    I created a different user manual for each module in Microsoft Word.I to store word documents in the database and need to open this document of the application user's manual. I want to add a help button in the toolbar of the application, so that I can keep the name of the file in the toolbar of the separate modules.

  • How to set the default database selection forms 11g

    Hello

    In the past (Forms 10g), we could define the default database by defining userid=@dbname in formsweb.cfg.

    We migrated to form 11g.
    When we set this setting, we have the message ORA-01017 invalid username but the dbname is located in the windows of connection.
    Unfortunately, it generates an error message.

    How can we set the default database 11g-shaped?

    Thanks in advance for your answer.

    If the intermediate platform is Windows LOCAL value the name of db in default.env forms. If the platform is Unix, set TWO_TASK on db name in the default.env. This is not pre-fill the db name field, but in this place, this field may be left blank. Otherwise, you must create your own custom logon dialog box.

    Example:

    LOCAL = dbname

    Or UNIX

    TWO_TASK = dbname

  • Form 10G - Saving Blob on server applications using Java.

    Hello

    Forms 10g using, I'm looking for a solution to retrieve the Blob from my database (10 gr 2) and save it to the application server on the "Oraclehome\Apache\Apache\htdocs" directory so that users can download/view it via the browser.
    first of all, I used WebUtil to download files on the client and it worked perfectly.
    However, for some reason, my client does not want to download the file on his client.

    So here I am, I've created a java class called "saveBlobToFile" that receives a string as a parameter to write it to a file.
    I imported this class in forms where I used the following code.
    Everything works fine, but I need to convert my RAW in HEX to move to Java string and converted again to a Byte [].
    I order to speed up the process, I would avoid these 2 conversions.
    Don't you think that it is possible to move the RAW format (which is just a stream of bytes) to java? Either by converting it to ORA_JAVA. JACOB byte? Either passing as an object and cast in java to a byte array?

    Thanks in advance,
    Tim.

    PS: I based my development on this article

    FIO = new FileOutputStream (fileName, true);
    FIO. Write (hexStringToByteArray (stringBuffer));
    FIO. Close();

    }

    public static ubyte [] hexStringToByteArray (String s) {}
    int len = s.length ();
    Byte [] = new ubyte data [len / 2];
    for (int i = 0; i < len; I += 2) {}
    data [I / 2] = (byte) ((Character.digit (s.charAt (i), 16) < < 4))
    + Character.digit (s.charAt(i+1), 16));
    }
    return data;
    }

    Public Shared Sub main (String [] args) {}
    saveBlobToFile saveBlobToFile = new saveBlobToFile();
    }
    }

    A very simple solution is to 'adjust' the WEBUTIL_FILETRANSFER package and create a new procedure DB_TO_AS by combining the existing DB_TO_CLIENT and procedure CLIENT_TO_AS (withou the intermediate step to save the file on the client)

  • Time of design and of the dynamically created controls

    I have a project written in VC6 as a project of the MFC dialog box. In a particular area, I dynamically create several (the exact number depends on user input) CNiGraphs. There is also a two CNiButtons that were created at design time using the resource editor. The problem I have is that when this dialog box is open, a message appears saying it is an eval version and the control will go off after 5 minutes. After 5 minutes of waiting, the CNiButtons 2 go inactive (black tower), but the continuous CNiGraphs of work. I have a valid license of MStudio 8.1.6, version but it seems that these 2 buttons do not recognize the license. There are also other buttons from the moment of conception of the project, but these have no problem at all. When you create the dynamic creation of the CNiGraphs, give them a valid license string, and I was wondering if there is a problem with the time created and dynamically controls created in the same dialog box to design. Anyone know?

    I don't remember, but I can have created these 2 CNiButtons when I was with only an eval license. (All others were undoubtedly create when I got a full license) Could have an impact on them? I have a vague memory of reading somewhere that DTC create controls to check the license when they are created in the designer and store that info in them license. If this is the case does anyone know an easy way to update the license stored in control? I rather not just delete it and Add again because I would avoid having to redo the tab order (unless someone knows how to easily insert something in the middle of the order of tab instead of having to click through all the controls in the correct order)?

    In addition, I don't know if this would affect anything, but the project was originally built with ComponentWorks 1.0, we were forced to move to MStudio when we met a few bugs in CW, so all controls were originally CW controls which have been converted into control of CNi. I doubt that this is so like everywhere else, we changed during controls is not a problem, but I'm ready to try the suggestions.

    Hi JC,.

