E3000 has low-speed Ethernet but ok speed wireless Internet

My Cisco E3000 slowed its Ethernet speed so slow that it times out when you go on Facebook, YouTube or any site that is complex. It worked fine until one day he just give up. It is connected to the DSL Modem with Ethernet to an Apple Mac G5 power PC there are two other former Mac connected via Ethernet, same problem. When I took the router off the chain and G5 directly connected to the modem, internet speed. My firmware is updated. The two bands wireless work very well. When I look at Cisco Connect, everything seems normal. factory settings. I worked a lot so something has changed. Help me, my children are revolting.

Thanks for all help. Nothing has worked.

On a live chat, the agent of Linksys gave me some valuable tips. two options actually.

One} buy a new router to a 10% duscount or B} pay for a bore of premium support.

I decided to launch this router on the sidewalk and go with the Apple of Base Station.

I am a Mac guy since 87, what I was thinking of buying it? It was less expensive.

I have a Dell Studio XPS 1640 and my wireless adapter is "Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-card that can support 802.11 b/g. recently my ISP gave me 50 Mbps internet high speed and I use the series router (Netgear WNR2000) N that supported up to 300 Mbit/s internet speed by Wifi, but when I use the Wifi on my laptop speed is 22 Mbit/s and when I plugged the cable directly on my network card that he brought to 53 Mbps internet high speed. • Error 651 ethernet but ok when wireless

I bought an ASUS laptop 8 months ago with Windows 7 installed. It was working fine when connected by ethernet to a router, just recently (maybe a month ago), that I turned on my laptop and it showed that it was not connected. So, I restarted and still the problem. I went through a trouble shooting process to shut down the computer and disconnect the cable from the computer is off the router for a few minutes then plugged everything and checked, still does not work. So, I decided to use a netbook, I had to check that maybe it was the cable, it was not. I plugged the modem with the ASUS, and it did not work. So, now that I knew that it was something to do with the computer, I started studying why. I noticed that I didn't have a "connection to the local network' just a"manage wireless networks", 'change the map settings' and change advanced sharing settings. So, I tried maybe set up a new connection to the router with the ethernet and every time I tried to set up a new network to the router, I got a message "error 651". I was confused, so I searched through my wifi online - since I've always had the wifi - and I continued to get something on exchanging information with Vista drivers driver but why would I want to change a new operating system with an old driver? I don't know why I do not have a 'Connection to the local network' tab or even connect to the ethernet connection? Same connection when I use Linux, it connects via ethernet. Anyone can shed some light on my problem? If you want more info I can try to give it do you. I went into Device Manager, but I still can't find a local connection tab. I know usually automatic Windows to connect to the device its connected to.

    Hi JoeJ1986,

    • Did you try to run the troubleshooter and to uninstall and reinstall the network card using the steps above?

Connection to the local network should be present even if its connected through wireless. However, try to uninstall the network adapter, and then reinstall it and check if it works.

Alternatively, you can try to check if the network connection and the list of network services are started and set to automatic. To do this follow the steps below:

    1. Click Start.
    2. In the start search box type services.msc and press enter
    3. In the services window, do scroll down to the network connection.
    4. Right-click on it and click Properties.
    5. Check if the startup type is set to automatic, otherwise it is set to automatic.
    6. Click the Start button, this will start network connection services.
    7. Click on apply and Ok.

Repeat this procedure for the network list service and check that it helps.

I hope this helps. Let us know the result.

  • Satellite P100 GPU fan turns costantly at low speed?

Finally something strange happened on my laptop and I wonder if even happened to other users of P100 series laptop. All of the sudden GPU fan began to operate at low speed all the time. Before he reached 60 ° C and then had shrapnel short until it cooled down to 50 ° C and the order. But now it runs at very low speeds and temperatures are around 48 C. It is not noticeable and I'm very happy with what (it should be like that from the start).

Now I wonder what could have triggered that. Do you have bios that has changed (I have the latest 2.40). At the beginning when I changed the computer bios worked as before, but then at some point I changed muffler in performance mode and since that day, the GPU fan runs constantly. I tried to change it to silent mode, but the GPU fan runs all the time. My laptop is P100-115 (Geforce 7600)

    Hello

Looks like you re a happy with the use of the fan.
I think that the new BIOS has been changed and that's why he has better influence on the performance of cooling module and so it works at very low speed. I think it is much better than the rotation of the fan restless.

As you have already mentioned the Toshiba power saver controls the speed of the CPU and cooling method. If these settings could affect the cooling of laptop.
But believe me; It of much better to have the constant low temperature and fans completely.

