  • Two questions on MapField (GPS permissions) and the map display

    Hello world

    I have two questions about the use of the Mapfield (for OS 5.0):

    First of all, it is possible to invoke the Permission of GPS is fast at the start of the application rather than the first time, you open the card and use the GPS?

    Second, I use a MapField in my application, and the map that appears on the device is only to show a green background with diagonal black lines and circles white - as if there were no card information to show. I tried to load many different places, and I get the same result. On the Simulator, I get the most actual plan information.  Does anyone know why this might be happening?

    Thank you!

    regarding your first question:

    use an applicationpermissionsrequest for that object.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones has the question about GPS

    I have a BB 8800 device. It is connected to a mobile phone service provider that does not support BES or BIS. In other words, I use this device as a mobile phone.

    When I open Options-> Advanced Options-GPS and run the menu: "Refresh" GPS "didn't get no information from GPS (inside and outside).

    There are zeros in Latitude and Longitude.

    My question is: the GPS on BB8800 depends on mobile provider and my data plan?

    I understand that to display the cards that I have at least GPRS-internet service enabled to access and download blackberry maps.

    But I don't get any results when I simply run the GPS Options and launch refresh GPS info.

    Could you please explain. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

    Thank you.

    I don't know if the GPS works at all the or not depends on whether the carrier allows him. But even if they do, it can be quite risky. I have Verizon in the United States and subscribe to the GPS service. I think it's pretty good - when it works. The biggest problem is that every four or five days about it does connect to GPS in the service of Verizon GPS signals, nothing else that the error messages "can not connect", and I do the reset drill "remove the battery and let it sit for a very long time" in order to resume service. Oddly, it's going to walk very well on Google Maps in this condition, but not on the traditional GPS. Would like to know the cause, since it seems that I am still an urgent need for GPS when he chooses to do not. Four or five days everything works well, then I'm in a strange city and the need to go from the airport to the hotel - and it won't work, so I find myself in some of Mall parking lot looking at my phone and the battery if displayed on the seat next to me, waiting for some kind of magic back to happen. The good news is that the reset still seem to work. The bad news is that I thought there is no alternative to lose 20 minutes to get a good discount to zero. I'm probably two resets far from cancelling the GPS service, it's just unpredictable as to when it's going to fail. Google Maps is not really very accurate in showing you where you are, but it has its uses. We are house hunting and I find that using Google Maps, while we are looking at a beautiful House we prevented them from making a few mistakes - found some really nasty industrial plants just across a line of trees, for example. I also use it to find restaurants that are pretty close to my hotel (so the total precision is not serious) of the Decree.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones [BB8800] GPS Simple question

    Hello

    I recently got a used BB8800 to a family member that I have a more recent version. I can't get a subscription (at resonable price) where I live who will support the internet features of it, if im just using it as a cell/text message device.

    My question, the build in GPS requires a subscription to work? I can't find the satellites at any time. Otherwise, my device may be broken or I don't know...

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi and welcome to the forums!

    It should be a plan of GPS data. I'm sorry.

    For future reference allow GPS, click options > advanced options > GPS services place on > location active caregiver.

  • Lightroom 4 GPS / country Code questions

    1. If you import an image with GPS data, Lightroom 4 will add the appropriate values for the secondary, city, State/Province, country and country Code.  Is it possible to add this data to existing files while retaining history?

    You can write metadata to the files ([Ctrl] [S]), delete these files from Lightroom and then synchronize a file to re-import them.  With all the changed settings but without their history re-imports.  Is there another way that keeps the story?

    2 is a link to the google map available for a GPS to a photograph?

    In Lightroom 3, you can click on the GPS location and that you access a Google map with a web link specific page that you could then publish, for example on a blog.  You can copy and paste the GPS location on a Google map page, but it does not give you a web link that you can use.

    3 is there a way to publish a map?

    Is there (or will there be) any way to export a map page, say to JPEG?

    Is it possible to take a screenshot of a map page and publish, for example in a blog?

    1. There is no way to save the history in the file.

    2. Yes, hold down the Alt/Option key when you click on the GPS field in the card module.

    3A. isn't that I know, and I was expecting such a feature have been documented if possible.

    3B. at the present time, is not what power or power does not happen in the future.

    Good question 3(c). It's actually what Adobe, the authors of the book, the bloggers, reviewers have in fact already since beta Lr4 came and for long before avery that.

    But still I could not find the necessary driver/software.

    According to the specifications of the laptop this model has 3G and comes with Windows Vista 32 bit.
    I believe you that you have used the 3G with original OS because it contains Ericsson 3 G driver and Toshiba 3 G RF Control Utility.

    You will find download page to download both of them for Win7 on Toshiba?

  • Street and trail GPS travel questions

    I just started a 60 day trial of streets and travel 2011.  I have difficulties clear GPS track. If this is not possible, can I select the track and change the color or the size of the line?  I use the 2007 version and am able to erase or change colors and size.  I was surprised when 2011 wouldn't let me do that.

  • GPS position updated connected question

    Dear,

    I now try to get my current location

    According to instrucations here:

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/Cascades/documentation/device_platform/location/retrieving.html

    and my post here

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Cascades-development/GPS-issue/m-p/2483917#M27417

    I've solved the problem and the code works without error,

    But when I call

    bool positionUpdatedConnected = connect(src,
                SIGNAL(positionUpdated(const QGeoPositionInfo &)), this,
                SLOT(positionUpdated(const QGeoPositionInfo &)));

    I had

    positionUpdatedConnected  = false

    Can someone help me why this result?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    As Zmey pointed out in your other post, you must modify the declaration of your location of positionUpdated() in your GPs.h file. You must rework so that you do not need to specify the QtMobilitySubset namespace (as in your cpp file):

    private Q_SLOTS:
        // This slot is invoked whenever new location information are retrieved
        void positionUpdated(const QGeoPositionInfo &pos);

    To do this, put a using statement in your GPs.h file, which unfortunately is not always desirable. You could put

    using namespace QtMobilitySubset;

    But if you're worried about having "using" in your header file, you can limit the scope of what you need if you put

    using ::QtMobilitySubset::QGeoPositionInfo;

    These changes are necessary due to the nature of the connect() method. In my view, than it does not much more than the chain by comparing the quantities in SIGNAL() and SLOT() macros. The method parameters must match each other and how the methods are declared in their respective headers.

  • Question of blackBerry Smartphones with GPS in 9700 after the OS 6 upgrade

    I just upgraded my os in Bold 9700 OS 6. After the update the GPS in the phone is idle and there is no way I can activate it.

    From your home screen, go to Options > device > device and state information.  Type the word 'test' without the quotes.  There is no field in which to enter and nothing is displayed on your screen.  Just type in it.  Click OK to start the test, press the menu key and select start.  Then decide if you want to be guided by the test.  On the next screen, check the box next to GPS and click run at the bottom.  Go outside and do the test and let us know what happens.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones GPS 'search for satellites... ". "questions about T - Mobile BB Curve 8900

    My wife and I had our 8900 s for 6 months.  All this time, the GPS worked so sporadically (works maybe 5% of the time) that we have renounced them.  I read all the posts on almost all forums, including this one.  I was on the phone with T-mobile for more than 2 hours - almost an hour of going out on my patio in 105 degree heat!  After going on all of the possible settings and reboot several times, the girl has finished telling me that it must be because the trees in my yard blocked the signal.  His only suggestion - call RIM.  What have I learned?

    1. I can't use my GPS inside to plan a trip. (roof and walls block signal)

    2. I can't use my GPS in the van to get to a place. (signal blocks of metal body)

    3. I can't use my GPS in a city to find an address. (buildings of great height-block signal)

    4. I can't use my GPS in the mountains to keep from getting lost. (trees and mountains block signal)

    5. If I am in the open field, GPS find signal about 5% of the time.

    6. I can't find the phone support for us peons.

    My brother, daughter, nephew, and everyone - make sure everyone - who has one phone other than a 8900 can get a signal just beside session from me.  My phone: 'search for satellites... ". »

    If a person tells me that I must be "outdoor" to use my GPS, I'm their Butterfly!  However, if you have a constructive suggestion, I'm all ears.  And before ask you, I have a data plan unlimited, and I tried with location helping the Endabled and people with disabilities.

  • GPS module question

    I am interested in the mini notebooks with GPS module - I would use the netbook instead of my current GPS (one less thing to carry on a trip), but there is limited info on exactly what this integrated module GPS can/cannot do.

    First, HP Navigator software, it's a service to purchase a monthly subscription to?   I found this on the HP website: "the Navigation is free for a trial period of 30 days and requires paid activation after the trial" what?

    Secondly, this navigator software provide the voice directions 'synthesis' or provide audio or is it simply Visual?

    Thanks for all those who respond

    McHP,

    Navigation in the browser of HP is free for a trial period of 30 days and requires paid activation after the trial. I am not sure the speech synthesis.   Marketing of information is here:

    http://h71036.WWW7.HP.com/HHO/us/en/pclc/articles/navigation-mapping-software.html

    The GPS module will be working with other navigation software.

  • The GPS metadata - please help with some basic questions

    I have a GPS (from GiSTEQ) encoder which I use to collect location data. I use GeoSetter to encode the image files. I have a set of jpg of my camera that I've already imported into LR 3 (under Win7 64-bit). After importing, I loaded GPS data using GeoSetter and collected the device GPS data. I know, I should have updated the jpg files before import.

    * Now that the jpg files are there, I can't figure out how to make visible the GPS metadata. I tried to update the metadata of the file and looked at various metadata views of the Panel in the library, including "EXIF and IPTC" module (my default), 'Place', "Default" and "All plug-in metadata", but nothing seems to resemble GPS fields. What I am doing wrong?

    * How can I easily I updated all jpg files of this collection to include their GPS data and not lose the metadata, develop settings, etc I already applied for in LR?

    * I usually shoot RAW - what I would do differently if I had coded the location of RAW files is coded import before or after?

    Thank you!

    Dilip

    I run Geosetter and LR but only with RAW files, but I'm guessing that the same steps are necessary for JPEG files.

    1 open Geosetter and open the folder containing the images

    2. synchronize images with the GPS log file - check Geosetter finds a match for the images.

    3. get location data

    4. save results - Geosetter should prompt you if you leave without it.

    5. in LR select images and metadata for files read - this will import data from co - ADR and the location of the GPS from the image or sidecar file.

    If an image is a not all GPS areas data do not show in LR so it seems that your images do not have the data.  You can check by opening Geosetter and looking at a picture in the list of files - it will show GPS data

    I hope this helps.