    I hope you had a good weekend!  I'm glad to hear that you're back running.  Add the extra button was, in fact, causing update the licensing information for the other buttons, as you can imagine.  After further research, I found that the license information are stored only the form of the control, and if this control doesn't change in any way (or in your case, adding a new project), he sees no reason when compiling to recreate a link to the license.  However, after the change of control and a new, it updates the link between the license information, which solved this problem in your case.

    I hope this helps, JC.  Have a great day!

  • How to create a database by using Visual Basic 2013?

    Original title: I need a teaching aid

    I have been programming since the beginning of the 1980s as a hobby.  I want to create a database by using Visual Basic 2013 but I have difficulty finding the information as required to fit.

    When I was with VB6 I used a book: beginning Visual Database 6 database programming by John Connell

    This book taught me everything I needed to know.  He used control arrays (I understand are now mocked) to define the forms of "state machines" which I liked a lot.

    I could go back and reinstall VB6 but I would learn instead to perform all necessary steps in VB 2013.  Can anyone suggest a similar book?

    I used the COBOL, FORTRAN, VBA, VB6, Basica, etc..  But through it all to adapt to new versions has never been so difficult.  I believe that the adaptation will be difficult if I can find a book that explain the changes.

  • Migrating Forms 10g GR 11, 2 different host

    Hi all

    I'm Migrating Forms 10 g to 11 GR 2. I read a document for upgrading forms 10g to 11 GR 2, but there is no comment about the different host upgrade.

    Also, there is only one way for the upgrade. Who is using "upgrade wizard".

    Currently, here is my situation.

    1. I use forms 10g now on the server A.
    2. I installed 11 GR 2 forms on server B. It works well.
    3. There are a few files of forms compiled on ServerA.
    4. I want to migrate these forms and the configuration files in the server A to Server B.

    If I can't use "upgrade wizard", I just copy the configuration files two server (formsweb.cfg and default.env) and paste the B server configuration files. But I think that it is not good idea to migrate.

    Is there something else easy way and security for the upgrade.

    Please answer to me thanks!

    Let me start with the urgent comment: do NOT copy the configuration of earlier versions and drop them in the new environment. It's a bad idea for many reasons.  The most obvious is because new version has new settings and changes, some of which are required.

    I hope that, in your environment to version 10 you does not alter the [default] section of formsweb.cfg.  If this is the case, then you can easily copy your sections in the file of the new version.  However, before you do anything like that, make sure that you stop the Server Admin v11 and Managed Server (WLS_FORMS).  Don't try to do it with them running or your changes likely will have lost to ignored.  The default.env should be similar.  You can replace the one-for-one entries, but do not replace the entries found in the file.  Thus, for example, you can copy your old FORMS_PATH and drop it into the new file.  Comment out the existing and use your instead.  And so on.

    OK, we can all calm down now.

    The next thing to address is this statement "...". compiled form files on server A... ».  You can also copy forms of update modules / generated from one version to the other.  You need to rebuild 'X' (fmx, mmx, plx) of files in the new environment, using the new compiler.

    As for using the upgrade wizard, there are some limitations to use, needing to be on the same machine.  However, despite everything, my recommendation is that not use you it anyway.  In most cases, you will have more success and much easier to maintain the environment if you do things manually.  AU is especially useful when you have significant customizations and complex throughout the battery (SST, Web Cache, forms, reports, etc.).  For typical configuration changes, manually create the new that's going to be the way to go.  It will give you also a chance to clean by removing changes made previously which are no longer needed.

    Suggestion. DBCA allows to generate the database model and use the option "+ Save as scripts + ' (no need to create the database).

    In the scripts directory, there will be a couple of shell and SQL scripts to create the database. Use them as your CLI model for the creation of a custom database. (I guess that DBCA works the same on Windows as it does on Linux).

    Another option, if you are using Oracle XE, is to copy ORACLE_HOME/bin/createdb.sh (probably a + .cmd on Windows) script and change for use. If you manually add non-XE features to the script (such as the installation of the Java virtual machine) If you want a database of SE or EE. (whereby DBCA scripts are a better answer).

  • Oracle Forms 10g runtime error

    Hello
    I am new to Oracle forms. I created the form, compiled successfully. But when I ran the form its opening a Page Internet Explore but display not nothing on the page. After a while his shows an error "Internet Explorer has stopped working". It is happen every time when I run the form.

    Please suggest me how to run a form in the application form as well as in the Internet Explorer web page.

