e7240 & docking station resolution problem

I have my e7240 connected to a PR03X docking station.  My screen (Samsung U28D590) has a recommended resolution of 3840 X 2160, but when I am connected to the via Display Port, then the maximum available resolution is 2560 x 1440.

I have the latest drivers installed Intel.  Any ideas why I can't get the full resolution.

Hi, I have the same laptop and I have some disappointing news - Intel's HD4400 cannot handle 4K of the HDMI 1.4 port or DP 1.2. This is set out on page care Intel for processor, whether it is the ultrabook i5 or i7 series. Dell it has capped at QHD I think on the software side, although the integrated graphic card should be able to get out a maximum of 3200x2000@60Hz.

I hope this helps.

I am trying to connect a MacBook Air to another monitor via a Kensington docking station, but they do not communicate. The additional monitor is sent immediately to sleep. If I connect Air to the monitor directly everything works fine, but I want to simplify my life with the docking station. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I understood the question. It seems that the original DisplayLink software I was using was not correct. After connecting with Kensington, they gave me info on a new beta driver and it works fine.

  • U3415W, coming Pro 11, docking station, connection problems

    Hello

I held my 11 and dock works well with an old VGA Dell monitor connected with a converter. I received my pretty curved bright yesterday plugged U3415W computer screen while via HDMI and the screen shows no DP connection despite the place recognizing the U3415W is there.

I was on the support forums and downloaded all the latest drivers and bios updates, but this still does not work. I even tried plugging the place directly to the monitor and it does not work either where it points to a fault with the dock- but it was working fine yesterday morning with the old monitor.

Please HELP before I have a nervous breakdown watching this magnificent display of (empty)!

If you connect to the U3415W through its # HDMI 3 port =

You must open the OSD (On Screen Display) U3415W, choose the input Source, check the HDMI.

  • Android tablet with docking station: table of the emoticons are not more

Skype for Android: since the last updated version, I can't view the emoticons for IM table. I use an Asus Android tablet placed on a docking station (external keyboard). When I click on the smiley face in the message new message, nothing happens. When I "right click" on the same smiley, it replaces a keyboard symbol. But no emoticon upward shwing.

When I disconnect the Tablet from its docking station, no problem, it behaves as it should.

Could you please solve this problem with the use of the docking station (external physical keyboard)?

    Thanks a lot beforehand.

I did the same thing, and it works for me too!

Thank you very much Alexnik! Great customer service.

  • Tecra A10 - change of resolution with Docking Station problem

    Hello

I own a Tecra A10 - 14Q and I like it a lot - it is a very beautiful piece of hardware, including the functionality of UMTS.

When the Tecra is moored to the dock Express, and the external monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 22 "with resolution 1600 * 1200) is on defining the Office to be cloned on both screens, passes resolution of 1280 * 800 on the Tecra to 800 * 600 as"best resolution.

I tried Intel and Mobility Center graphics settings, but I can't find a way to set I want to keep the resolution 1280 * 800.

Suspicion to do so automatically is welcome. I found that a program that now lies on my desk that I run so it redefines the resolution to 1280 * 800, but I would like to stress that resolution remains just that it is.

    Kind regards

    YaGru

    Hello

It's not easy to say why the resolution automatically decreases

But sometimes, if the external monitor would be connected to the Tecra A10 directly without using the Express Docking Station?

Otherwise the problem could be linked to the dock Express (Replicator of port express?)

Maybe the 1600 * 1200 resolution on external monitor is too high for the express port replicator and so there are some questions which s my personal suggestion

  • Portege M200 - weird display with docking station problem

    Hello

I use a Portege M200 with MS Windows Vista and the Toshiba docking station. Whenever I connected the system closed down it will start with low light and different screen resolution. The brightness can then be adjusted in Vista.

To solve the problem, I have to disconnect it, then put it in PC Mode and finally stop Vista. With the next offline boot, it works correctly and can be re-docked. Maybe it's just a lack of understanding of the system? It seems that with a rooted boot, nVidia somehow takes place or is there different profiles?

    Thank you!

    Alexander

    Hello

At first, I must say that Portege M200 is old enough laptop model and I really wonder that Toshiba supports this model of laptop for Windows Vista. You are really lucky in this regard.

In any case very important is info which edition of WXP Tablet Toshiba offered tools for/disconnect. If I remember well, it was utilitarian Toshiba Mobile Extension. Using this tool you has been able to use different settings for Bay service as well as for output screen to choose the correct resolution.

Under Vista it is controlled by Vista and, AFAIK, Toshiba does not have any special utility for this. You must also understand that procedure/disconnect (power switching power supply) is controlled by Vista and I can imagine that under Vista it does not work perfectly.

My opinion is that there is not much to do, but I hope I'm wrong on this issue. Let's see what else users of forum about this.

  • X 1 carbon output problem with Onelink docking station

    Hello

I have a problem with the Thinkpad X carbon 1 in which I can get resolution of 1920 x 1080 on my external monitor (capable of 2560 x 1440), when connected via HDMI using among Dock port but when I connect via direct X carbon 1 display port, I can get the full resolution I want. I've updated the firmware of the docking station Onelink and the pilot video X 1 carbon, what can I do else? Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

On OneLink port hdmi port is hdmi 1.3 only, so it doesn't support resolution qhd. You should get the dock pro OneLink with its integrated displayport.

