  Dv4-1100ea in November bought 2008.I had no problem with this system, but I was faced with a very strange problem since the last 3 months.

  PROBLEM IS...

  When I watch a movie online, 45 or 60 minutes, screen goes blank (black) that I get no sound, volume and wifi power button red become as system will close. But the system does not stop, hard disk becomes very hot and fan runs at high speed. I have to shut down the system by pressing the power button. This happens only when I watch a streaming video, otherwise it works fine but still cpu fan works high speed most of the time.

  Sounds as if it detects overheating, not uncommon, when running intensive applications such as watching videos. Take a can of compressed air and blow out all external openings, including in particular the provision of ventilation on background. I also use a notebook cooling pad with fans.

• HP Pavilion dv4-1100ea display problem

  Hello, I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1100ea which has display problems.  The LCD screen is blank. When I turn on it starts the fine on an external monitor.

  If I shine a strong light on laptops LCD screen I can see the login screen and I was able to open a session.

  Is it possible to tell what happened to be defective? Does the backlight, Inverter or LCD?

  You were spot on. It turned out that the inverter was not defective it was all down to the cable not properly connected screen.

  I couldn't see the display cable connector when I replaced the inverter because it covered the keypad cover.

  I have the UPS old back in, cable connected correctly display and rear display. Thanks for the help

  I have a laptop model HP DV4 - 1100ea UK and split some orange on the keyboard, I had to replace the keyboard and the laptop turns on fine and works fine except the power of the touch button section.

  It lights up but the buttons do nothing, I replaced the entire Board and reinstalled the drivers for the quick touch hardware. I lost it now, what can you suggest?

  Sorted now, I did this:

  Do a hard reset:

  • Disconnect all devices and remove all USB devices and multimedia cards.
  • Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery and then press on and press and hold power for at least 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power adapter (do not connect the battery), press the power button.

  I am trying to install Windows XP 32-bit on dv4-1117nr, who initially installed Windows Vista 64-bit.

  The video is in Italian, but just pay attention to the screen, I was able to follow the instructions and make it work.

  Like the previous user said, you will need to format your hard drive, all first as well.

  first of all, you must have a regular o XP Professional licence. Vista Home is not inlcude the right to downgrade to XP.

  When you have your XP CD, if you try to install youi will have a screen of wheat with the code error: ERROR STOP 0xX0000007B. This because the Microsoft XP CD is missing from the AHCI driver for the SATA drive controller.

  You must add the AHCI driver on the XP cd using nlite software.

  the steps you need to do are:

  (1) download and install Nlite from site nliteos.com web

  (2) downlaod driver AHCI from HP ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp39501-40000/sp39786.exe

  (3) If you don't know how to use nlite, just look at the little clip that you can find here http://www.filecloud.com/files/category.php?user_category_id=283210

  You can see 2 clips:

  (1) add SATA driver by controller ICH9 (intel Montevina) .avi-> This shows how to add only the driver AHCI (a few words in Italian)

  2) integrareSP3_e_SATA_AHCI_finale_con_audio_e_logo2.avi--> This shows how to add the SP3 and the driver AHCI (audio in Italian, but you can understand it enough to see the video)

  When you have your new CD with SATA/AHCI driver, you will be able to install XP on your laptop

  Your second proposal is correct - as the updates to the BIOS on the HP site are specific to the OS version and if you try to run one for Win7 in Win10, it will refuse to run.

  You may need to use the Fn + the print screen key if it is combined with another article on the same key.

  My number 1 problem is that my wifi connects to my modem, however it is unbearably slow to the point where it does not load even of any url.

  I'll start with my chipset driver problem

  I installed all the drivers for chipset, besides for INTEL MANAGEMENT ENGINE INTERFACE 6.0.0.EXC because I installed version 7.0 and the installation of driver chipset INTEL TURBO BOOST TECHNOLOGY DRIVER I get the error:

  The second problem im seen that may be linked to this chipset do not install it, I have no idea.

  When you install the Realtek LAN (LAN) driver, I get FINDFILE failed error.

  Not sure if it's relevant, but I'll throw a few other information out there. In the device under the OTHER DEVICES tab Manager he listed: "Ethernet controller", "PCI Device" and "unknown device".

  And Yes... If the chipset driver is not installed, which could affect the ethernet driver to not proceed with the installation.

  I received my new desire 4 DV4 5300 with windows 8. I decided to install Windows 7. Everything was installed successufully, but USB 3.0 controller (USB 3.0 ports on the left do not work).  I forgot to write down of the maid, the USB 3.0 controller model before I deleted Windows 8.

  There is another model that has drivers Win7 and Win8 posted. You need no driver usb 3.0 for Windows 8 as he took her "native" usb 3.0 support. Windows 7 not so... needs driver.
