e learning for the great change of scale system

Our next project is training for an upgrade of the vast system of large-scale company. Our users are very dependent on the software that will be replaced and several departments will learn their new job. Any suggestions on how to use e-Learning in order to enhance the understanding of the new software?

I worked on a number of large-scale IT change projects for international clients. I can make a few suggestions, some associated with Captivate, some e-Learning more generals linked.

On projects like this, I tend to produce three types of training: face-to-face, interactive simulations/tutorials & quick reference card. Ideally all three are planned together, allowing you to create a unique instructional design plan. You want people to be entered into the system, learning to be reinforced, and then everyone to be taken in charge.

Face to face training usually contains a lot of show and tell, where users are shown how to perform tasks and then get themselves doing. Ideally a number of small tasks included and repeated, so they are all brought together by getting the learners to follow realistic scenarios that need all the discrete tasks to accomplish together. I find that a lot of training is not integrate deeply with real jobs of the people and of world using real scenarios helps improve performance and restraint. I did materials where parts of carriage have been pre-recorded, what you can do with Captivate.

Interactive tutorials are usually used as material follow-up to face-to-face modules, allowing learners to go through simulations with guidance when they do something unexpected, well that sometimes there is no face-to-face training and interactive tutorials provide all teaching. These sometimes include sections which simply display to users and ask questions later. Sometimes, they become very complex branching scenarios. Usually, I build all in Captivate, although I find quite buggy and frustrating at times.

Finally, I build small reminder. They are very specific and see the how a well defined work, such as an existing customer address changes. Sometimes Captivate movies, sometimes they are PDFs, they are often implemented as both. They can be embedded and/or linked from the help screens and the FAQ, as well as used in responses from support and further training of the emails. The films tend to be short and sweet: length of 30 to 120 seconds.

In an ideal world, the number of working tools is growing rapidly after the implementation in response to requests for support from users, even if in reality I often anticipate what users will find it difficult and create all these prerequisites for the launch.

If you are going to use Captivate to your project, then I suggest that you test, test and test again before accepting that you will send. It's a little a lot of software, in theory, but it is quite buggy. I'm working on a project with CP6.1 and I have a lot of audio sync problems and video corruption problems publish my last work for less than the MP4 videos.

In terms of effort, my golden rule is 20%, planning, design of 60% and the scripts and implementation of 20%.

    (3) if I get the SAN storage for data... How can I save this storage... should I get another SAN?

    (4) how can I upgrade SBS stad single server (windows standrad) without losing the licenses as Exch 2007, SQL 2005, sharepoint.is it a must to buy an edition full std server or there is a way to upgrade (license wise, I mean)?

    (5) what about win2k8 license for VM:

    lets say we have physical that has windows license so that enough to have windows for VM or should I buy windows for VM licenses?

    (6) can I use backExec license for SBS with windows 2008 standard

    (7) who better to virtualization AMD or INTEL

    (8) hyper V or VMware?

    (9) what of Microsoft data protection Manager... is this good?

    (10) what virtual machine manager? What are the benefites keys

  • Except for the color change of the Web of gifs

    I'm trying to 'save for web' a gif, and I get a change of color each time. I changed my color settings so that it is set to RGB monitor and it is extracted under test format as well. On the Save for Web window, making sure that "Convert to sRGB" is checked as well.

    Despite all this, the color change always happens. Here is a screenshot of my color settings:

    Saving as a gif you are inevitably reduce your color up to 256 colors gamet and so according to your original image you can result in a change of color simply by there. You must however not use your display profile in your color settings. If you want to put something on the web or in an application that is not color has managed the best choice is sRGB. Try these settings.

    Looking to define this "changed flag" that if a particular attribute is changed? When you change one of the attribute on the line, the entityState object changes automatically (as you have already paid the true autoSubmit). So, you don't have to check for isAttributeChanged for each of the attributes in the line.

  • InDesign CS4 does not display the icon in the shape of triangle for the images changed into links

    My InDesign crashed the other day and now it gives me is no longer the yellow triangle icon in the links Panel to indicate that image has been changed and must be updated. I generally do not connect the image to the original through Indesign, but work independently in Photoshop. This has never been a problem. After that I updated the image in PS, the triangle appears instantly in ID in order to be able to click on it and update the image.

    I can always click on the Refresh button to update the image, but I wish that these rear indicators because it helps me with older documents - so that I can know what are the images really need to update and which are not.

    Based on the permissions granted to the user, it will have access to it. If user is to have total control, then it may have change dashboard, else if the user read only access to the dashboard while he can't have the dashboard option change.

    I'm doing the extra change to post-secondary studies after my settings in Lightroom.  I know I have to go to Photo-> Edit in and the PSE option should be highlighted, but it is not.  I went to Lightroom-> Preferences-> external editing and it does not appear.  It says "Edit in Adobe Photoshop (not found), but I have PSE not PS.»  I launched PSE in the hope that the problem, but it wasn't.

    How can I solve this problem?  I'm new to Lightroom, working with the evaluation version while my version full of ships and should be here tomorrow. I bought the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Kelby book, but it is not the problem.

    There is no one answer for this, as this varies considerably.
