Dynamic hierarchy to ASO

Hi all

I'm trying to understand the ASO cubes. I have following the request.
In dynamic hierarchies, we can have formulas that can be referenced as members stored.
According to my understanding of the dynamic hierarchies are always calculated real-time retreival and the value of the formula is never stored.
If this is true then what is the meaning to classify a forumla in dynamic hierarchy as stored?

Thanks in advance

The hierarchy is dynamic and can contain members with or without formulas. For example, a scenario dimension can have
Scenario of
-Real
-Budget
-Variance (actual formula - Budget)

There are data stored both actual and Budget, but the Member that variance is calculated dynamically. If we expand the size a bit, so we have
Real
-System_Actuals
-Adjustments

The calculation of actual expenditures would be dynamic in addition to Variance

    Thank you

You need several hierarchies enabled. 2010 weekend Sam must be stored separate hierarchies.

BTW - it would be easier and I think on a higher functional level if you have used a dim attribute instead of an alt roll up, but your choice.

  • Formula in the primary account not to ASO dimension hierarchy

Is this in any way by which I can write a formula in a primary account not dimension hierarchy. I have tagged this member as allowing multiple hierarchies and I can't adjust primary hierarchy as dynamic to ASO. so I put it as stored and now I want to write a formula for one of the members. I'm not able to put the formula for stored dimension.

is there a workaround or can you please suggest me something that might work

    Thank you

You can have formulas in the dimensions (or hierarchies) marked as dynamic. If you have a dynamic hierarchy, you might substitute in there running sums.

  • Calculations of the rate of aggregation in essbase ASO SEEP cubes

The question (limitation to ASO) we tried to find a solution/workaround. ON PBCS (Cloud)

    Details of the application:

Application: type of ASO in cloud Oracle planning 11.1.2.3 (PBCS) application

Dimension : Total 8 dimensions. Account to the dynamic hierarchy. Remaining 7 dimensional hierarchies Stored value. Only 2 dimensions have about 5000 members and others are relatively small and flat hierarchies.

Description of the question of the requirement: We have a lot of calculations in the sketch that use amount = units * rates type of logic. The obligation is such that these calculation logic should apply only to the intersections of Level0 and then data resulted must roll up (down) to the respective parents across all dimensions. But when apply us this hierarchical logic / formula calculation to ASO, the logic(i.e.,amount=units*rate) of calculation is applied at all levels (not only the leaf level) of remaining dimensions. Here, rates are also numbers derived using the formula MDX.

Some of the options explored so far:
Option1: This is an expected behavior in ASO as all stored hierarcies are calculated first, then the dynamic hierarchies. So we tried to change the formula for each of the calculated members to explicitly summarize data at parent levels using algorithm as shown below.

    IF (Leaf Level combination)
    amount = units * rate

    Else / * for all levels parents * /.

Use the function sum adding up the amounts between the children of the current members of dimension1, dimension2 and so on.

    End

Result: Recovery works through the parents for a dimension. When the summary level members are selected in 2 or more dimensions, the recovery freezes.

Option2: Change the type of hierarchy to group all the dimensions to "Dynamic" so that they calc after account (i.e. after amount = units * rate runs at intersections Level0).

Result: Same as option 1. Although the aggregation works through one or 2 dimensions, it freezes when the summary level members are from many dimensions.

    Option3: ASO use custom Calc.
We created a custom calc by fixing the POV Level0 members of any size and with the amount of formul = units * rate.

Result: Calc never ends because the rate used is a dynamic calc with formula MDX (which is needed to roll forward rates for a specified period at all the following exercises).

If you could get any help on this, it would be a great help.

Your best bet is to use the allocation of the ASO, what difference does make. (one ton)

There are a few messages blog out there that can help you meet this goal. (including mine), the trick is to create a member calculated with a NONEMPTYMEMBER in the formula

Then it will be a member with an inside MDX formula

    NONEMPTYMEMBER units, rates

    Units * rates

Now, make a copy of data (allocation) of this member-to-Member stored.

  • ASO level 0 member Consolidation ownership issue

    Hello

I have a question in the codification of the ASO

I have a dimension in this format

    Entity
    -100
    ----------------100-10 (+)
    ----------------100-20 (~)
    ----------------100-30 (+)

    -200
    ----------------200-10 (+)
    ----------------200-20 (~)
    ----------------200-30 (+)

To provide "~" property of consolidation at a zero level member Aso, I need to implement the storage property parent as label only if I put in place as the label only it does not consolidate other children in this dimension. How should I deal with this issue

Current value of 100 is equal to zero, but it must be a value equal to the sum of 100-10 and 100-30.

What is the best way to achieve

    Thank you

You can do this in a hierarchy of stored. You can do if you do the dynamic hierarchy, but bringing potentially a loss of performance.

  • ASO retrieves inconsistent between Excel report and financial in the 9.3.1

    Hi all
I use basic ASO in the 9.3.1 in the 64-bit Sun Solaris 10 platform.

I found a problem in FR. Please any expert can help with this problem!