I m in the same room as the wireless router if the signal is excellent...
I've tweaked on with the settings in the network adapter settings...
I got it to 130Mbps... for about 10 seconds before it dropped back down to 65Mbps...

  • Low speed on Wireless N

I'm trying to implement a DV6 on Wireless N. I have a Linksys WRT160N router and get speeds up to 120mbps on a desktop wireless located near 100 feet from the router. I can not get over 54 Mbps on the laptop, even within 10 feet. I checked the properties of the device and verified that the width of the channel is set to AUTO and 802.11n Mode is ENABLED. I noticed the rest of my system below specs. Any help would be appreciated.

    LAPTOP MODEL: HP DV6

    Operating systems: Windows 7 (64-bit)

    RAM: 4 GB

WiFi ADAPTER: Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN

    PILOT: 13.0.0.107

    ROUTER: Linksys WRT160N

    FIRMWARE: 3.0.02

After much research, I believe I have solved the problems with the Wireless N of low speeds, especially with Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN configurations. Here's what I could learn from Intel support forums.

"The IEEE * 802.11n draft prohibits using high throughput with WEP or TKIP as the unicast encryption algorithm." If you use these methods of encryption (WEP, WPA-TKIP), your rate will be reduced to 54 Mbit / s. Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350, Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5150, Intel® WiFi Link 5300, Intel® WiFi Link 5100, Intel® WiFi Link 1000, and Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN client drivers connect using a legacy IEEE 802.11 g connection rather than failing to connect altogether which complies with the IEEE 802.11n draft standard. "This means that you must use a connection Wi - Fi Protected Access * (WPA2-AES or WPA2-TKIP).

I have reset the wireless security on my router to use WPA2-AES, reconfigured my laptop for the same security settings and options was immediately connected to more than 200 Mbit/s.

I can't get decent speed when I'm in the same room as the router.

When we arrived first the router I got the right speed, but it deteriorated recently.

    So far, I tried the following command to improve things;

    -System restore

    -Router reset

    -Repositioning of the router

    -Virus scans etc.

-Diagnostics of Windows Internet - apparently working normally

If anyone has any suggestions of anu on what could be wrong and how to fix it, I would be very grateful

    Thank you

    Hello Paul,

See the Microsoft article and look at step 6: "Change your wireless channel"
You will need to connect to your router and change the wireless channel that it operates on.
There may be interference affecting your computer, but not your wife.
If you need assistance to change the settings of the router, you will need to contact your router manufacturer or your internet service provider.
  • limit the speed of Internet on Simulator

    Hello

Can limit us the speed of the internet to the Simulator?

I want to test my application in a situation close to reality (especially the "loading screen"). And with my LOCS, I do not see my message "Please wait" :-)

I not found any related post, or the command line option.

    Thanks in advance,

    Christophe

PS: I don't know the State/quality virtual GPRS network, but effective the Simulator internet speed.

You can simulate a low network coverage by clicking the simulation menu and selecting network properties.

There is no support for limiting the connection (speed).

  • As microsoft some tools to speed up internet

As microsoft some tools to speed up internet

There are various factors that influence the speed of the internet:

    1. speed provided by the ISP or Internet service provider.

    2. the type of transmission channel used.

    3. the speed supported by the modem.

    4. the speed supported by the port ethernet (wired) or wireless card/WWAN (wireless) network card.

    5. the applications running background using internet bandwidth.

    1. If you find that the internet high speed is more low PSI plan, you can check your internet website like http://www.att.com/speedtest/ speed (you can Google/Bing for more information). If the speed provided by the tester, thus matches the ISP, you should check with the hardware of the internet (or modem).

    2. If the transmission is telephone wire, chances are that there may be noise in the channel, causing disturbances in the bandwidth. If the transmission channel is fiber line, the channel is noiseless and the speed is maximum.

    3. most of the modems available today are capable of supporting speeds more than what today to provide ISPS. If you use a modem that is old, you may change the modem, and then check.

4 once again, here, always the fastest cable connection, so there will be no problems here. Come to differs from the speed wireless technology, for example, 4 G is fster 3 G in the case of WWAN and 802.11ac is faster than the 802.11n, which is faster than in the case of WLAN 802.11a/b/g.

5 applications such as Windows Update or any other download being eats internet bandwidth speed and so down.

Microsoft isn't any tool to boost performance beyond these factors.

    Hello

A message in the small window that says connected wireless does not mean that you really have a valid functional connection.

Linking the means of router you can enter the IP base of the router in an address bar in one go, being able to connect, see and configure the router menus (extended to the wireless router manual should explain how to do).

If it will not connect to your wireless router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.

If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .
