DVD burner drive ignores the media inserted to Backing Up disc

I installed the Win7 Home Premium (32 bit) operating system on an HP Desktop running 4 GB of ram. I can't create a system or system repair disc image because the DVD writer (HP 740 b) does not recognize the media disc, I insert the burner when you are prompted.  I insert a blank disc DVD - R new Sony, not formatted on most of the rehearsals, but spent the last three times on a DVD + R Verbatim disk with EXACTLY the same result.  THE NE WILL NOT PREPARE THE DISK, IE DISC FORMATER. WHY?  I welcome your thoughts and suggestions, but request that you read my question before I answer that I have several times and carefully followed the advice of Jack in charge of microsoft.  Thank you. • Can I replace my DVD burner drive for the drive on Aspire E5 - 551 G-T018?

    Hello

Recently I opened my Matthew acer aspire E5 - 551 G-T018 to replace my 1 TB to 240 GB SSD HARD drive.

And now I recently saw on a website that there are these caddy that can be used to replace the DVD rom for extra HDD or SSD.

My laptop has a DVD. It is held by a screw in the back. DVD rom doesn't have a SATA connector, but some small connector and SATA, I don't know his name.

What I was wondering is would it be possible to replace the DVD rom on this model for a caddy with my old HDD in there?

And if it's possible. Thickness of which would I need for my future caddy?

  • Satellite 5200 801: how to replace DVD burning drive?

    Hello
A few days ago, I decided to replace my CD/DVD burning drive (burn DVD at 1 x) with a more faster and more modern.
The problem is that, while turning on my laptop, it stops without any error message, as if she could not recognize the hard drive, so there is no professional Windows startup (problem of configuration master / slave?).
I tried with two different burning drives and I also upgraded the BIOS of the laptop to version 1.40 (date 17/04/2003), but there was no result.
    Help me thanks
Riccardo - Lecce - ITALY (South)

    You guessed it right,

    It's a question of master/slave/CS.
Find out your old drive (firmware DI has something like 170) and try to locate the sense of them (current setting of M/S/CS) of it through the Internet on specific DVD player forums.

Then determine WHAT type of disc, you will need to buy to make it work on your computer (or find the firmware suitable for do this... you'll need a different laptop that DOESN'T RECOGNIZE the DVD drive in the State, it is now).

DVD Slimline portable computer readers usually do not come with a rider to make this adjustment (M/S/CS) on your own but are set with the internal firmware for this. There are other ways on how to get it to work (to force a shortcut on the back of the card), but I would not go for it if I were you.

  • Laptop HP G60t-500 - cannot find the DVD burner driver

    Hello

I upgraded my laptop G60t-500 for Windows 8.  I had to reinstall some of the drivers in compatibility mode and overall, it works ok (thumping audio does not work, but I get audio with USB speakers) However, I just noticed that the DVD RW drive does not.  In Device Manager, the hp DVDRAM GT20L reports the following error message:

Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    {Unable to load device driver}
HS device driver could not be loaded.
    Error status is 0 x %x

I was looking on the site of HP support pilot for the original drivers for the DVD RW drive but can't seem to find them.  I found the HP DVD Play software and I was wondering if it needs to be reinstalled.  Or I have to look elsewhere for the device driver?  Or should I uninstall and leave the machine to find the driver.

As a record, when I right click on the device in Device Manager and select "Update driver software", select the option to let the computer find the right driver, he again reports the correct driver is installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Carol

Thank you, Vidya.  I had to reboot and now my machine 'sees' the DVD player and it's working (I tested it using a DVD for playback and serious files).

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

  • CD/DVD Rom drive reads the DVD as blank disc?

Looked for information on the subject the whole place and it feels like I'm the only one who has this problem.

The CD/DVD-Rom drive in my HP laptop is not reading the data on my DVD or CD I DVD that have been burned on a computer and some other that I burned on this drive. Data on them that I've used them in the past and without any problem. I changed nothing on my computer since the last time I used them I can think of and I have all the latest software updates for Vista and HP.

Now when I put in drive it takes about a minute and then gets up and tells me that the disc is empty, but I know it's NOT like I've used it before and I see on the underside of the drive it was burned.

Is this a problem of software or a hardware problem or disk I have not tried a lot of things that just the standard checks to try to get the drive to run but without success. For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Phil.

    Hello PhilStokes,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

Sorry, you have a problem with this issue.  I would first go to Device Manager to verify that all drivers are up-to-date.

Go to start-> Type ' Device Manager "" in the search field-> select Device Manager '->, select here (+) for the CD/DVD - rom-> This will fall to the bottom of your device-> next right-click on the device and select update. "

If not chance or driver is already updated, return to Device Manager and right click on your device and select uninstall.  You may be prompted to restart, anyway go back to Device Manager and right click again and select install or update.

Thanks a lot, well being, peace.                       DP

    Hello

You may need to format the new HARD drive - try the following.

If you are running Windows XP, see the guide on the following link.

    http://www.simplyguides.NET/guides/prepare_second_hdd/prepare_second_hdd1.shtml

For Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8, follow these steps.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run box, type compmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.  Click disk management in the left pane and let readers load upward.  Right-click on your new HARD drive and select Format to start the wizard.  Windows assigns a Volume Label, so if you're happy with it, just leave the default.  File system is NTFS.  Allocation unit size must be left by default.  Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done.  Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.

Once this done, your new HARD disk should now appear when you look under the computer.

    Kind regards

You can do a repair disk or an image of the system - the two are below.

    Create the system repair disc

    1. Open backup and restore by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking the backup and restore.
    2. In the left pane, click on create a system repair disc and follow the steps. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

This will restore your computer to its exact state when the image has been made - which will save you the trouble of having to reinstall Windows 7 and installed everything currently again, and it takes much less time to do.

    1. click on the Start Menu and type "Save", and then click Backup of your files.

    2. in the Control Panel window that appears, click the blue link to the image.