I have ASO database with 11 dimensions.
    -Month (time dimension)
    -Year (stored hierarchy)
    -fiscal (stored hierarchy)
    -The script (multiple hierarchy)
    -AmountType (stored hierarchy)
    -FT (stored hierarchy)
    -RC (stored hierarchy)
    -RN (account dimension)
    -WP (multiple hierarchy)
    -Report (dynamic hierarchy)
    -Express in (stored hierarchy)

We have the MDX formula in dimension of report that is placed in the financial status at end of report column.
However, for some columns/rows, we found that there is no data in the parent level but no data when I developed the dimension of the report. Or, there's data at the level of the child of the dimension of the report but no data to the level parent dimension of report.

When I check cross by Excel. I can extract the data correct at the parent level and child.
It seems that there is a problem between the financial report and Essbase EN cannot retrieve the data when I develop the column or row in HTML view.

All people find missing data / incompatible data in case of extension of lines/columns in financial report?

    Kind regards

    Hello

Have you had a glance to essbase patch to the latest version (9.3.1.3). I know there have been problems solved with perhaps MDX, it solves the problem that you are experiencing.
There are also some known problems, it is useful to check the Readme (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/esb_93130_readme.pdf)

for example MDX. When you use MDX, the Parent function does not have the value relative to all required members. The solution is to set an internal configuration option (2 FormulaOptLevel) to disable the optimization (retroreflective) [6589847 (8-648458764)]

However, because you see in excel and not in EN question can lay elsewhere, but it is always worth checking.
Also have you checked EN newspapers to see if errors are generated.

  • Change the size of compression to ASO will do my Calc MDX results change?

    Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays!

Change the size of compression to ASO will do my Calc MDX results change?

Our EAS reported this: our dimension of reduction measures to the switching times will be half of our data file size.  Has anyone turn their dimensions of compression?  What are the problems that you have experienced?

Thank you for the early Christmas present (with answers).

This is not a duplicate, but it's largely the same question that a dynamic dimension to ASO stored passing Will do my Calc MDX results change?

This is because the size of compression must be dynamic, so if you select a dimension that is currently stored in the size of the compression, it will be converted to dynamic.

If you change the size of the compression of an already dynamic dimension, it has certainly no effect.

  • Flip sign for non members at the level of zero in the Measures dimension

    Hi Essbase gurus,

I'm trying to convert dynamic hierarchy of measures hierarchy stored (account) to take advantage of the aggregation of the aso. This hierarchy has + and - bindings so I'll be converting all to + and assigning the UDA as FlipSign to load the data with - ve value in good standing of the load.

    lesson plan:

NET installs no. (value = 2)

    -> No. install reconnects (value = 5)

    -> No. install disconnects (value = 7)

    New contour

    NET installs no. (value = - 2)

    -> No. install reconnects (value = 5)

-> Not install disconnected (FlipSign UDA) responsible for value = - 7

I am facing challenge where I have no no member of level in this hierarchy needs to be presented in the form + for users of. How can I make Net No. installs even present as previous + 2?

You have until the tag all members you want sign flip, then create an extra dimension of 'View '.  It will contain only one stored, 'Enter' or 'Data' as it does not affect the size of your cube.  Then, you add a dynamic member with an MDX formula to return the sign of marked members.  Reorganize the dimension so that the 'flip sign' display the Member is the default if the user makes no selection, that is to say that the "sign flip" Member rolls up to the top.

You add a very small overhead of MDX, but it should be useful if you can do your accounts any dimension of a stored hierarchy.

  • Is there a way to test for the first call of a function?

    Hello

I created a function (using other functions I created) to generate a dynamic hierarchy tree menu based on parentID and itemID etc etc - I'm sure you are familiar with this concept. It works very well, and there is no problem.

However, I do all this build in a string, and then dumped on the page. Again, this works very well. However, because the function is called recursively, my class, the class = 'tree' repeat itself in each occurrence of the opening UL tag.

I want to only this class to be applied to the first UL, but because it is recursive, I don't know how to detect if the function is called for the first time or 5th time, etc.. I mean something like:

< cfif myFunction is called the first time >
    Add the class
    < cfelse >
    do not add the class
    < / cfif >

Please see my attached code. It is fully functional. Please don't worry that all the other functions do etc, they work very well, but I need a way or a variable to test against.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much
    Michael.

Yes, it's simple, you test the Boolean value and it will be true if it is
set to true for a recursion.

You can use the Applied OLAP outline for this extractor. You could also use Smart View or MDX, and then reformat the output manually.

  • Dynamically retrieve "rank" in the hierarchy to determine the next member to be inserted into the structure?

    Hello

I have a hierarchy with the structures of members following leaves:

Depending on which division they are ZEN-A, ZEN - B and C ZEN with 7 numbers after them.

Is there a way to dynamically retrieve the Member in the ZEN-A, ZEN-B and C ZEN in three separate properties so that the user DRG can determine the next member must be added?

For example, if I have a structure that looks like this:

    ZEN-A0000001
    ZEN-A0000002
    ZEN-A0000003
    ZEN-A0000004

    Hello

    How do you combine them?

    If something like this ParentABCD-AliasABCD
