DVD showing "Temporary burn folder" instead of a real folder in Windows 7

I burned a DVD using CDBurnerXP, which contains four files in the root (and an another subfolder within one of them). The disc contains mostly JPGs... disk size approximately 2.8 GB. The DVD checked properly.

The last folder in the root called 'Tim' but show in Explorer as "temporary burn folder.

I opened the disc with IsoBuster and can see the ISO, Joliet & UDF systems all with the correct name of the file. This can also be checked with a disk editor.

Open the disc in Windows XP SP3 also reads the correct name. So why the Windows 7 Explorer is rename my folder?

Aaron G,.

As my last post stated, I already tried all these things!

For the record, the problem is reproducible and is currently sought by Microsoft, within the following forum:

http://social.msdn.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/windowsopticalplatform/thread/5b7d515e-f2fd-4547-ba48-ff88f1f6f02a

Thank you for asking.

  • Desktop.ini drop-in DIFFICULTY PERMANENT advice of recordable media (CD/DVD/blue ray burner)

I am using windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit with the last update for now,

    (UPDATED with CORRECTION)

"desktop.ini" with detail files [.] [ShellClassInfo]... shell32.dll,-21815 will no longer appear when a writable media in the drive.

I suspect that it was abnormal and error of windows system, the first time I run the PC after reformatting and restoring, there was no such desktop.ini in the recordable media. I notice it start up after microsoft windows LIVE essential and games for windows LIVE installation.

I have made many try hard but he still see the intermittently. even with security update and latest ms windows, updates essential...

first step, type "regedit" in start search, to run the registry editor program.

then go to the Edit menu, and then search FOR "shell32.dll,-21815", in:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {...}

check with "shell32.dll,-21815" and the relative path "Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn."

    If so found,

Export the registry and save it as burner.reg. then,

only remove the "localizedname' and the 'attributes' and keep the rest.  (CORRECTION)

then FIND 'Windows\Burn\', look for this register with the address "c:\user\...\AppData\...". Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn' or

    "Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn", or

    "c:\user\...\AppData\...". File Microsoft\Windows\burn\temporary to burn' Rename 'c:\user\...\AppData\... '. Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn,"

"Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Temporary Burn Folder" rename it to "Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn".

ensure that it was 'Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn', look after pressing F3 keyboard will repeat the same task...

    Close regedit.

THEN go to the \AppData\local\microsoft\windows\burn C:\user\(your user account), delete the folder "burn" or "temporary burn folder" or both if available.

Then make a new folder name 'burn '. , restart the computer, note start the computer to the top of windows significantly faster...

FINISHING WORK, SOLVE it... the desktop.ini will never appear in the recordable media player. all normal, can burn the recordable, the file to be burn save temporary burn folder will delete automatically after burning, everything as usual, no error.

    (CORRECTION)

I suspect the the desktop.ini performed from the Games for Windows LIVE search software keep for any PC games in the hard drive and remove-able, perhaps from this, the computer run more slowly than the condition of freshly reformatted / PC Restore. It acts like a virus that prevents the monitor and look for any PC games... and record them in the registry.

After of many trials/try, I noticed the access special setting by clicking with the right button on the optical drive for assets, the menu "registration", the parameters cannot be change and save/apply.

(eject the disc after burning master, temporary folder except location,...)

I found the solution, to keep the registry than the note above for deletion to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {...},

with "shell32.dll,-21815" and the relative path with "Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn."

only remove the "localizedname' and the 'attributes' and keep the rest.

Restart the PC, everything should be normal. Settings menu for registration in the optical drive capital can be adjust and apply / save, desktop.ini nomore see in the optical drive

everything is normal. everything should be good as another user account, DIFFICULTY TOTAL and RESOLVED

  • Burning folder then tap dvd

    Hello

I'm going into a complete mess burning my PE7 project to a folder (can not see even 'burn to the folder"option!) I need to comlpete this project today so can u please give me the steps I have to take. I look in the forums, but still no the wisest. I guess that's the video .ts files which I then burn to dvd in the folder.

    Help much appreciated.

Are you saying that when you select part/disk, you do not see the folder option in the menu drop-down DVD disc? That's where.

Once you have created your DVD files in a folder, you use just any DVD burning software to copy the VIDEO_ts folder and its contents to a disc.

As I said, méjan, almost all of your questions are answered in my books, if you're interested.

  • CD DVD player: can not read data DVD discs that burned same machine

Laptop with Windows Vista cannot read data DVD discs that burned same machine.  The discs work on another computer.  My laptop will read CD disks, he did, and it will play DVD movies. What's wrong?

    Hello

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD &)
Burn DVDs and CDs and read DVDs). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 parts to no function
while others are doing so correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner
    could help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always
    issue.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the outside edge
tolerances of the disks. They may be delivered, but it is usually cheaper to replace
    the reader.

    ===========================================

This troubleshooting might not help if there are problems of alignment and wear it
    is worth it.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then check the cables
both ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean the
power and data of the contacts with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the system manufacturer
and the manufacturer of the device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD &)

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    Hello Miss Roxane,

Thank you for your message.  You can look in Windows Live Movie Maker for free option to make a slide show and burn it to CD or DVD.  You also have the possibility of purchase of download/3rd party software that will do the job you're looking for.

Anything can be corrupted on your MacBook Pro, but from what you say, it seems that the cable drive/SSD/flash memory/SATA hard was seriously damaged. Him "question mark" means that your Mac is unable to find any bootable device, meaning that it does not yet detect your OS X drive.

You should make a backup of your files (if you can still do it) and take the Mac at the Apple Store or dealer to get a diagnosis. There may be several damaged parts.

  • Re: Can burn and DVD but no burn CD

I have the TS-L632H drive in my laptop which has a very strange problem, I can burn and read DVDs without problem, but I can't burn a CD. My operating system is Windows XP and I tried various burning (Nero, eBurn, CDburnerXP etc) software, all with the same result. The CD appears to burn and if I use "verify after burning option" he passed without reported errors. If I then eject the CD and the re - insert, it just won't recognise the CD! The drive light flashes just constantly as if she is looking and to any program I use tells me there is no disc inserted.

As stated I tried various applications, I also tried different firmwares for this model. I tried with the finalization of the disk and the options of multisessions, ISO, UDF. I am completely baffled by this, anyone have any ideas why it audit but then not read?

    Hello

Maybe you should remove the server - and lowerfilters in the registry. Whenever you install a CD/DVD related software, it installs filters in the registry and so it s the cause.

It s a known problem and more detailed information you can get on the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
