DVD backup and/or formatting makes player to get into a loop. Must manually eject to stop it.

Backup of end of month began as planned; He asked "label and install the new drive" - that - it says "formatting" etc then went into a loop.  Now, it won't format any DVD or accept any of my previous backup disks without going into a loop. Need to manually eject the disc to stop it.  It will read previously recorded DVD pictures ok. I'm puzzled.

Hello

It seems that if the problem is with the internal CD drive failure.
If the drive went wrong, the previous backup data could be corrupted. Insert an old backup disk, if you have one to see if it can be read.

I also sugggest you look the suggestion by Diana D to run the System File Checker to see if files that are responsible for the backup is corrupt or missing. See this link:

WARNING CHKDSK:

Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

I hope this helps!

  • Unable to play old songs or backup and restore in Media Player

    original title: license problem

I could listen to my music with WMP 10 very well until I did the updates of windows last week. Now, any file over two years will not play. When I try to play a song it turns orange information. When I click with the right button on the song and choose "details of the error...". "says:

Windows Media Player cannot create the playlist, because the name already exists. Type a different playlist name.

When I try to back up or restore the license, I get the following error:

    Hello

-Have you tried to run the system restore?

Try to run the Media center hotfix and check. That could help a few times that there are many common points on the different versions of windows xp.

I suggest you first try the below tool of diagnosis before going to the procedure below.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic/

Method 1: since this device was working fine before, I recommend you try doing a system restore on the computer at one time given when the update was not installed and check if that helps.

How to restore Windows XP to a previous state
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/306084

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed. System Restore helps you restore system files from your computer to an earlier point in time.

Also, please follow the instructions below the article.

  • Need to update to the DVD store and want to make it region free

    Hello world

It could be a matter of 'stupid' for advanced users... I'm actually looking for updates. It seems that I need to know the name of my dvd storage. Can someone please tell me how, I will this knowledge?

I of course found a name (storage, disk management), but it's a very long and nothing appears on this name, it seems to be the only evil I found...

Second question: I bought my laptop in Switzerland, but living in Uruguay. So we often expect dvd of the two lands, Spanis, English and German, and there are also codes of the different regions. Now, I used all my code changes. What can I do? Can I buy a second storage disk (sorry, not sure about the name...), an external and watch movies with code 4 in this one, movies with 1 in the internal code? It is quiet sad to be forced to watch just a certain region code movies...

I'd be happy to help. A large Sun * thank you * to the beach of the Uruguay :-)

I don't know if you know but all readers of DVD from different manufacturers support this latch area of the DVD.
This option appears not only on Toshiba laptops, but on all computers with DVD players.
The fact is that it is not possible to remove this lock of DVD region one road legal. You can change 5 times only, but then the dvd player should be locked.

Of course, I found these programs that could remove it but I've never tested.
In my opinion these cracks don't work and it s really risky to do that because you may damage the firmware of CD/DVD players.

I don't know exactly why develop manufacturers of discs discs with this feature, but the fact is that there are on the disc and you cannot remove it.

By the way; I found this useful discussion:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=109578𚰊

There is an explanation why you can't remove DVD region release:

+ The commercial DVD player specification requires that a player to be sold in a given location should not play discs encoded for a different region (region 0 discs are not restricted). The purpose of this system is to allow motion picture studios to control the various aspects of a release (including content, date and in particular, price) depending on the region. In the practice of many DVD players are or can be changed to be multi-region, allowing playback of all discs. Entirely independent of encryption Content Scramble System (CSS), region coding pertains to regional lockout, which originated in the video game industry. +

  • Veeam Backup and the Mode of free features

    People,

I started a support with Veeam call after the installation of their new backup and replication 4.1.1 after getting an error "free ESXi is not supported" after some troubleshooting tech me determine what level of license Info Service is listed, ESXFull, or ESXBasic. After determining that it is ESBasic they advise that we are 'free' feature mode and call the VMWare licenses.

I'm missing somethgin here, I thougth all ESXi were free, a matter that deals with this and how do I get this to ESXFull?

    Thank you

Free ESXi is free. It can be licensed for use with the rest of the vSphere product suite. In free mode, there are several things that are not available, including the storage API. Veeam backup uses the storage API, which means that you must have a licensed version of ESXi. The simplest version of a bundle under license is http://www.vmware.com/vmwarestore/buyvsphere-small-business.html

  • HP Pavilion HPE Series - Windows 7 - backup files on DVD-R and DVD + R DL.

    Nice day

I have a question about backing up my files using dvd - r - dvd + r dl - I used to be able to back up my files once you write information about the disk backup, which includes the number of drive - computer name - date - time-. After completing most of the time to backup their still room left on the disk to add the backup files.

So every time I have to perform a regular new save new files to the computer would ask the previous disc and then add the new files if had left them enough space on this disk. Until recently, when I backup my files at the application-it request the previous disc, which still has plenty of room to add new files - I insert the previous disc, but it will not add new files, a messaged pop keeps saying insert the previous disc it will not new files backup.

I have to click on the use of a new media and formatting option and save the new files a new dvd - r or a dvd + r dl etc. Can anyone suggest what may be the problem and if the DVD + R DL that holds up to 8 GB are even appropriate for the backup files.

    Thank you.

    Joe, welcome to the forum.

I suggest looking for a driver or Firmware Update for the drive.  Sometimes the glitches may occur which will cause the type of problem that you are experiencing.  You may have to completely reinstall the training software and driver.  In addition, it seems that the DVD may close at the end of each burn.  This would make the DVD so it will not allow adding more data.

Here's a guide to the types of CD/DVD that you can use for backups and other uses.  Personally, I've always had the best luck using (+ r) discs.  They seem to be compatible with many brands of discs.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.
