DVD/CD burner burn only CD

I have a CD/DVD/writer [Acer Slimtype DS8A5SH ATA] drive that will read DVDs and CDs.  It will also burn CD but NOT DVD.  I uninstalled the driver and not restarted - no change.  This has just occurred, why?  This parameter has been scrogged?  According to the website of the unit, I installed the most recent driver.  I want to solve it without resorting to the restoration of the system or similar that I know how to solve the problem even if it happens again.  Thank you!.

Thanks for the response & helpful suggestions: I was working on the problem yesterday and determined that I could burn CDs and DVDs, BUT not by the program I was using.  A burn of a sample DVD Nero software has eliminated the question of whether the pilot or the CD/DVD drive is faulty.  I now work with a person of software support from the other program that I had trouble with to resolve the issue - either a matter of adjustment or a defective or damaged program download is my guess at this point.   Thank you for your thoughtful and helpful answer!  I appreciate it!

  • DVD Maker burn only video widescreen 4:3, regardless of the report parameter l / h

I use DVD Maker and you have imported a widescreen in avi format video.  No matter if I put the image 4:3 or 16:9 format DVD, it burns video part 4:3 anyway. The menu displays in 16:9, the preview plays in a 16:9 frame, menu burn in 16:9, but the video is burned in an image full screen complete with very large and skinny people!
The other parameters are NTSC and start in the menu.
What happened with a newer version of the beta version of Windows7 and now between professional.

Windows DVD Maker has a design aspect ration fault.

I created a DVD using opinion with 16 x 9 aspect ratio. When played on a DVD player connected to a 16 x 9 TV, it looks fine, but when played on a 4 x 3 TV, the video is wrinkled rather than Letterbox or cropped. Surprisingly, the DVD seems to substitute for TV or DVD settings. I created several DVDs more with different parameters and the results are always the same - test on 4 DVD players and two televisions. Then, I created a DVD with 16 x 9 and 4 x 3 content content. Not only were the 16 x 9 crushed on the set of 4 x 3, but video 4 x 3 has been extended across the 16 x 9! Yet once, either the TVs juggle parameters during the process of creating or viewing options or four DVD players has changed the results. In all cases content was stretched or crushed to fill the screen. The DVD created using Roxio Creator 9 (or similar software) with identical clips do NOT have this problem. The DVD resulting does NOT substitute devices that they are played on. I do not think that any new software should be less functional that many softwares for years, do you think?

Calogero suggestion that 'when deciding what image format to choose, consider the aspect ratio for the monitor or TV on which your slide show will be ironed' is absurd. Firstly, we are not talking slideshow - we could care less if the slides in the menu are the correct proportions - we don't talk video. Then, suppose you want to create a DVD to give to dozens or hundreds of friends and family for the holidays. You're supposed to find the type of TV each recipient? This is ridiculous. If I have 4 x 3 TV sets now but plan to get the big screen 6 months from now, you want me to redo each disc? Have you already bought or rented a DVD you have to tell them if you had a TV big screen, so they could decide what DVD to give you? Most importantly, determine what type of TV will be used does not change the fact that no amount of fiddling with the settings have an impact on this issue. The only choice you are using other software or use only 4 x 3 to be played on a 4 x 3 TV clips and clips of 16 x 9 to be played on a large tv screen.

A drive and a blank DVD is all you need. Check

Shouldn't be a problem... DVD-video is encoded based on the duration

  • How can I burn only a part chosen project on a DVD?

    Afternoon everyone,

We have uploaded a number of clips of our HDV that we wanted to use to make a short film (a value of 1 hour of clips will eventually be a movie about half of this length). After that, we decided to do a "Preview" of 2 minutes with a value of mixed clips (5 in total) with music... I made a new copy of the entire project and then deleted everything that we did not want to go to the original collection of 1 hours of clips downloaded so that the project has left just two minutes of clips.

