Thank you.

Can you describe the sound?

Currently, there is not an available BIOS update to solve this problem. Run the HP TuneUp application now and then to see if they become available.

After that Hp replaced the motherboard under the extended warranty, because one quiet old work, I now have a very high sound level because the processor cooling fan runs at high speed for most.

Talk to the HP support brought no solution, it's just frustrating. According to them there is no relationship between the change of the motherboard and the fan noise. We had the computer for two years and had no problems with that, in fact we where he is very happy that the computer was running on these levels to low noise constantly.

I was search the HP solutions provides on the middle section of solution, also without success, even after the update of BIOS, change the power settings in Windows etc... After opening the envelope, it appears, they have changed the cooling with the motherboard fan. He now has an installed Taisol fan unit, which seems to be the problem with the noise level. This instrument will create just more noise, and since I can expect not any help more HP, on it, I'm looking into replacing the unit of my self with a calm. Anyone out there with a similar problem and a solution for this?

Thanks for the thought, I managed to fix it myself. Pretty embarrassing for the workshop to repair HP actually, all I had to do was reinstall the fan on top of the processor. They need had installed it so that the fan was a little out of whack, in order to not cool properly or does not correctly recorded temperature. After the seizure of the device, to see if there is anything wrong with the base, I just applied again past the heat at the base and screw them on. I made sure that the four screws that hold in place cooling unit are linked on the cross.

Now I can run the computer at full load and almost never have the noise level that I had before.

What frustrates me is the fact, that hotline HP never even considered that there could be a problem with the installation or even assuming that there is a relationship between the replacement of the motherboard and the problem of noise that I was complaining. The people I spoke with, including the supervisor of technical support, when he is very eager to sell me a warranty plan extended, rather than listening to my problem. Well this isn't the right place to start even on this issue, but some things need to be said. Treat your customers with more respect and make sure you listen to the explanations out there, after all we all suck when it comes to computers!

  • Pavilion DV6-6C56SA free fan?

    Hey there,

I ordered a HP Pavilion DV6-6C56SA about a week ago, and since a few days, the fan has started to act up and is noisy (I did not do anything to cause this because she was flat on a desk since purchased), and I noticed after moving the lap top himself at times, the fan stops momentarily , as if it has come loose, so touching the surface of the laptop internally. I also checked my temperature levels, and they seemed pretty normal, so I come to the conclusion that the fan is not broken but loose on its axis may be.

Also, to add, my sister has exactly the same lap top (with less features) and I made a comparison, and his fan works fine, without the noise.

I also have a guarantee, I was wondering if it would be repaired/replaced under that?

    Hello

I apologize on the question with your new HP laptop.

HP warranty devices any defects with the laptop, contact your official HP Support local, let them know about the noise of the fan and also on your camparison as they should help identify them that there is a hardware fault.

  • Noisy cooling fan - Pavilion dv6

My HP Pavilion dv6 is 8 months old and had a noisy fan during most of this time. It is not quite a constant noise, more like a constant wailing. Looks like it's to accelerate towards the high/slow down to the down/speeding towards the high/slow down/etc Ideas on the problem or the solution? Thank you.

    It is an overheating problem.

1 your vents may be clogged with dust and dirt.

2 the graph or the main processor may be reheated excessively, for one reason or another.

Whatever it is, I think he's going to need disassembling to clean\repair.

Go through the Page 27, 83-87, the part number of HP for the cooling fan / heat sink (includes the thermal material replacement) is 665309-001.

There's another piece on textbooks for her number: 665354-001, but I could not confirm through research engine search or shop online.

  • Pavilion dv6 - how to clean the fan

    HP Pavilion dv6-7029wm

He did two years since I bought the laptop, and I finally realized that I have to open the computer to clean the fan properly. However, my laptop doesn't have access to the cooling fan Panel - so I tried to take it apart with the help of the manual.

However, the procedure necessary to reach the fan itself is very long and complicated, as seen here:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03582006.PDF

Is there another way easier to reach the fan? I have to go through this everytime I want to clean the fan?

Also, I am stuck at the part where the keyboard should be removed. The keyboard is supposed to be difficult to remove? Because when I try to remove it, it seems as if she can bend and break.

I wish I could post pictures...

    Hello:

I never take a laptop apart to clean the fan.

    Here's what I do...

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.

Find a thin object such as a straight pin in place through the air intake fan and make sure it happens between two of the fan blades to avoid the fan turns.

Get one of these cans of compressed air to dust and spray it in the fan intake and exhaust fan a few times, I look for dust to move on the vents.

When I see more dust blowing, I consider the work completed.

Reconnect the battery and a/c adapter.

  • Pavilion 15 p248ne: loud fan noise and vibrate

Hello, so he started to happen when I move the laptop one day (when it's on) fan me all of a sudden very hard and the laptop everything vibrated, it sounded like the fan was touch something running which makes vibration and noise, it sounds exactly like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkCLubSukzI I fixed it by restarting the laptop (sleeping too work looks like everything that makes the fan stop) but now It happens randomly, the normal fan noise has changed and there sometimes as fort again, as demonstrated in the video and then I have to restart to fix it. I tried to open up the laptop, but a few screws were too hard and stuck lol so I gave up. and I cleaned the vents of the dust.

    Hey @amro2,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

You mentioned that you hear a thud and the HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p248ne vibrates when this happens. You thought that it sounded like the fan touched something in rotation. I also watched the YouTube video that you had provided for me. This was very helpful! Thank you.

Perhaps one of the possibilities is that the fan should be cleaned.

Even if you had not indicated that you do not encounter any problems with the heat, there is a document called a Fan is Noisy and runs constantly. This document has troubleshooting steps that may help. I realize that you don't have more intermittently as you a question on a regular basis, however, the steps described in the document can lead you in the right direction for resolution.

I'll provide you with HP Pavilion 17 Notebook FHCP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide for your reference.

If none of the steps above help, and the laptop is still under warranty (please use the auditor of the guarantee if you are not sure), I wouldn't open Notepad. While opening the laptop should not void your warranty, if any damage is caused during the process without contacting HP Support then it can void your warranty. If you are still in warranty, please use the following link to create yourself a file number:

I have a HP pavilion dv6-6052ea LL050EA product number and the fan has stopped working so I need to replace it, but I'm

not sure that one to buy.

I have windows 7 64-bit with 2 GHz Intel Core i7-2630QM processor and graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6490 M (1 GB of DDR5 memory).

If I read the information about the product and he understood (as much as I can) I think that I need the fan/radiator kit which is

part number 641477-001, someone can confirm that this is the one I need and also someone could tell me if

This includes the thermal material bre what I owe this to buy separately.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Phil,

This number is for portable computers running AMD processor. You must get the so-called 641477-001.

I think you better return her you already received.

Confirm the part number with the seller and then proceed with the purchase.
