Help! Problem installation internal Dimension E510 w/Vista Pioneer DVD/CD burner

I recently bought a DVD/CD burner internal Pioneer (model DVR-1910LS) to replace the current CD Sony DVD burner.  Clarification on the pioneer can burn CDs and DVDs but my Sony Burns only CD

I removed the My Device Manager Sony Reader, shut down my computer and installed the new drive Pioneer.  On reboot, I get the following error message:

"Drive 3 not found: Parallel ATA, PATA-1 (PRI IDE slave)."

Press F1 to continue or F2 for Setup. »

I have to press F1 to continue, to go back to my device manager and click with the right button on my storage looking for new hardware devices.  It detects the new Pioneer device and takes about 10-15 min. to install drivers... don't know why it took so long but good.  However, when I go to 'My Computer', or my new Pioneer drive or my standard CD-ROM player appear on the screen.

At this point, I try to do a reboot to see if that will pull up the readers once again, but my computer is still frozen on the "shut down" screen for about 1/2 hour.  Then, I don't have a very wide power and back on but now the Device Manager does not recognize ONE of my DVD or CD ROM drives and still does not appear on "My Computer".

I reinstalled my Sony and which still works fine, but I really need the ability to burn DVDs on this new device.  Can someone help me?

Also, I got a Dell Dimension E510 out of Windows Vista.

My question is: I'll be able to install a copy of the full version of Windows XP on the E510 come my HARD drive or the BIOS somehow will not allow this?

I heard that the BIOS and the operating system is linked together for Dell PCs, not sure though. Any help is appreciated.

  • I have a problem with the download of Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

Original title: Vista SP2 help for download

I just download Vista SP2 on my Compaq Presario PC and it seemed to install correctly.  However, after it restarted my computer, nothing happened.  The computer was on, but he was not making a noise and the screen was black (and eventually appeared in mode 'sleep').  After about 3 hours of this, I restarted my computer manually. When I turned it on the Tower made a lot of noise (sounded like a blowing fan), but the screen remained black and didn't try again to exit mode 'sleep' (even when I moved my mouse and restarted my monitor).  I am unable to do anything on my desk now, then, what can I do to fix this?

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi, Eve,.

First run the preparation tool system update for your version of Windows.

Start > right click on computer

    Select Properties

Under system > Type system, you will see the 32 - bit or 64-bit system

    Download the tool for your system (x 86 is 32-bit, x 64 is 64-bit)

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947821

When finished, restart the update.  If the update fails, you will need to repair Windows.

Your DVD says recovery?  This is the DVD, you will need to reinstall or repair Windows.

What is the make and model of your computer.  The manufacturers provide a Recovery Utility in many cases.

Ex: HP provides a Recovery Manager for their computers

It is found by clicking Start > all programs > PC Help & Tools

    Click on Recovery Manager

I started my Dell Inspiron 1420 under Windows Vista Home Premium in place and led to a warning screen indicating an error in startup.  As stated, I started from my Vista installation DVD.  I ran the Startup Repair tool, and it failed.  The event log has been as follows:

    Problem event name: StartupRepairV2

I then ran the System Restore tool and it failed.  I then ran the Memory Diagnostics tool, and it found no errors.  Given the lack of success, I decided to reformat and reinstall.  I used the Advanced Options in Windows Vista Setup DVD to remove the Partitions, format the drive and install Windows.

Post installation Windows started successfully the first time but was running slowly.  I tried to download the drivers from the CD of Installation of Dell, but automatic execution failed, and when I tried to copy individual files, it also failed.  I decided to reboot the machine, but instead of Windows, I got a blank screen with white cursor blinking in the upper left corner.  I tried to reboot from the Installation DVD and once the progress opening white Windows files completed bar, I was presented with a black screen and a cursor again.

Since then, I was not able to start any CD/DVD successfully.  What should I do now?  I am happy to reformat and try again, but I can not even on the screen to do.

    Help!  Please?

    Hello Nick_98,

If we are hanging up when you use the installation disc, then the installation disc has problems or hardware on the computer problems that must be addressed before moving forward, there

I advise to use diagnostics provided by your manufacturer to check for hardware problems.

Please note that if the equipment passes the test, it simply means that no error has been detected it.  If we turn to the top of the sensitivity on the diagnosis, we can find errors.

    Best regards

  • DELL DIMENSION E510, using Windows XP

I've damaged my video driver my screen shows limited colors and shows only very large print. The display is connected to a DVI video card. Is there a way I can get a CD containing the driver that went with my system?

Data transfer is easy.  You cannot transfer applications.

Dimension 5150/E510 HJ054 motherboard Bios A07 works without any problem with Pentium D up to 945.  The Dell J8885 KF623 RD203 will make you press F1 to continue.  They will stop with processor is with prior to version A07 bios. The BIOS A07 also passes the Vista Upgrade Advisor scan.  It is therefore recommended for 7 and 8 and 10.

The Pressler Smithfield vs can do LAHF and SAHF as well as CMPExchange16 which means that it works very well if you have a Pentium 900 series D.  This means that you can run 64-bit windows 7, 8 or 10 very well.  RAM can be used Max will always be 3.25 GB regardless of cpu or os to 64-bit or not.  There is a limit of chipset.

