DVD rom optical drive [Slot in]-problem

The drive used on several occasions to stop working, in this sense, by pressing the eject button would not work...

Previous two times that happened, it starts automatically after a few reboots or...

But this time its not working still do not... Can't insert any CD/DVD nor fact that no indication comes when I press the eject button [the low noise or light or slight vibration can't]

But, when I right click on the drive in say n computer Eject, the light works... It is the occurrence of the thing.

Can U please tell me what I need to do... I have the warranty until 2011.

Help me please you know how I go about it

Looks like a malfunction of the equipment.

I'm sure you must bring it to the service.

  • Optical drive slot, media with paper label

I copy lots of CDs for my wife chorus. It appears (process of elimination) CD (with standard around the CD labels) turns properly, make a LOT of noise, can not climb, may hang on a track and will not eject, even after all the noises appropriate ejection. The last of them, I've tried finally jumps after several hours. I'm guessing that the thickness of the media is what is the cause.

CD printed surface seems to work well, and the ones I burn very good ejection. I print my labels directly on printable CD I have (thanks to my brother InkJet) burn and they load, burn and eject fine.

My primary iMac is a late 2009 / early 2010. Now, I took the drive incriminated upstairs for my G5 iMac ancient network. The paper CD went in fine, carefully read and ejected very well. So, I just left it up there and accessed through sharing. But it is a workaround.

Apple suggested replacing the optical drive, but I wonder if my theory 'too-thick' is logical and I need a new (as long as I keep the G5). In fact, a new may present the same problems, right?

    Does make sense?

    Hey Harris,.

Yes, that makes sense. Because the SuperDrive is a specific thickness, you will encounter issues with the drive being accepted or ejection of him as well. Take a look at the general troubleshooting for the slot loading SuperDrive for this response and a few additional questions you may have.

  • This device cannot start (Code 10) - referring to the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM internal drive.

Since yesterday I get the message above regarding my internal CD on my Acer laptop drive.

The PC is barely over a year old & the Cd-Rom works fine up until now.

I recently moved from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional (about 2 weeks ago) and the CD-Rom drive has been used successfully to restore all my backup files that W7 is a new installation (not an upgrade).

I removed the CD-Rom drive (a device slimtype DVD ADS8A2S Philips - Lite-on according to its label) and have re-connected it, but it still does not work.

Windows seems to see the device when I say add a device, but when he tries automatically configer it I get the message "there is a problem with the driver for Slimtype DVD A DS8A2S ATA Device. "Reinstall the driver may resolve this problem" and gives me the ability to "Apply patch" or "jump the fix. When I choose "Apply patch" I finally get the message "device driver software not properly installed" - Please consult the manufacturer of your device to help... »

Someone at - it ideas why all of a sudden I get a problem with my CD, I can not restore to any previous backups that I need a CD-Rom drive to do? In the meantime, I'll do a search in the site of compatibility of Windows to see if I can find a match for my camera and what he said about it.

PS. the only thing different (new) I did just before I lost my CD-Rom has been thast I had linked to a conversion cassette tape via a USB device that my wife wanted some songs from an old tape of copy on CD. Tape copied OK and was transferred to the software iTunes on the PC, but when I said that I wanted to "Burn" the selection in College, I noticed that my CD-Rom (player 'E') show is no longer on my PC configuration, only on disks hard "C" and "D". If this has an impact on my problem, I don't know - it could just have been a co-fact?

The following MS KB article may help:

Try the auto fix (Mats - Run.dvd.exe) and if that doesn't work try following the steps for Windows Vista, which should also work for Windows 7.

These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.

  • Startup/reading CD/DVD-ROM on my Sam 1800 problem

    Hello

I have a Satellite 1800-700 with a CD TEAC DV-28-A/DVD player. The drive works fine, except when I try to boot from the CD/DVD (I have a couple of Live CD of different linux distributions that I would try - see which ones that take in the material).

CDs all start on the display options of the core - I get this first screen with each of them, however, when I make my selection and try to keep the computer hangs either or I get a CRC error, tell me that there is some sort of problem with playing.

I tried the CD with other computers and they work fine. I also started windows and looked through the CD directory structure and it also works without problem.

Only when I boot directly from CD/DVD drive misbehave.

    Any ideas?

