  You can also ask ASP for keyboard replacement.
  But it s a pity that your warranty is invalid. :( So you will have to pay for the replacement.

  In any case, the replacement of keyboard is not very delicate, and if you have a bit of experience then you can replace this keyboard by yourself.
  To remove the keyboard, follow these steps:

  1. turn the computer.
  2. open the screen and make it flat.
  3 insert the tip of your finger into the slot on each side and remove the door-keyboard. It is a small plastic above the F1 - F12 buttons cover.
  4. remove the 2 screws flat head, securing the keyboard.
  5. lift the upper part of the keyboard while freeing up the hook and lower the face of keyboard on the palm rest.
  6. remove a screw support plate and the keyboard.
  7 disconnect the cable from the keyboard connector on the system board and remove the keyboard.

  But note; Be always careful and don't use force to remove all the parts.

  I talked with Microsoft today and, Yes, the person who answered said that there is NO replacement for the receiver, and I have to buy a new set upwards.  After asking to speak to someone who had technical knowledge and don't get any then I asked a supervisor.  I've been waiting for several minutes, but I wasn't going to give up.  Finally, an answered and after a supervisor explained that I knew something to computing, he offered to send me a brand new unit, for free.  And upward that broad, he said he could only make the order and it would ship me in 1-3 days.

  The number I called is 800-360-7561, option 2.  Make sure you ask to speak to a supervisor, as people who respond do not have any idea.  They read just out of a script.  I hope this helps someone out there.  Microsoft wants to keep their ccustomers elements and will do what it takes to keep them.

  Since I use it so often, it would be good that it could be one of the 'F' keys: F1, F2 or something else.

  I looked in 'Edit-> keyboard shortcuts'... but I couldn't find the option replace/find here.  Have I missed?

  It's here: System, section keyboard preferences. Check the box to enable access direct function key, or uncheck it and hold down the "Fn" key then press F4.

  Your problem is how to connect or disconnect the cable from the keyboard only?

  I mean that it is so simply. On the connector itself, you can see two brackets plastic on the left and the side rght. You must move it to the top and the keyboard cable cut.

  Have a 4540 s HP from my neighbor who dumped some broth on the keyboard.  The P and O do not work, the K - L -:- and space sometimes work, are sometimes stuck in down position.  At this stage, it is virtually unusable.

  So, I see videos here describing how to remove and replace the keyboard.  It does not seem too complicated for me - I'm ready to take the plunge.  If someone has done this before, you have some tips on where are the land mines?  Or is it pretty much direct?

  I really don't think you can buy replacement keys. I found very interesting comment to this in another forum:
