DV7 - 4177ca does not time

Hi all,

have a laptop dv7 - 4177ca that does not have time? have to synchronize the time and date that each computer laptop time begins or exit the mode "Eve"!

Thank you

Hello

Try the following.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Select the option in the Bios ( f10 ).

You should see that the first field highlighted is the time value - set this to the correct time by using f5 and f6 (f5 will reduce the number & f6 it will increase).  When it is correct, press ENTER to highlight the Minute field and again, use f5 & f6 to set the correct minutes.

When finished, press the arrow down to select the first Date field.  This should be for the month, so using f5 & f6 to enter the correct value.

Press Enter to highlight the field day and this, and then press ENTER to highlight the year field and then set this.

If you are happy with the settings of Date and time, press f10 and press ENTER to save the settings and exit the bios.

Let windows load completely.  If the Date and time correct does not appear, go to the control panel and set the Date and time correct here.

Restart computer and check if this has fixed the problem.

Kind regards

    Hello

As you have no doubt already concluded, it would look like a significant failure of hardware, in particular given the fact that there was no change when the memory has been removed completely.  Unfortunately, the most likely component is the video chip which really means a new motherboard.

The only other possibility might be interesting to try is to remove the module WLAN (Page 51), leave the battery and try to start Notepad on the entire sector.

  • Pavilion DV7-3162nr: HP Pavilion DV7-3162nr does not turn on and the battery light flashes during charging

I was upgrading my HP DV7-3162nr for windows 10 when all of a sudden the laptop stopped working and would not turn.

The power adapter is plugged in and battery led was flashing. Now battery led does not at all depend on. When I press the Start button the laptop would try to start then turn off after about one second. However most of the time when when I press the button nothing happens.

I took out the battery and tried to immediately start the alternating current, but the laptop is like there is no power. The led near the power connector is on the AC adapter is plugged in. I checked the tension between the adapter and it is correct to about 19 volts, I even loaded to 1.5 Amps and voltage remained close to 19 volts. I tried now on the button for more than one minute with applied power (no battery or AC) and no change when I tried to start with just AC.  The battery is old, but shouldn't the laptop run on just the AC adapter with the battery installed? I do not think that windows 10 has done this, but it's a weird coincidense that he died during the upgrade.

I read about simular problems with flags of HP but nothing exactly like it.  The fact that I can not turn on the laptop with just the adapter seems to be a problem really bad.

Anyone has any ideas I can try to let me know

I was able to fix my laptop.

I thought that it must be a hardware problem, because the laptop would not run just the adapter. And the adapter was good, as I said, he had the right voltage and can support the load.  So after looking at a lot of U tube videos on how to disassemble laptops and looking for schematics on the laptop which I couldn't find. I disassembled the laptop and a beep on the load circuit and it showing. What I found, it was a bad MosFet at the beginning of the charging circuit. The MosFet P/N P0603BDG has shorted door to the Source.  I was able to get the part of China via Ebay for less than $5.00 total and it took a week to arrive.

Now, the laptop charging the new battery and works very well. I could have found the bad MosFet faster if I had diagrams. Does anyone know if it is possible to get the schematics for this HP laptop? I found a manual and it helped a bit to disassemble the laptop, but he had nothing on the main map.

This problem is now solved hope it helps someone out there.

If you install the electro mechanical original hard drive in it starts?

If it has been delivered with a SSD?

The specifications indicate that an electromechanical drive was part of the specification.

This is where lies the UEFI environment. It is actually on the hard drive.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 keys does not work

Since I've upgraded to Windows 7 Pro on my HP Pavilion (dv7 - 1223ca), several keys on my keyboard have not been working properly. I've upgraded and downgraded my computer several times, and this has not happened before. When I press the G, H, BACKSPACE or the apostrophe key, they will not work unless I press one of them around thirty or forty times. As soon as I get one of them working, they begin to work properly for about five minutes, and then it goes back to the break.

It is a major problem that I use my laptop for work. I tried to reinstall the drivers for the keyboard, but this did not help. Someone at - it ideas?

Also, two of the keys on my keyboard (alt and del) went out completely and don't come back. Is there a chance HP would be able to replace these?

