ENVY dv4: REFRESH/RECYCLING

I have tried my laptop (dv4 ENVY) to 120 Hz and were unsuccessful. He repeats to me COULD NOT FIND the ENVIRONMENT of RECOVERY. INSERT YOUR WINDOWS INSTALLATION OR RECOVERY MEDIA, THEN REBOOT YOUR PC WITH THE MEDIA. I don't understand what that means. Can anyone help please?

Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome aboard!

-If your computer came with Windows preinstalled by HP (aka OEM Windows)

-If you want to recover your computer to the default factory condition

-If you have used the F11 option or started from inside Windows

and you have received this message, perhaps the recovery partitions are broken/not intact or absent.

You will need to purchase and use HP recovery media to restore the default settings.

Option 1) you can contact HP support to see if they can offer you original recovery media for this computer (aka recovery DVD or USB). Info > > http://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/bph07143

Here's how you can contact them:

> > http://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

> > http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

Option 2) if there is no recovery to HP support, you can try to contact

http://www.best2serve.com/page/rcd_landing   OR http://www.computersurgeons.com/

Once you get the recovery media, here are instructions how to recover:

Please, let me know if it works.

  • SSD for HP Envy dv4 5312tx

    Hello

can I add an SSD for my hp dv4 5312tx envy?

that one is recommended? and how do I restore my 8.1 existing windows to new SSD?

    Kind regards

    Andy

Yes you can. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 38. The best SSD buy is a Samsung 840 Evo like this:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=9SIA29P1EC5222&cm_re=samsung_840_evo_ssd-_-20-147-248-_-product

I'm having a hard time finding information about the model you posted. Are you sure you typed it correctly? If you had Windows 8 initially I can link you to an OEM restore disk image. You can also clone the existing overhead for the SSD drive, but you should get a pretty good SSD size to make. You can also use the HP revovery DVD made from the HP Recovery Manager or you can rstore from a backup of Windows System.

  • HP Envy 5640: Ink recycling envelopes - wrong country snapshot

I have just signed up to instant ink and my pack of welcome arived today - thank you!

The only problem is that the pre-paid envelope of recycling is to an address in France while I live in the United Kingdom. Like driving in France and return to post expired cartridges will defeat a bit the subject of recycling, is possible to change this? I checked my account information and it clearly shows which countries where I live.

    Hi Adrian774,

I hope that there is a center of recycling in the United Kingdom - but I am not knowledgeable on all recycling sites.

I would recommend contacting instant ink to confirm the correct recycling for your location Center.

Go to the instant ink website: https://support.hp.com/my-en/contact-hp/product/HP-Instant-Ink-series/5264756/model/5401249?openCLC=true

    Select your region:

    1. On the HP - Contact customer support page, scroll to the bottom and then fill in the contact form.
  • Button refresh/recycling - work around him with presentations of form

I have a form that sends to the result page

    On the result page...

< cfif structKeyExists (form, 'submit' >)

    Total = total + 1

    < / cfif >

I noticed that if I press the button "Refresh" on any browser, the total increases, that I don't want.

So I thought that I could work around it by using structDelete (Form, "submit"), but it made no difference. Look further into it, when I poured the contents of the form at the beginning of the results page, it seems that the button refresh hang 'undeletes' to 'submit' form, that's why my total increases.

Any advice on a way around this?

It is possible, that we have done something like this on our system as a double safety mech, but he was coding people hit submit twice quickly F5 questions.

At the * very * top of page treatment, do something like and then false at the end of the page.

Then, wrap the code of the page in a or similar. But the code must be at the top of the page to make sure it works as soon as someone clicks.

Just think about it logically, there is just nothing complicated about this topic once you know exactly what you want to achieve.

  • HP Envy DV4-5260 for laptop / PC: Win 8.1 fonts changed in my outlook program and I can't fix

The police in my e-mail program is set to 12, but when I reply to a message, the text becomes so diminished and I can not answer, or if I can fix the problem.

This happened the summer 2014 and it's driving me crazy.  I know it's a problem of victory 8.1.  However, currently, the "size of teeny weeny fonts" is only going on inside my outlook e-mail where I have my AOL email set up as "pop mail".

It happened when I accidentally something on the carpet of mouse keyboard, crept through the screen.  The text size has decreased and I tried to fix this but can't.  I can't even reproduce the problem.  I am very angry that HP was "out d├⌐jeuner"with any medium because I bought this operating system. Hi Mary,

This seems to be a problem with the configuration of Outlook 2007 that has been around for many years.  It is not related to the brand of computer you are using.

