    Thank you.

    Can you describe the sound?

Currently, there is not an available BIOS update to solve this problem. Run the HP TuneUp application now and then to see if they become available.

  • Process creates the CPU to overheat and the Fans to run like crazy:

I am ripping DVDs on different Macbook cradle fully aware that it's requiring treatment.

The 2011 with 16 GB of ram and hard disk SSD, the process runs on 330% of the processor, blasting the ability and heat

    revolves around 100 c/213 F.

Interesting enough the same process on 2 late Mo Pro 2008 with less ram do not overheat in the extraction process. The program are identical on all the Pros of 3 MB. The processes are the same, but on the old MBpros the processor load is between 130-150% up to more heating is not that great a problem.

But the MBPro of 2011 with top material tearing overheating of the processor and fans running at full speed.

I noticed that too much work with other programs or is running only a few programs at the same time seem to heat from the processor and the fans make some noise + cpu run hot with my MBpro 2011 and El Capitan.

It is possible to restrict a program that use a large part of the resources to avoid overheating?

    Other solutions?

Well a Late 2008 Macbook Pro has a intel core 2 duo, so the max he could run is 200% (2 CPUs time 100%) if the application can do enough on 2 processors in parallel.

Your 2011 Macbook Pro has very probably a 4 core CPU intel i7 with hyper-threading.  If an application can use hyper-fils, there is a potential of 800% max.  The 330% could just be that the DVD cannot keep up with the CPU, so it does not hit its maximum potential because of the famine of data.

I don't know if the speed of the DVD drive in 2008 was the same as the 2011.  If the 2011 is able to read data more quickly than the 2008, then it can provide given the CPU faster, keep the much busier CPU so it can consume more power, and more power consumption more than the heat generated.

MacBook pro 2011 ends a DVD in less time than the 2008?

Basically, you are trying to compare 'Granny Smith' vs 'Golden Delicious' apples and expects the same taste.

Regarding the other programs, put this SSD in your Macbook Pro means that any code or data that the application needs to get the disc are convinced order or magnitude faster, so that the application did not slow the CPU and keep crank, causing the CPU to keep them busy and thus attract more power, which is converted into heat causing fans to run.

It is also possible that your SSD generates more heat.  Solid State does not always mean longer running costs.  Much would depend on the brand and the model of the SSD and it is the power profile, and it draws more power for writing vs readings, and how much nature more expensive power you're done.

Information point.  I put an SSD in my 2009 27 "iMac and it works more hot because my iMac can do more in less time.  I put an SSD in my Macbook Pro 2011 and if I ask him to do a lot of work, like backups, it starts its fans, as the SSD is always quick to provide data for backup, there is no waiting for the discs, leaving the lower idle CPU.

  • Can I upgrade the CPU in my Pavillion SlimLine s5510y computer?

My computer is an Athlon II x 2 240 cpu.  What is the best processor I can improve, if possible.  The system has 3 GB of memory, with a maximum of 4.  Thank you.

    Most 95 watt TDP maximum AMD socket AM2 + / AM3 Athlon/II x 2 / x 3 / x 4 and II/Phenom x 3 / x 4 should work. HP does not provide a specific list of CPU support on this forum.

  • iMac restarts after 5 minutes of the heavy load of CPU/GPU and noisy fan

    Hello

My iMac (late 2012 if I remember) restarts when under heavy load for a while.

I work a lot with Final Cut Pro X.

Whenever I have add clips in an event, Final Cut allows you to copy and then transcode and analyze the clips, and this task's CPU/GPU intensive (Final Cut Pro X uses OpenCL, where CPU/GPU). After a few seconds, the iMac fan begins to be really strong and seems to reach its maximum speed.

Then, after a few minutes of this heavy burden, the iMac simply restarts, and the fan slows down and stop. After the reboot, everything is back to normal, with the exception of the warning illustrated by Mac OS X, who said that the closure was not planned.

I'm sure that this behavior is not normal. I don't see why a computer should reboot/crash when under heavy load.

Note: you can also, to transcode some clips or movies I used the excellent software called Handbrake, using CPU only encoder ffmpeg, and I don't remember having accidents even if the CPU has been loaded and FAN running loud too. So maybe it has something to do with GPU?

How can I understand what is happening?

    Thank you very much.

  • Satellite A300-1DB CPU Fan is boring, too strong

    Hi all

I bought a Toshiba Satellite A300-1DB today in a German (580 euros) and I really like the design of laptops and performance, but there is a big problem I can not bear more (and I used it only for 2 hours).

