  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv4-1430us Notebook and stuck volume knob and does not properly. Here is a link to the HP Quick Launch Buttons that might help.

  After running the update make sure you restart your laptop. Here is a documentto troubleshoot the sound if necessary.

  As far as I know the BIOS 1.6 a and 1.60 it s the same version.
  But on the Toshiba site, you will find two options:
  BIOS for units with BIOS and graphics card Intel (v. 1.8) for units with ATI (version 1.6) graphics card.

  First of all, you can do that because the European driver Toshiba page always provides the latest version of BIOS more BIOS is windows-based and must be run from a running system. So, even if you have an older version of the BIOS, during the upgrade you would get a notification this version of BIOS newer is already installed.

  As far as I know isn t possible downgrade BIOS. You can download the new versions on the site of Toshiba but decommissioning, we must move to an authorized service provider. Technicians can downgrade the BIOS.

  Of course, you have the SATA driver installed first, if you want to install one of the Windows OS (Vista or XP)

  If you want to find out which version is installed on this laptop then access the BIOS and you will see the version number.
  You must press the F2 key immediately after the laptop has been launched to access the BIOS.

  But if you want to know what version of BIOS is available for download then check first the series Equium (label at the bottom of the unit) and then choose it in the European driver Toshiba page.
  I assume that it belongs to the series of PSAE2.
