DVD player works, but internet browser has no audio - Inspiron e1405
I messed up my audio somehow, and I'd really like an overview of the setting.
I have an Inspiron e1405 running Windows Vista.
Some time ago I tried to update the audio drivers to fix the well known audio bug crackling. I finished by having always the crackling, but having only not the characteristics of Creative Audio Center more.
Two days ago, I tried to reinstall the creative features. I'm done with no audio. After some trial and error, I now work part audio (including Creative). But for some reason, the base audio system does not work.
DVD playback works fine, and I can hear the audio in Skype. But Firefox and Internet Explorer have no audio signal, and neither does Google Talk (stand-alone client). Also, isn't the Windows system volume icon in my system tray.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!
Andrew

Bad audio when the DVD player works
I have an Inspiron 1520. For years, that everything worked well. Now, I'm having a problem with my audio. It works fine when I play music or movies from files on your computer. But when I play something of my DVD (audio CD or DVD) drive, the sound is very crackley and stuttering. It also occurs if the DVD player works (i.e. burn a disc) and I play a file (movie or music) from my computer. There must be some sort of link between what is happening when my DVD drive is rotating & my speakers or other audio link.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Try this. Go to http://winhlp.com/node/10 they have a small script program to restore the DMA mode. Click on the link in their 1st step. (Note: for best results, use Internet Explorer when you run the script vbs to step 1). Read the instructions in steps 2 through 5, and then run the program. He made changes to your Windows registry database to try to give (s) the use of the DMA mode. If you want to know exactly what the program does, scroll to "Reactivate the DMA using the registry editor" for the full explanation.

Adobe Flash Player 11.0.1.152 could not install. Flash Player 11.1.102.62 installation manual (32 & 64-bit version) managed after that Ctrl, Alt, delete on the processes tab find firefox.exe * 32 has been active and I finished it. Flash Player installer said "Install Complete" I uninstalled Firefox and Flash Player several times without success. However, Flash Player works with Internet Explorer! What seems to be the problem? [email protected]
You have probably installed a 64 bit version of Flash for Firefox plugin.
Firefox is a 332-bit application, so you need 32-bit versions of a plugin to make it work. You can find the 32-bit version of the Flash Player installer for a 32-bit version of Firefox here (scroll down to Flash Player (32-bit)):

No need to worry about the disk version. He would just install an update anyway once it has been installed. Download from the link provided below and use the serial number, you need to activate.

I'm trying to access a web application (webmin) and I get the following error message:
This module requires java to work, but your browser does not support java
It was working before. Chrome works fine, but I prefer firefox. One of my clients is having the same problem but others using firefox isn't the problem.
I understand that you are under Linux.
I had this same problem and fixed it by adding the package icedtea6-plugin on Ubuntu. IcedTea6-plugin is a plugin for web browser to run Java applets.

Hello:
DVD players, both came with the PC and MSI DVD - Rom I bought through the Internet works ONLY for playback of CD - r and DVD - r, but the two do NOT write/burn brand new DVD and CD - R, popping up in the middle of the screen,... Please insert the blank in the E floppy when I actually inserted in the DVD drive.
I have uninstall and rebooted the PC, in the hope that readers DVD works OK,... but nothing helps.
Wonder if the registry damaged for DVD player, or what other problems causing this problem?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Hello
Have you checked if the CD/DVD drive you purchased is a recordable disc? If this is the case, there should be an indication (e.g., CD-RW/DVD-RW). You can also check for the indication Device Manager.
If you have confirmed that it is indeed able to write on the discs, then try to activate the IMAPI. To do this please see the instructions below.
1. click on start
2. click on run
3 type "services.msc" (without the quotes)
4. in the window that opens, you select IMAPI
5. right-click on it and select "Properties".
6 start the services.

If I undestand you well, you can run this command ping: ping www.yahoo.com, no problem, but when you're using any browser, you cannot access the web page www.yahoo.com, can you?
First you can try - full reset TCP and Winsock by this command line command - click on Start - run and write CMD , click OK. Then write this command:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset log.txt

When using my computer and log on to a program I often get "internet explore has encountered a problem and needs to close."
All my attempts to solve this problem have failed. The information I found says it could be caused by a recently installed program that was the ultimate Media Player. All attempts to uninstall it failed and I do not know if this is the problem.
Hello
1. what happens when you try to uninstall the program?
2. you receive messages or error codes?
You can try running the fixit from the following link and check if you can uninstall the program.