  • Tecra M9-104 with docking station - DVI resolution

I wonder if anyone can help. I have a Tecra M9 - 104 running Windows XP. I also have the docking station to go with it. The great thing about the docking station, it's that it can out to two screens as the port on my M5 Replicator could not do.

I bought two identical external screens that have a native resolution of 1440 x 900. I went into the Nvidia display configuration and set up to display both (one is plugged in VGA and one DVI port). However, the display on the DVI monitor is wrong. After further investigation I woke up the menu of the monitor on the screen to see that the resolution actually be issued is 1280 X 1024, despite Nvidia screen saying 1440 x 900 has been the output. Whatever I do, I can't increase the resolution on DVI port.

The only thing I could find on Google and these support forums is that the maximum resolution on the DVI port on a port replicator is 1280 x 1024, but it was for the M1 and M2 series. This laptop is the last series and as such, I expected that the spec had been updated at this time.

    Someone at - it ideas?

Could be due to a limitation of the video driver on the laptop, or you can try to download a utility that requires to use a different resolution, its called Powerstrip (do not have a download link sorry).

Be careful with it though, you can mess up your video driver

  • Satellite Pro L670 - 11 d and Dynadock U10 problem re-docking station

This my first post on this forum - I hope I have the right category.

We have a user with a Satellite Pro L670 - 11 d attached to a port replicator Dynadock U10 USB.

Everything seems fine, except when press us the disconnect button (or select eject Dock) the laptop leaves the great.
However when we try to anchor (for example after a meeting of bureau) it does not recognize the usb connection and docking station won't. We usually have to restart at this point. We are attentive to reconnect to the same usb port.

Has anyone seen this problem and know a fix?

    Thank you

    David

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem only under this Dynadock U10 or perhaps with the external USB HDD too?
In my opinion, it sounds a bit like the issue of the BONE and not like the Dynadock question.

I would recommend this control by using a USB HDD.
Connect the USB HDD to the USB port as well.
Then, disconnect the USB HDD and unplug the laptop HARD drive. Reconnect the HARD drive and check if the HARD drive would be connected again.
If the same thing would happen with HARD drive, you should check the USB port
Maybe the chipset driver will need to be updated

But if the HARD drive is raccorderaient ok and if the question does not seem to be using the HARD drive, then, it would be necessary to check the Dynadock maybe reinstall the Dynadock from the software again.

  • Problem Audio Line Out HP Docking Station A7E36AA #ABB

    Hello

    I have the Elitebook 8570p (Win7 Pro x 64) and the Docking Station A7E36AA # ABB

I plugged my speakers with audio line out of the docking station, but the sounds of music 'flat', without no bass.

I tried the same speakers with the line out of the elitebook directly and it works.

I thought that the reason for this is the docking station.

Yesterday I got from the docking i11X REPLACEMENT, plugged my speakers with its audio line out and got the same failure: his flat without bass.

Same again: directly after my elitebook, all works.

I reinstalled the audio driver from the hp supportpage

  • I have a problem with the USB3 Kensington docking station.

    Original title: Kensington USB3 Dock

This device worked perfectly until today when the audio and LAN work ceased. Device Manager shows no drivers for these 2 items. The display works fine, USB ports very well.

Tried to search manually and automatically for drivers, but nothing helped.

    Hi Mike,.

Have you tried the steps suggested in the previous post?

After you complete the steps suggested, if the problem persists always answer here. And we will help you further. We at Microsoft tender towards excellence.

    Hello

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I did everything above and nothing helped at all. Ethernet and Audio via the docking station USB 3.0 still does not work.
Then I found the updated driver from the supplier of chipset used in the dock of Kensington (Displaylink) here:
    http://www.DisplayLink.com/support/SLA.php?fileID=95 - it's called DisplayLink USB graphics for Windows software version 7.3 M1 dated July 12, 2013.
I had already tried the versions 7.2 M1 (as dated May 10, 2013) and 7,2 M0 (dated April 3, 2013), but they did not resolve the issue.
    Sorted!
    Hope this helps others.

  • Docking Station and cursor problem

I have recently started having problems with command of the slider either with a mouse or press the key when the computer is in the docking station.  When I try a page scrolling, it tends to jump in such a way that the top is not visible or accessible.  There is no problem when the computer is not in the docking station.  I loaded 7 system several months ago, but this problem started last week.  I did a system restore to three weeks, but it did not help.  Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Problem solved--one of the mouse was bad and scrambled with other mice and touchpad.

  • T42 docking station problem

    Hi all.

Having this weird problem with one of T42 our workers. Whenever she connects her T42 in a docking station and close the lid of the laptop, mouse starts to moves around, no emails can be selected in outlook, no option to restart the computer (start-> stop brings to the top of the dialog box, but cannot select anything from there.)

She tried an another dock, but no difference, the same problems.

    You have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Lullaby, welcome to the forum,

    A few suggestions to try;

    (1) replace the TrackPoint cap with the traditional "furry" dome has a profile below.

    (2) remove the cap of Trackpoint all together

    (3) make sure that the keyboard is installed, disassembly and assembly instructions can be found here (you can try perhaps also bend the keyboard a bit if remove you it)

    (4) turn off the Trackpoint using the UltraNav utility or in the BIOS

As you can probably guess, I think that your problem maybe the Trackpoint is in contact with the screen when closed.

    Hope this helps