  • Need to buy the optical drive for M100 - problem accersories

Hi everyone, my problem is not the compatibility of disks currently on the market. I just bought a beautiful M100 P 1.3 GHz IR/BT/LAN/WFb/g but without a drive. As I looked for a problem including the addition of accessories has occurred. A kind of grid and a reduction is necessary, but I can't find one of these things on the pages of toshiba. In fact the new readers are not compatible with my NB . Can someone tell me what to do about it? I'm waiting for my OS to crush and what then? No cd no OS not working, NO WAY! Thanks for your help.

According to me, it will be much easier if you buy an external pcmicia card driver that is compatible with the computer and allows you to restore the system in the future.

  • Presario v3000 think usb flash drive is a CD-ROM/dvd-rom; recognizes any CD

Presario v3000 running XP PRO sp3

    Hello

My CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive disappeared from the Manager of devices and Windows Explorer about 2 weeks; I tried all the fixes the base of knowledge without result. When I put a CD in I can hear it running, but nothing happens, even when Windows says it's looking for a CD.

However, when I put a Flash drive on a port USB, "reader of CD/DVD-ROM" appears in the device, Manager who think that Flash is a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM called drive'Sandisk U3 cruzer Micro USB device'.  Dev man lists the Flash exactly in the same way under ""hard drives "; " under "Bus USB controllers ' it is listed as'USB mass storage device'.

Even with the USB flash drive, "'my computer ' still does not show aCD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive, but it puts a CD icon next to "U3 system", which he calls"(e) ". "

Here's what looks like 'My Computer' in Windows Explorer:

(drive icon)   + Local Disk (C:)

    (drive icon)  + HP_RECOVERY (:)) d )

    (cd icon) System U3 (e :)) )

    (drive icon)  + PKBACK #001 (f)

I am so very confused and mentally exhausted.  Can someone please help me straighten this mess?

    Thank you...

    Hello

Do you have ANY suggestions I made in the listed order? If this isn't the case, please try again.

Panasonic is owned by Matsushita (or Mashita).

You should be able to get the drivers or firmware of your system manufacturer upgrades
If there is any. Most readers use the default settings of Windows. Check with Panasonic Mashita.

You can also get information from the firmware here:

    Hello

You can buy a brand new for less than $50 or $80 with BluRay. It's a little more expensive for an external drive. I bought a pioneer of externally for $149 with BD burner because I don't use office. Please use the following manuals for your repair work:

  • Optical drive for XPS 17 (L702X) read is not all disks

I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit, after that my HARD drive has failed.  After reinstalling on a SSD my optical drive is having problems recognizing discs.

    • Audio CDs are readable
    • Burned data discs are readable
    • An a printer installation disc is recognized, but the drive seemed too hard trying to read the disc
    • Set of diskettes (Starcraft 1 & 2) are all two not recognized at all
    • DVD is not recognized at all the
    • Blu Rays are not recognized at all the

This player has no analysis of my Dell of the reader.  It doesn't have the 'Linear CD compare Test read' after that everything else in the way of a data CD was necessary for.  The 'Audio CD test' it, but it has never acknowledged any of the DVD after that.  The same thing happened with Blu Rays.

Windows says I updated all the drivers required.  When I go into Device Manager identifies the optical drive as a "CD-ROM/DVD-ROM readers."  If I ask the Device Manager to search for updates for the driver it says I have the latest version "Drive of CD-ROM."

I also went to the Dell support Web site and entered my serial number.  I tried to update the firmware on the drive (4 firmware updates are displayed under "Removable storage" and according to me, it says I already have the latest version.

This computer was delivered at Dell with PowerDVD, I do not have the reinstallation. I have VLC, I could play DVDs. I really hope that getting the right software is not easy, my quick fix. I feel really stupid (but grateful that you pointed out there!)

I'm 'Ok' when it comes to work on my machine, but I'm still learning a lot.  These are my symptoms and what I tried.  Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to hearing from someone.  Thank you once again!

I use M17X bought in September 09, 4 years of good performance in trouble with SATA and ATA HDs. After some time tried to fix and find materials and parts always treated with Bios Core Secure of the system or has been changed. I'm in the same situation as yours. Here what you need to do to test and verify the performed pieces, then ask media with your serial number, specifications and part numbers.

    1. use Bios to identify the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM optical part still detected with part numbers or not.

    2. diagnosis with CD Sources

These measures will help to ensure that your readers optical and material always go with it and protected by the system or has been modified.

I had the same problem since 2012, later than some of my friends using different models and systems such as M18X, M15X asked and showed that they haved problems with this problem of discs discs too.

    Good luck!