Cannot get the CD/DVD player to play
Hello
Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

nslookup works but nothing else has DNS on standalone PC Win7.
I can connect to cables and wireless networks, the computer gets an IP address and the gateway and DNS from DHCP server very well and I can connect to things via ip but nothing can resolve DNS nslookup, which seems to work perfectly except. Network and sharing Center shows as 'connected' and 'no internet access. I tried many things, and now, I'm stumped. The problems began when a router has failed recently, several other machines come online when the defective router was replaced, but it never did.
Some of the things I've tried...
uninstalled anything that could possibly mess with networking: McAfee, Hamachi, Hello etc.
has run the McAfee removal tool
starts in safe mode
tried multiple profiles
turned off the windows firewall
Unchecked
the DNS 8.8.8.8 manually for each card value
Set an IP address for google.com manually in the hosts file: ping will not always solve this
disabled the dnscache service: makes no difference then re-not active it
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt: not a no effect and resetlog.txt is never created
netsh winsock reset
sfc/scannow: not found corruption
unchecked ipv6 for all network adapters in the system
restarted, like, a million timesCPP, DHCP, DNS Client that all seem to be running.
Hardware tests very well, no DNS problems with interface either when running a linux boot disk, so there must be software.
There is nothing in the logs has not already was a problem for several months or is not directly attributable to the lack of connectivity, this problem of network is new from 3 or 4 days. Significant error entries only are, annoyingly, for system restore and VSS which means that the system did not the restore points for several months, and even more annoyingly, fails to restore those what already with a "catastrophic error 0x8000ffff". Embarrassing if it isn't, there was obviously a problem for months without affecting the networking.
Interestingly under "Access Type:" network and sharing Center, I get "No Internet access", but when I open a browser and go to google via an IP (173.194.37.136) that changes quickly to 'Internet' although I still cannot ping google.
Other the only thing I found which looks not right is that ipconfig/registerdns does appear the error: "DNS record failed: the RPC server is unavailable" which seems strange as CPP indicates its execution in services.msc and everything seems to be OK. There are a few pages on the web that mention this error but they seem to everyone apply to servers and it is a dell laptop vanilla Win7HP64 running.
Things that I have not tried...
relocation of hardware drivers: I tell myself that if it affects Intel Realtek LAN WiFi AND it may not be the drivers for those
I'm now ideas.
Help please!

DVD player works intermittently for movies.
I work with a few volunteers at the forum of videos to try to get the DVD movies to play, play smoothly and have all the functions (scene selection, special features, etc.) work.
We could make only occurring on some films, others would either play all, play that once in awhile and when they made the video was "choppy" but the audio smoothly.
The conclusion was that I have a problem with the hardware with the optical drive.
Any suggestions for an auto repair?
If this is not the case, repair, suggestions for the good and cheap to replace the optical drive and a source to get it?
Computer: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC, FS126UA #ABA
Operating system: Microsoft Windows Vista 6.0, S.P. 2, 64-bit
Optical drive: TSScorp CDDVDW TS-L633L, FW revision 0400Thank you!
Broodstock
Found a solution! I found this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939052 and follow-up directions to make sure volume existed on and Media Player off the coast and the two films (John Wayne!) that would not play, played without a hitch. I then put back them in to make sure I had a good fix and neither would play... In frustration, I've blown on and in the optical drive open, put the dvd back and they played every time. I got out another dozen DVD and tried and they all play perfectly. I guess that cleaning, it would have been my first effort: o) is there available optical drive cleaning discs, or is there an accepted method of cleaning the drive?

On a Windows 7 (32 bit), I've already installed Flash player version 11.1.102.55. Internet Explorer (version 9) running Flash Player but Mozilla Firefox (version 9.0.1) content and Google Chrome (16.0.912.75) keeps that requires an updated Flash Player version (already installed the last of them: 11.1.102.55)
Well, Google Chrome has integrated Flash Player that you can not change, update of Google Chrome.
In C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash files contain only the Flash Player for Firefox, so I don't know how you play Flash with I.E.9(9.04?) videos.
I suggest a clean install: How to do a clean install of the Flash Player?
Be sure to run both of these installers.
