DVD drive not found

My PC (Pavillion P6022SC originally Windows Vista OS) suddenly frozen. I closed, restarted and had to restore the system - but it also failed - when she has been reset, it was impossible to find the operating system.

I upgradet to Windows 7, a year ago and the HP recovery system has also been upgradet. I tried this once recovery before without problem

I could see in the BIOS setting and who starts any drives hard and no DVD player has been detected. Both types are connected by SATA cables.

I bought a new hard drive, still nothing happened and then I bought a HP recovery kit.

But my DVD is not recognized (1st boot device), and none of the hard drives are recognized. I have an external DVD drive and try this - it is recognized, but the system tells me that none of the hard drives are available, so it is impossible to recover the system.

Can I have a problem with the SATA connections? Or is it aBios or something else.

I am an amateur, so if you are able to respond in a language for Dummies, it would be nice

Hello:

Your model has the M2N78-(purple), which is infamous for the default speed variators.

This is probably what happened in your case.

There are many positions related to this topic.

I have listed a few below.

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-hardware/is-the-M2N78-la-motherboard-prone-to-failure/m-p/1056141/highlight/true#M40317

I would just buy a new or refurbished nine PC rather than fixing that one (which would require a motherboard replacement).

  • CD/DVD drive not found in Windows 7

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1545.  I did a clean install of Windows 7 (x 32 Edition) and since my drive CD/DVD is not found except in the BIOS and when I manually eject the drive it will pop up for a few seconds.  It's a TSST corp DVD +-RW T5 - L633B ATA Device.  Dell has released a driver for the problem, but as my computer can not find the drive it will not download the driver.  It will only appear in a few seconds Device Manager when I eject it, but then it disappears again and will not reappear unless I have the eject again.  When I put a disk it then the drive will show up but that's it.

I tried deleting the upper and lower registry and I also tried the suggestion of integrity checks off without success.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the system manufacturer and the manufacturer of the device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (burn CD & DVD and CD and DVD read). Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are some entries in the registry that the troubleshooter does not solve, and those who "could" be the cause.

Check with your system manufacturer Maker and device for possible firmware updates and the correct registry entries for your car.

He used to work, I don't know why, but it's no more! It is not yet "swallow" any cd/dvd, let alone read...

I tried using microsoft fix and tried to fix it manually but nothing is detected. I feel like I need to reinstall software but I do not know who and where!

    Hi Winniepillow,

What operating system? If you start at the F12 menu go to diagnostics, your DVD drive appear there? If it is not the case, the drive may have failed.

  • CD/dvd driver not found when installing Windows 7 on Asus f501A

I am trying to install windows 7 on this laptop. Windows 8 are installed, but the drivers for the hardware that I need to use are not supported. I connect to cd/dvd-rom to boot from usb. I can install windows now the next screen ask a driver for the cd/dvd driver.

I suggest, if you want to run Windows 7 on your system, you must do it through a virtual machine:

You can use alternatives such as Oracle VirtualBox or VMWare Player.

    https://www.VirtualBox.org/wiki/downloads

    VMware Player;

    http://downloads.VMware.com/d/details/player_401/dGpkYnRwd3didGRwQA==

    or

You will first need to go to the website of manufacturers for your model computer and first find out if there are native drivers in Windows 7. A large number of computers that are preloaded with Windows 8 have no native driver support for Windows 7 by the manufacturer. If there is no native driver, you will need to consider returning the machine and buying a machine preloaded with Windows 8 Pro with downgrade rights to Windows 7 Professional. Or look through the catalogue of manufacturers for systems already preloaded with Windows 7, usually the business sector will have these options.

Seems to work now. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. Any ideas on how it happened would be appreciated.

I want to recovery my Tecra A6, but when I insert the first (of three) DVD and restart my system to get to the recovery

Menu (when booting from the recovery DVD) just rebooted my laptop and every time I try this (very simple procedure) this

That's why I tried to get it back to Win XP > Toshiba Recovery Wizard... in the first DVD in the 'BIN' folder there isn't

a "RECOVERY.bat" batch file when I run this file will open a CMD window and checks are willing (and then the

    "

Please press [OK] to turn the computer off.
    "
If I press OK the any immediately goes down (without shut down windows) and I have to restart.
Also my laptop works properly my recovery DVDs sounds great, I want to just recover my system because of the speed more

    in Win XP.
Maybe there is a new firmware for my HARD drive or an update of the BIOS so that the laptop could detect my HDD.
In Device Manager, my HARD drive is: HTS541010G9SA00

Wait a minute: you try to run recovery as OS installation?