    Thanks in advance
    Kaddour

    Suresh,
    Which edition of Windows 7 32-bit (etc. Professional, Home, Home Premium)? If you use a home edition - good luck to do this work. The necessary minimum edition is the professional edition. Just any editions have all necessary components of networking needed.

    If you use a professional edition or higher, then there are a few preparations you must do to make it work. They are:
    1. you must install the application as an administrator.
    2. you "run" the application as an administrator. The best thing to do is to find the Oracle executable and then right-click and select Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab, and then click "Run this program as an administrator." Windows 7 automatically runs applications like 'Standard user' - even if you have the privilege of administrator assigned to your account. This is part of the feature Universal Account Control (UAC) in Windows 7.
    3. you must install and use a compatible Java Runtime (JRE) (JRE 1.6.0 - No 1.7.0). Oracle Forms 10 g Release 2 (version 10.1.2.x.x) defautls to the use of the Oracle Jinitiator. However, Jinitiator is no longer compatible with Windows 7 and modern browsers or supported. Keep in mind that Jinitiator was to IE 6 so you cannot expect this JRE to work with modern browsers.
    4. change the formsweb.cfg to use JRE 1.6.0. Change the following lines:

    #baseHTMLjinitiator=basejini.htm
    baseHTMLjinitiator=basejpi.htm
    #jpi_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0006-ABCDEFFEDCBA
    jpi_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-0034-ABCDEFFEDCBA
    #jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.4.2_06
    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.6.0_34

    5. Finally, in order to run a form from the forms Builder, you must start the OC4J container. To do this, go to start-all programs-online Oracle Developer Suite - online DevSuiteHome-Online Forms Developer => start an OC4J Instance.
    The OC4J Instance emulates an application server which is required for Forms 10g Runtime.

    The changes described above assumes that you have installed the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.6.0_34. If you have a lower version, make sure you change the "34" to the installed version.

    This is the minimum of changes necessary to make forms work on Windows 7 32 bit. It is strongly recommended that you apply the last group of patches (patches 3 Group) for forms bring your 10.1.2.0.0 version 10.1.2.3.0, but you will need a contract with Oracle support to obtain the fix.

    As for your question,

    One last thing, I've observed is the Oracle Services in the Control Panel control Panel\All Items\Administrative Tools\Services. I don't see any running services related to Oracle, in my system (do not even have a linked oracle service at this location).

    What other Oracle products you have installed? If just Oracle Forms, then you will have no service.

  • Database Access forms

    Hello, I'm totally new to forms and I'm learning to do my first programs. When I compile I realized I always put the user and the password of my user database even when I run with the control console.
    So my question is if still my form applications will connect to the database?, because if it is an application like a Notepad, calc, xclock or a system that works with flat files and don't need to connect to the database, so it is not present to connect to the database. So the forms run applications posible without the connection string of a given database.
    I really thank you.
    Concerning

    Oracle Forms is intended to create applications that access data from a database, unlike something like Microsoft Visual Basic, which can be used to build Windows (non-database) applications. However, even if it is not the intention of Oracle Forms, you can create applications that do not connect to a database. To do this, just create a trigger of form, WE LOGON level and add the NULL code;

    This will cause the logon to be bypassed.

    You have made a minor mistake.

    CLSID:CLSID:CAFEEFAC-0016-0033-FFFF-ABCDEFFEDCBA is not correct.

    Her take: either of the following:

    #Dynamic CLSID - runs with any installed JRE with Internet Explorer
    jpi_classid=clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93

    #Attempts to use any JRE in a specified family
    jpi_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-FFFF-ABCDEFFEDCBA

    #Static CLSID attempts to use a specified JRE or newer in the same major release.
    jpi_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-0033-ABCDEFFEDCBA

    For browsers other than IE, you must set the MIME type. Then choose them:

    #Forces the use of a specified JRE version
    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.6.0_33

    #Attempts to use any JRE in the specified family

    #Use any installed JRE

    I would like to create a database connection by using the individual database account(username/password). But all the tables/views/procedures fall under another scheme general/admin. Even though I created the connection, I couldn't see all the tables (individual schema have no table inside). Which means that I couldn't create objects of entity objects/view them. Is there a way/setting that will allow me to query other tables in the schema. As with the forms of the oracle, you can get your own and/or other tables, views.

    Or what is the correct way to do this?

    Have you checked that the other user has the privileges of law defined to access the tables for the admin user? She is sysnonyms defined?