The 5150/E510 for this (with caveats such as Bios A07 and the radiator copper Heatpipe exactly the same thing that the GX620. 0HJ054 Version of motherboard supports Pentium D without problem until 945.) When you upgrade to the latest version of the bios and use the copper radiator performance equipped with a pentium D 915 until 945 you can install 64-bit 8.1 win or win 10.  The pentium D and radiator are very cheap.

You need a specific version of the motherboard however to cross press it F1 to continue.

3.25 GB of ram is the maximum regardless of the operating system in 64-bit or 32-bit. With its 3.5 GB GX620.

The max ram that you can publish with a GX320 is less than 4 gigs aka 2.5 gigs or 3 concerts.

8.0 works but 64 bits 8.1 and 10 requires CMPXCHG16b EAP, NX, SSE2, 64-bit, PrefetchW, LAHF/SAHF.  Regardless of the operating system, the max ram is 3.5 concerts due to the limitation of the chipset and INTEL graphics card.

Adding a PCI-E video card does not pick up the ram.

I saw the Pentium d cheap on Ebay and Amazon

SL9QQ seems to be the max for a 5150

  • Dimension E510 video card upgrade

    Hello

I apologize if this isn't the place to ask this question, because I'm not too familiar with the forums.

I am currently using a fairly old Dell Dimension E510 system and hoped to upgrade the video card.  I googled under and turned off for a while now, hoping to find an answer today, but most of the results seem to date several years with links to maps is no longer in stock.  Knowing little about video cards, if someone here could offer advice on a replacement that will last me until I have buy a new PC later in the year, I would really appreciate it.

    My system features:

Size of Windows 7 desktop computer E510
Processor Pentium IV - 3.0 GHZ
4 GB of RAM (3.5 usable)
    Power 460 w (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002G1YPHK)
    Radeon X 300/X 550/X 1050 video card (chip Type: Radeon X 600 Pro)

If he has more information required of it, I'd be happy to try to provide it.  I think that the graphics card uses PCI Express, but to be honest, don't really know how to check if it is 1.0 or 2.0 or 2.1 (or what it really means).

With respect to a replacement of the video card, I mean really something sharp.  I imagine that the system he could not handle anyway.  I do a lot of games on the PC.  For most of World of Warcraft, which I would like to run a bit more smoothly.  It would be also nice to watch videos 1080 on YouTube without stutter constantly, but I don't know how much this has to do with the graphics card and how much has to do with her being just a really old computer.

I would like to spend less than $100 to replace, if possible.  As I said, I plan on getting a new machine later in the year, and it's more a stopgap solution until then.  Still, I obviously prefer the best shot for my money.

I was looking on Amazon, but I don't know if they are to be considered:
    -http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Mini-HDMI-Graphics-01G-P3-1526-KR/dp/B00549HZ7S
    -http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-100292DDR3L/dp/B004N3BH0C

The last seems to his price is great, but I know there are problems of compatibility with PCIE 2.1 and do not know if that would come with my system.

Thank you all for reading and for advice, suggestions or any help that you can offer.

    -Joseph

I would forget the last one (HD 5450).  Very low end and not much better considered as the new HD integrated graphics on computers today.  Also, forget the old 9800 GT.  It is not at all sharp.  Version 2.1 is compatible on motherboards 1.0, which is probably what you have.  If you play WOW, I would not go with the GT 520 either because it is very low end for any type of games.  I would watch the HD 6670 if you want something reasonable in cost and will perform well enough for WOW.  Your old Pentium 4 is just holding you back, however.  Here's a couple to watch and I don't think you need to spend more than one.

  • Dimension E510: Power supply, video cards and fans...

    Howdy Dell Community!

About 2 years ago I bought a Dell Dimension E510 desktop to game and machinima. It has served me pretty well until about a week ago lightning hit a tree outside my window while I tried to shut down my system. The storm came pretty quick and I didn't know that it was there only a rumble of Thunder, so I started to stop, but it was too late: smileysad:. The motherboard was virtually unusable. I took it to a local computer repair shop and the machine lights up and works just fine except for the card NETWORK does not work on the map AND if you did a RAM test that it would fail, but not one stick of RAM could be found with a problem. They ordered a replacement for my Dell motherboard.

So I was thinking the other day, 'now would be a great time to make updates!". I put a 250 GB Seagate Barracuda HARD drive to replace the old 80 GB Hitachi. I also thought to improve cooling, the power supply and the video card. I have a lot of questions so here Let's go!

    (1) can I replace the fan inside the shrowd of cpu with a spare fan fan, and if so what are the dimensions of the fan?

    (2) can / should I strap in a 80 mm fan / 120 mm at the rear of the case to increase the flow of air from the case?

    (3) I heard that put a spare PSU is FRY your motherboard. I don't want that, but Dell doesn't provide upgrades of power supply (isn't that Nice of them?). A power PC Power & Cooling 500W Dell will work with the motherboard and the case?

    (4) after installing a new power supply, something like an ATI Radeon HD 3870 would work well? (compatibility with the motherboard)

    (5) I read something about being owner or something in this sense (like my e510) Dell systems. What is c?

Well, that's all for now. I hope that there will can help me!
    Thanks for your time.