The CPU fan on the left side of the laptop is annoyning Yes: even if I keep the laptop idle (CPU activity is very low, just under 10% and 1 GB of ram used), the CPU fan is really really strong spinning for a minute.

After that there is silence, a great silence... for 2 minutes. And then the whole process starts over and over again. Just cold air comes out.

It's make me crazy, that the CPU in the idle mode fan is stronger than my other Satellite A210 - 106 Turion X 2-52 L with full activity of the CPU. I wish to have a CPU fan that keeps spinning in a low sound.

Do you have ideas about how to control the fan?
Otherwise I try to replace it with another laptop (I hope they allow that, unfortunately, it is not an Internet shop where you can send it back up to 14 days)

    Kind regards
    Dieter

I managed it successfully using balanced power management and using battery optimized for cooling method option. This setting you will find, under advanced power settings > Toshiba Power Saver utility.

  • Direction fan CPU HPE-400f

Hi, I have a HPE-400f desktop PC and I took out the cpu fan to clean the heatsink and the cpu fan. But when I forgot which direction blows the cpu fan when I put back it together. I think it was blowing towards the radiator, so I put it with cpu blowing towards the radiator fan. Can you please tell me if it's supposed to be blowing closer or away from the heat sink? I want to be safe, I put it in right place. Thank you

    Hello:

If the fan is mounted on the radiator, it should direct the flow of air to the radiator.

  • I can check a message that my CPU fan is not working?

A few days ago I got a message that my CPU cooling fan not working properly and I should check it out. but the next time I logged in that I have no message of second check of my first message. I can interogate my computer to check the first message and if so, how?

    Hi DavidDudley,

You may need to contact the manufacturer of the system or consult the manual supplied with the computer to test if the CPU (central processing unit) cooling fan does not work correctly or not.

  • Can CPU overheating if Portege R930 goes into sleep mode?

I have an a Portege R930. I run an application of 25-30% of the CPU for long hours. If I put the laptop in mode 'sleep', the calculation get suspended? If not, and it is still running, how the CPU is cooled when the fan is off mode 'sleep'? The CPU can overheat?

I * don't * want my program from several hours to be interrupted by a detector from overheating. If I know that the program is suspended in mode 'sleep', I fear enter "standby" mode. If this isn't the case, so I'll keep the laptop awake, and if I need to carry the laptop, I'll put it into hibernation.

The answer seems to be that the CPU cannot fire because the programs are suspended: http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Port%C3...p/689961#M4014

  • Fan of S50 - B - 15 p satellite speed

    Hello

I've had my toshiba satellite s50 - b - 15 p for about a month now. This is a great light weight machine. A problem that I have with it is that the fan is noisy incredulity. Loading Windows fan seems to run quickly and it sounds like an airplane taking off (but seriously, he is strong). Even if I open the Task Manager or a Web page such as youtube and the processor spikes a bit then the breath fan just straight up. I never heard a fan as much or higher, and I work in it. I'm not sure if that's normal with this laptop? It's an i7 5500u with SSD and 8 GB of ram, it must surely be a performance with minimal noise machine?

    Thank you
    Scott

You could start the the Task Manager and in the "Processes" tab, you will find all background applications that would appeal to the CPU.
Click the CPU column to display all the processes of loading the CPU.
Locked CPU can cause a greater fan activity.

However, you can also try to change the 'method of cooling' option that is available in the advanced power options Windows.

Go to control panel → power options.
Click here on the power plan that is currently in use.
Then click on advanced power options and access the cooling method.
Here you can change it from active to passive.

In addition, you can decrease the status of CPU max at 90-95%

Also the memory usage should be checked?
My experience web browsing on different pages, using internet explorer, chrome could affect the fan...
I read that the performance of fans could be high because of different scripts that are part of sites... for example: Facebook use different scripts and browser CPU locks.

  • Broken Fan on the heatsink for Pavilion e9110t

Editing for this heater broke causing the CPU overheating and close. The part # for the fan of 1322-006D0H2 but it seems his is no longer recognized. Someone can suggest a suitable replacement or can any fan heatsink 3inch work on this?

    Thank you

    ellander1,

HP e9110t is a CTO (configurable) system and supports different 9 Processor Intel.

Your dialogue that gives to think?  The Mount of the CPU is broken, not the fan bracket. The fan on the heatsink with 4 screws.

TheOldMan suggested, the complete kit is available.