When we tried to burn this DVD he seemed to try to do the entire project, including a whole bunch of nothing where I deleted everything in 2 minutes.

Could you please tell me how select only 2 minutes to a value of 5 clips and audio so that I can burn only few DVD and also upload to YouTube.

Thank you 1 million of a disputed novice who cannot find all the instructions to achieve...

    JON

    Jon,

Looks like you have done, just as it should, the Save_As and delete everything that is not desired. If you did the removal of the chronology, nothing of the old project, which should be included there. A DVD is transcoded and burned the chronology. If the assets are not there, they will be not included in the DVD, even if you don't have whatever it is deleted from the project Panel.

Tell us about the Clips now on your Timeline. Also, you can check the timeline, by hitting the \ (backslash key) and looking towards the end of the timeline. You got any "orphaned"? Check all video tracks, even if you have to scroll to see them all. Is the duration of the timeline (displayed in the program monitor) corresponds to what you think it should? If this isn't the case, then you probably orphans, you missed the deletion.

    Good luck

  • M50-192: DVD - Ram Mat * a UJ - 841 S burn only 2 x

    Hi guys

This perticular drive reconises only Ritek 8 x G05 media as 2 x any idea why it will burn only at 2 x using NERO and Sonic Record now.

Been intouch with the place where the laptop was purchased from and they explained that it could be a problem of firmware with this perticular Media.

So so I need some food to go back about what kind of 8 x speed support this writer will use.

If it is a firmware issue, it is a problem for end users who wish to use Ritek media.

    Hello

Well, I use the TDK and I m very happy. You should try using different media.

Also, I read that this new driver could resolve the burning question.

    Response

    Hello

    1. are you able to read any type of file .doc or .txt of DVD?

After following all the steps (including the update of the MP9 for Media Player [MP] 11) below

I can get the drive to DISPLAY all the data from the DVD (Master & Commander 'movie)

on-screen MP11.  He plays (automatically) the intro (ONLY) from the DVD music (as when you put it in a DVD player, forward to press PLAY) MP11 shows all of the content and all the files on the DVD and SEEMS ready to play, but pressing on PLAY don't either not anything.

2 , what exactly happens when you try to burn the CD? You get the error message?

    Not nothing... He's here

    3. How do you try to burn CDs?

MediaPlayer, selection of a track list, made a list of titles, and then click BURN... nothing happens

4 have you tried to play the DVD content in ? windows media player

I had not before, but now I have.  Previously it was default to my SELECTION WIN DVD4 as the DVD player (I think I've EVER SEEN the WINDVD format/start page on the front screen - it wasn't the default front DVD player either but don't remember what program PLAYS the DVD, he ' comes of ").  Now, go back and see 1. above for MP11 more details.

Try to update the drivers of CD-RW/DVD drive and check. Also update the graphics driver.

    I did the entire bottom.

    1. click on Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.

2 click on the hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

3 right-click on the CD-RW/DVD drive, and then select set to update driver.

He asks if I have an OEM driver and / disk... NO.. I run the program through...

"Hardware update Wiz can not find a better match the software installed"

    4. right click on the graphics card and select Update driver. »

There is no "graphics card" on the material.  This machine has integrated graphics using a part of the main memory (or other) to run the video section:

    I find:

AUDIO, VIDEO and GAME controllers (announcement)

    Audio codecs

    Audio drivers

    Legacy video capture device

    Media control devices

    Audio Sigma

    Video codecs

All this seem normal but above I see YELLOW TWO warnings under 'OTHER DEVICES '.

?!  Ethernet controller "drivers for this divide (code28) is not installed.

?! VIDEO CONTROLLER (VGA Compatible) I didn't HAVE NO IDEA if THIS if APPLIES OR NOT

Did yesterday.  It installed/ran "MR. Microsoft Fixit' with the result:

"Question: media in the CD-RW/DVD drive is not readable" CLICKED top DIFFICULTY... and after computer "worked" on this subject awhile, he says STATUS: fixed.  St ill did not.   MP9 introduced the format of the DVD player but don't seem to read anything other then showing a list:

    UNKNOWN

    Title 1

    Title2

Title 3 etc., but could not do anything with this list.