The following may help you to:

  • HP Envy dv4 Notebook PC Touchpad not responding

    Hello

All of a sudden I lost my touchpad. It is no longer allows her to follow my mouse movements. The power toggle button touchpad seems not too much work. I can't turn or no more. I rebooted my system a couple of times with no result. Also tried to uninstall Synaptics Pointing Device Driver and later installation of the latest version without any positive impact. Will be great if you happen to have any suggestions.

    Hello

It is always interesting to try the following.

Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

    Kind regards

  • HP Envy DV4 - impossible to activate Windows

I have already contacted HP Invent that loop me with some other helpdesk that I loop back to invent which looped towards some other helpdesk who tried of me loop back to inventing.

Anyway, the last time around the support guy (he says that his name is Steve) was very condescending and not offered any help and says it is for members only and was told that I don't have the know-how to reinstall an operating system.  Then, he began to hit the hold button, sent me to invent.

Basically, a friend bought a laptop and got virus on it.  I went and reformat the hard drive and installed Windows 8.1 and have no way to activate it now, as there is no license key sticker anywhere to find.

Now, I see that you are supposed to use the recovery option in Windows and invent and this other premium helpdesk can apparently do anything at this point.

Is it possible to activate the point of Windows without having to buy another copy of Windows 8 retail?  Seems ridiculous that they would switch to this method to have a BIOS SLIC with an inserted key that you can not activate out of.

    Hello:

I have an idea and see if it works...

Download the drivers from this link below (first listed file - 64-bit).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y & ProdId = 2101 & DwnldID = 23060 & Keyword = Intel + rapi...

Extract the files on a usb flash drive.

With the flash drive and the installation of W8 media plugged into the machine, boot from the installation of W8 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and hopefully, W8 should install.

  • ENVY DV4 Internet troubles

I got this computer since Christmas and since it is nothing but trouble, especially with the Internet. All started saying I was connected when I wasn't really. Then it would just connect. These two questions were annoying, but temporary. They may last from a few minutes to a week before they stopped, only to start again shortly after. Now, it's worse. I can't connect to the internet either. I go to networks and it says that it detects all networks nearby, even if I know that our works (we have several other devices to this topic, including iPad) and there are at least 10 other nearby. I'm done with this issue, and the telephone line from HP tech support has been no help. Any ideas?

    Hello Cigmtt,

Thanks for the reply!  Take a look at this documentand go through the troubleshooting steps and let me know if it helps you to connect.

    Thank you!

  • BIOS update laptop dv4 envy

HP Envy dv4 Notebook PC windows 8 IE10.

About 8 or 9 months ago there was a BIOS update. It has been downloaded, but you have not installed (installation failed). a few days ago there is another update for the Bios, but since my first update was unsuccessful I should try again or let alone since every thing works fine other wise.

Do not use the laptop (W8) a lot because I prefer my PC W7.

    Thank you

    WAY

    Hello

Unless the bios update fixes a problem you're having with Notepad or offer additional functions, you need, my personal opinion would be not not to date.

If everything works Ok, I'd recommend just leave as is.

  • Hardware overheating

I have a HP ENVY dv4-5260nr and it still overheats. Idle temperature is around 60 ° C, and when I use it for games (even the small games like PvZ etc..) It will increase up to 80 ° C I tried to clean the air vent and fan but makes no difference. I also use the cooling pad. What should I do?

    Hello RAT519,

I understand that your laptop meets an overheating problem, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

Since you have already cleaned the vests on your computer, I recommend that you follow this document to reduce the heat inside the PC to prevent overheating. This should help reduce the heat generated by your laptop and should help provide additional steps beyond to clean dust.

If the problem persists, please call our technical support at the 1-800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region please click the link below to get help from your region number.

  • Not more of her?

    Hello!

I use my laptop almost every day, and it has been fine until today. I have a HP Envy dv4. I rarely stopped - I usually just close the lid and leave it like that until I'm ready to use it again. Today, when I opened and connected, I went on Youtube. However, no sound will play. I don't have this problem the last time I used the PC and may not know what the problem is. I have no sound with headset plugged in, and I have no sound when I try to use only the PC speakers.

I already made sure the noise is certainly-I cut it and dumb it several times, raises and lowers the volume using the keys f9, f10, and nothing happens. I tried to play media stored on my PC and there is no sound. I also tried to use Rosetta Stone, and it does not open because it says that it can't find no audio output.

I rebooted the computer several times, search for virus and scanned for updates. Nothing did.