On the key that came to the wide, you will need to replace the entire keyboard, i.e. If you are unable to insert this back...

Keys does not, this looks like a keyboard problem, but we can check in the BIOS as well. In the BIOS, go to security, select Admin password and press on enter, now try and test the keys here, if it doesn't there as we have confirmed the problem keyboard...

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-4065dx laptop with Windows 7 64 bit that won't start or go to the Bios screen.  When the laptop is turned on, you hear the fan from the system start, start button / stop brighter lights and the caps lock button starts to Flash continuously once every three to four seconds.  The activity of the disc is also light on but with no flashing red.  No changes have been made to the laptop and it worked perfectly well a few hours earlier.  I tried the hard reset of the computer and the reinstallation of the memory cards, but the laptop would be still not start.  Any help to determine what the problem is with the computer would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

It does not appear that a hardware problem has occurred.

After reviewing the document for the blink code, it seems that the processor does not have.

A defective processor can be repaired by a local PC store, but I highly recommend you contact the HP support by phone to see what options are available. HP repair center would be able to identify the appropriate components that will need to be replaced in the rare case that the test gave flashing evil code.

  • HP dv7 4050ed does not load BIOS

    Hey,.

I have a dv7 4050ed as described in the title.

Yesterday, I tried to update my BIOS to F.29 with sp55299.exe provided by the HP Web site. I did it during the execution of Windows 8 (think that's what has caused this) asuming it would be nice if it wasn't.

Installer flashed the BIOS and reset. during the restart, the screen didn't come but I could here the Windows startup sound. I gave it a minute but nothing happened so I used the powerbutton to turn the LAPTOP still works, but cela it wont even load the BIOS.

And that is where I am now: if I press the power button / fans turn and the WiFi and its LED glow orange. He did this for about 2-3 seconds, but then it turns itself off and repeat this procces until I pressed the power button or turn the power off.

There is no error message (no beeps and no flashing LED) except when I remove both modules of memory RAM of course the error message.

    I tried the things:

-In the course of running on the only AC adapter

    -Remove the CMOS battery

-Withdrawal of the RAM modules or placing them in a different bank

-Windows key + holding B before plugging in the power adapter, and then pressing the powerbutton-> nothing happens

-Disassemble the laptop everything, but everything went well.

My guess is that the BIOS chip is damaged, or the motherboard is dead.

Does anyone know a fix for this? (I tried searching the Internet but the only thing I could find was the Windows key + B method)

Hello Raven283.  I understand that after trying to Flash your BIOS from Windows 8 you are more able to boot the laptop.  Is this correct?

Here more information on HP and the upgrade to Windows 8.

Looks like your thinking is correct.  It seems that the installation/flashing program has not properly run in Windows 8.   Now that flash has no BIOS does not appear to load correctly.  Laptops HP Flash the BIOS via a Windows executable file and do not support flashing via USB key.  So, you will need to contact HP Technical Support to get the book back to operational status.

You can check the status of your warranty by going here.  Contact HP at 1-800-474-6836 if you are in the USA / Canada.  If you're in another area, you will need go to the Site of Support of HP to get contact information for your region.

  • Pavilion dv7 - 1023cl does not connect to 1 Gbps but other devices will be

According to the specifications of my laptop Pavilion dv7 - 1023 cl, it has a gigabit ethernet port, but no matter how hard I try, I can't get it to connect to my network at that speed.  Instead, it connects to 100 Mbps / other laptops, including a model dv7 later have no problems connecting to 1 Gbps.

I took it completely and then reinstalled the ethernet driver realtek from the hp support web site, but it still connects only to 100 Mbps.

Anyone has an idea why this does not work and what I can do about it?

    Thank you.

According to the specifications for the DV7 - 1023 cl, page the ehternet port only supports 10 / 100 Mbit/s and this would explain why the 1 Gbps is not negotiated.

Where did you see that it supports 10/100/1000?

    Hello

"Blink" code you mention would indicate that the graphics controller is not working.  Is your laptop still under warranty?  If this is the case, you will need to contact HP and arrange for the laptop repaired under warranty.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.