The recovery procedure must be on path:
Turn on the laptop and press the F12 key
When the bootable devices appear put the first media for recovery in the optical disc drive
Choose CD/DVD media from the list and press ENTER

  • Hard drive not found error

    Hey everybody,

My HP Pavilion G6 - 1164sa is coming up with an error "Hard drive not found" at the start up. It also makes a clicking sound. have you tried another hard drive to an old laptop in its place and the works, but because it is not the correct drivers installed for this model most things do not work. Need a solution to this? can I order a new hard drive for hp with all the drivers installed?

Your drivers are posted on your support page > HERE

You can order a hard drive at HP, but it will be a hard drive Virgin, as well as a new hdd retail except at much higher prices. I would like to replace the hard drive with a > hdd retail.

If you plan to use recovery disks to reinstall Windows & software/drivers have one that is at least as large a capacity than the original, may be larger, but not smaller. If you have not written a set of recovery discs, you can usually order from HP for a small fee.

If you can read the Windows 25-character license key attached to the bottom of the laptop there is possibility to download an ISO file, burn it to DVD and install Windows. Then you need to download your drivers on the support site. (Any size hard disk could be used with this option)

  • Inspiron 1545 - hard drive replacement, new drive SATA not found 'internal hard drive not found ".

    Hi all

I'm trying to install Win7 in an Inspiron 1545 with a new SATA hard drive that has been purchased. When I insert the disc, I get "Internal hard drive not found." I checked the drive does not appear in the BIOS, I already tried to reinstall the drive several times. In addition, I tried to load the chipset drivers, drivers SATA, etc. of the Dells, the Reader site still does not appear in the installation of the OS when starting on a DVD or in the bios.

I do not think that there is a problem with the new drive, I plugged the new drive in another Dell laptop model and it recognizes the drive in the BIOS, also I can always start on the previous in this laptop without problem hard drive when I plug it in.

Is there a specific driver, etc. should I use for the drive to be recognized or have other thoughts?

It's strange - either the new HDD has a rare compatibility with your embedded controller problem (I use a 500Gbyte in my 1545 no probs)) or it is a mechanical problem. I look at the physical dimensions and compare your original hdd by the new. Watch the video (even if it's on a 1525 (similar to a 1545) and a SSD hard drive)-go to 02:20

    Hello

I had to do a clean reinstall of Windows XP, Service Pack 2 (not recovery discs) on the A60.
I reinstalled all the drivers in the order on the list to install it, but when I try to install the Hotkey utility for display it stops and reports "driver not found".

    Hello

I am not sure what the problem may be, but as I see in the statement of the facilities is written:
    ...
Toshiba hotkey utility for display V1.00.03SA
    Toshiba hotkey utility V1.00.08SA
    ...

    Did you follow this order?
Try please install Toshiba hotkey utility V1.00.08SA at the beginning and then Toshiba hotkey utility for display V1.00.03SA.
After doing this installation utility V1.00.07SA TOSHIBA.

MI is logical to install hotkey utility first.

    Concerning
    REDA

The XP operating system could not find the HARD drive because you have not installed the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
It is a SATA driver is needed t install the XP.

During the operating system installation process, you will need to press the F6 key to include the external USB FDD drive SATA driver.

It you don t have a USB FDD drive then nLite software could be a solution.

  • Pavilion Slimline s5-1020: DVD drive not recognized in Device Manager

My rarely used DVD player no longer works. Here are the things I have seen/made:
-J' updated to Windows 10. It may or may not have stopped working before the update.
-I update Windows automatically, and everything seems to be in order there.
-The DVD seems to be operational, insofar as you can hear it turn when a disc is inserted.
-Setup recognizes, and it is enabled; It is not at all in Device Manager or in the file Explorer.
Based on the things I've tried, there are indications that it may be either a hardware or a software problem (or both?):

    SOFTWARE PROBLEM?
I followed these as much as possible:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03370738#c03370738_NoDriveWin8
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03370738#c01895589_resetpower
    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-CD-DVD-read-only/read-this-for-CD-DVD-drive-with-burning-Missin...

    -I got disconnected/reconnected the drive.
-J' tried various DVD I knew to do.
-I don't have to update the BIOS, given warnings.
    - Nor did I mess with registry filters.
-J' tried to find a Microsoft Fixit solution, but the one referenced somewhere in these pages don't apply to this OS - I think it was for Win 7.  I tried MS Control Panel convenience stores, but none of them worked.
So I can't say whether or not it is a software problem.

    HARDWARE PROBLEM?
-J' have set the boot on the CD order in configuration and the desktop with Windows 7 HP Pavilion system repair disc - nothing happened, he went straight to the HD (even if I had turned off).  So that leads me to believe it may be a hardware problem after all.

Do I have other options at this point, except maybe buy another drive?  And in fact if I do, it is possible that one does not work either?

While you are not alone in this problem, here's a thread that deals with her.
