570723 so tells me that my understanding if restore these backups I need archived newspapers on top of the YVERT.
    for me the best candidate is

    Time of accomplishment time BS key size Device Type
    ------- ---------- ----------- ------------ ---------------
    65,25 M 1004 00:01 DRIVE: 24 OCTOBER 8, 15
    BP key: 1006 situation: AVAILABLE Tablet: YES Tag: ORCL_FULL_STBY
    Part name: /oradata/archive/fast_recovery_area/QIPDB1_STBY/backupset/2015_10_08/o1_mf_annnn_ORCL_FULL_STBY_c1dkfw9k_.bkp

    List of newspapers archived in backup set 1004
    The next time that THRD Seq YVERT low low time next YVERT
    ---- ------- ---------- --------- ---------- ---------
    1 79 50310555 7 OCTOBER 15 50570723 8 OCTOBER 15

    BUT out of "restore...". Preview' RMAN stil tells me that

    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 65 and YVERT departure from 49020676 found to restore
    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 66 and YVERT departure from 49020693 found to restore
    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 67 and YVERT departure from 49020696 found to restore
    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 68 and YVERT departure from 49020761 found to restore
    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 69 and YVERT departure from 49020836 found to restore
    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 70 and YVERT departure from 49020919 found to restore
    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 71 and YVERT departure from 49021021 found to restore
    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 72 and YVERT departure from 49155291 found to restore
    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 73 and YVERT departure from 49324912 found to restore
    any backup log archived for thread 1 with sequence 74 and YVERT departure from 49498102 found to restore

    When I look at V$ ARCHIVED_LOG I see seems indeed to these archived logs removed for cause of "more tag ORCL_FULL_STBY archivelog delete all entries ' that they have been deleetd after saving.
    and because of my retention policy and script; I remove the logs also archived backups that are more than 2 days.

    S SEQUENCE # FIRST_CHANGE # NEXT_CHANGE #.

    74 49498102 49632131 D

    I still don't understand why rman complains of the archived logs that are for an older sequence (SNA) as my last backup
    because I was assuming that the concerned newspapers archived should have already applied to these files of data, right?

    My final goal is to deliver below for the case that we have lost everything.

    Run {}
    restore the database;
    recover the database;
    }

    Thanks in advance,
    Halit

    Hello;

    In theory, it should work.

    "DUPLICATE recovers by default until the last archived redo log generated at the time the command was executed, or until one hour set with a SET clause up to THAT."

    Source - database backup and recovery reference 10g Release 2 (10.2) part number B14194-03

    Example of doc

    DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE TO newdb
        DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT=('/h1/oracle/dbs/trgt/','/h2/oracle/oradata/newdb/')
        UNTIL TIME 'SYSDATE-1' # specifies incomplete recovery
    ...