He appeared a box asking if I wanted to update my MP9... sure why not so I shut everything down and uninstalled 9 and installed Media player 11.

Go BACK to # 1. now once again.  This is where I am.  MP11 shows all DVD data, the chart "the Album/DVD cover, all"titles"on the DVD, AND play the track audio 'intro' DVD but will not actually READ the DVD. "

So far it's PROGRESS.  We are at a point where it SEEMS at least that we are ready to PLAY and MP can SEE all the info on the DVD.

I see many people on other sites of the same question: Player does not work after FORMAT operating system and reinstall of WIN (and in my case: WinXP SP3 and WIN DVD4 of OEM disc)

Thanks a lot for your help so far... I hope that we can get to the next step and get the reader of CD-RW/DVD on 'PLAY '.

    =====================================
Windows Media Player will not rip a DVD but there is no
reason for ripping a DVD homemade that contains movies at home.

Homemade (copy unprotected) DVD is easy...
Simply insert the DVD in your DVD player... to... Start /.
Computer... right click on the DVD drive icon and
Choose explores... you should see the directory of the DVD.

    File 'VIDEO_TS' Now... Copy/Paste or drag/drop...the
from the DVD in a new folder (renamed to)
the DVD corresponding) on your hard drive and what's.

If you have VLC Media Player on your system (for example)
you could click with the right button on the VIDEO_TS folder and choose...
"Play with VLC Media Player" and the video will play.

These files can be several gigabytes that copy makes
    some time... have patience.

Now... If you want to duplicate the DVD... What follows
Freeware can create an ISO Image of the DVD and
Then you can burn the ISO Image on as many copies

  • CD burner to upgrade for DVD/CD Burner writer on 2005 Dell XPS 400

Hello. I have a hard time with my update of the DVD/CD burner on my XPS 400 desktop Tower. It's a workaholic and work PC has a 3.0 Ghz dual-core, 64-bit processor and plenty of RAM. I bought a new ASUS DVD/CD writer (compatibility problem?) and an adapter to convert from IDE to SATA. Windows does not recognize the new hardware. It is not in the BIOS or Device Manager. I tried all possible 'fix - it' I could find online, and nothing works! In a Tech forum, someone said that the IDE to SATA can be bad? I do not know. Is there a specific CD/DVD writer should I buy for this year, brand and model of turn Dell? Is it ASUS we may be incompatible?  There used to be only a CD burner, which worked well. It also has a CD Rom/DVD drive, that work fine, but now it does not work after you install the new burner.
    Frustrated.
    Does anyone have answers here?

Attach one end of a cable to SATA data to a SATA port on the motherboard and the other end into the connector on the back of the new burner SATA data. You will also need to connect the burner to the power supply. Finally, ensure that the SATA port is enabled in the BIOS.

Press F1 to continue or F2 for Setup. »

I have to press F1 to continue, to go back to my device manager and click with the right button on my storage looking for new hardware devices.  It detects the new Pioneer device and takes about 10-15 min. to install drivers... don't know why it took so long but good.  However, when I go to 'My Computer', or my new Pioneer drive or my standard CD-ROM player appear on the screen.

At this point, I try to do a reboot to see if that will pull up the readers once again, but my computer is still frozen on the "shut down" screen for about 1/2 hour.  Then, I don't have a very wide power and back on but now the Device Manager does not recognize ONE of my DVD or CD ROM drives and still does not appear on "My Computer".

Sometimes, CDs and burned DVD cannot be read with no closing sessions of engraving. You should check this option.
In addition, this burning program did you use?
I use Nero. Form is the program better combustion and I never had a problem.
What you need to do is to test several DVDs. not all media work on the disc.
