EA6900 - sky, on-demand and other connection issues...

Hi all

Newby to post on this forum has my camera for a few weeks now to replace an older WRT54G.

I'll try and be as descriptive as possible and give you all the info I have and all that I tried in the hope that someone can point me in the right direction - live chat could not help!

UK - user using VirginMedia fiber for wide band. I have their super hub 2 - but configured in modem mode, preferring my router. Which, as mentioned is new EA6900 to replace the old WRT54G who had got a bit tempremental. The model has no version only. so I assumed that ver 1.0, but it has the power switch. Firmware is the 863 it auto updated version. I disabled this now but alas too late that I read and I can't not the old version of 524 of support (see my other post).

I have some questions other wireless an occasional reboot which I think could be fixed by downgrading of firmware if I could do it with!

My question comes with a wired connection (via a switch and ethernet adapter power - but have eliminated these and will expand again) to use SKY service on request. It still worked before changing the router. After changing the router on SKY request I get a message saying ok broadband connection - I get an IP address valid to my assigned range, but it fails to connect to the service on request. I had control of the SKY and they insist, it is not a question to an end and sent signals etc. I have the same problem in three Sky boxes that used to work.

I also saw this same problem/error with my PS3 which is no longer connects to the internet using a wired connection, it also crashes my switch - but was "bypassed" up to wireless, but even that had to be configured manually and don't work with the settings auto detected.

I wondered if the use of adapters EOP was causing the problem or my switch that hangs off the coast of one of them, and is connected to that of sky boxes was the cause of error. To prove this, I got a long ethernet cable and plugged directly from the router to the switch - eliminate the EOP adapters but no change. I repeated the process but hard directly router cable to Sky box, but once again the same fault through the service on.

I should mention that I have Apple TV not connecting the same switch (like the PS3 and sky) and it works fine no errors!

I did believe all the stuff of sky - planners reconstruction, latest version of the software etc. but now it takes a config or setting I missed on the router which is the stop of service request to work properly, or a problem with the router itself.

Sorry for the post of time-consuming but I wanted to capture and explain as much as possible. I'm technical with IT resonably as I work in the industry, but the network is not my area of expertise.

Any help that can be offered is received gratefully :-)

I just wanted to post an update...

I finally found a resolution everthing has been resolved by adding parameters of OPENDNS server address to the list of router DNS servers. I have never needed these before always use those provided by my ISP, but I found the answer in a dark NetFlix forum - I don't yet use this service, but it seemed similar and solved the problem.

I update incase it helps anyone else.

    I repeat just what Mylenium and Sebastian said, but I wanted to make sure that their answers were considered as fact (which they are).

    CUDA has nothing to do with After Effects. Among the Adobe video applications, only first Pro CS5 using CUDA. Also, The Premiere Pro Mercury is not supported-use engine SLI. (Keep the issues of Premiere Pro, CUDA and mercury on the Premiere Pro forum).

    There is not a limit of 3 GB/Heart in After Effects CS5. It is true that the largest number the values preset in the memory & multiprocessing Preferences is 3 GB, but you can change the predefined settings. See the comment at the bottom of this page for more information on changing the presets.

    Also, consider that After Effects is not the only software currently running on your computer. At the very least, you also operation of the OS. If you want to spend 4 GB per process of After Effects (which is a reasonable number for digital cinema), and you use 4 CPU cores for simultaneous multiple images of multiprocessing rendering, so you need not just 16 GB; you need as more than 20 GB, so that the operating system and other software have what they need.   • Help on upgrading 10.7.5 El captain in MS Office and other possible issues

    I have a Mac Book Pro December 2011, OS X 10.7.5. I struggled with the implementation of php and many other issues and have been repeatedly invited to improve my OS. As a newbie in CS, I frankly scared - it's the only computer I have, and I can't lose/break/brick/etc, because I won't be able to fix any serious problem at the moment, not until I know what's best. But I'm really tired of losing time because of low productivity, constant freezing and other issues; and also feel ashamed bothers people on forums like this one, only because I have an obsolete system and lack of appropriate knowledge (the latest is not shameful because I learn, but the first can be really annoying for people who help me).

    Please, help me with this question:

    (1) is it safe to upgrade directly to el Captain 10.7.5?

    (2) If Yes on first, what are the possible problems that may arise and what should I do to avoid problems?

    (3) should I reinstall MS Office to upgrade the OS? This is crucial for me because I found out that I have to buy new MS Office, as Microsoft staff informed me. This isn't really the best money for me at the moment.

    -Consult the developer of your applications if they will work with El Capitan.  Some may require updates and some may simply not work, and you must buy an upgrade. A MS Office for Mac license will be valid when upgrading to El Capitan, if the version you have is compatible with El Capitan.

    -In EL Capitan Apple strengthened for some hardware will require drivers drivers updated signature. For some hardware updated drivers are not available.

  • Install an upgrade of Vista or Win 7 from Xp or Vista: can I install the first then get updates then install or just install when the first is installed? And other related issues.

    Firstly: I understand that Windows XP can have Windows Vista upgrades. Second, Windows 7 upgrades require Windows Vista not windows XP.

    So:

    -If I had to install Windows XP: I install the Vista upgrade right after? Or should I get all updates for XP first?

    -If I had to install Windows Vista: I would like to install the Windows 7 upgrade right after? Or should I get the updates for Vista first?

    -Would be recognized hardware in a laptop in the upgrade or installation of the version full? For example: I have a laptop. It is pre-loaded with the software and hardware that had specific software: for example: the modem, modem wireless and other things that the cell needs to function... But I had to make a back-up for the laptop, there was no installation cd and cd software. I know that Windows installs drivers that are ok. The material would be useless if?

    It is whether equipment manufacturers if they write Vists/etc drivers, or not.

    And they often decide to sell more NEW material, instead of writing the most recent operating system drivers.

    Microsoft depends a lot on what they provide.

  • Carrier - installation and basic connection issues

    We have never used or installed the front carrier.  We currently use Tidal 5.3 x and a sandbox to 6.2 upgrade.  I looked at all the documentations of carrier I can find or miss me even a few very simple questions - more I can't "help" to the carrier to work.

    1. WHERE to install the carrier and why?  CM server?  Master Server?  Desktop computer?  If it's on a server, then should the user executing remote server in order to transport the user?
    2. I have tried to install on each of the above, but a connection could not be.  When I click on 'test', I get the error "Failed to Connect [failed to connect with responseCode [404]] what should I be entered in each of the areas following connections?  My comments indicate that I assumed/attempted to enter and received the above error.
    • Name of the connection - just a name given to a connection? aka TESSandboxMaster
    • Server - server name?  master?  Y at - it a specific format, in that it must be?
    • DSP/Plug in name - I found a dsp on my CM server file named YOUR - 6.0.dsp - should I put YOUR - 6.0 here?
    • User - user of the network which is a Super user of tide?  aka networkname\superuser?
    • pwd - pwd for this user windows?

    1. the carrier is installed on the Client Manager - CM is essentially a web to manage the demands of customers, orders sacmd and Server utility for the transport of jobs from one environment to the other. A tide user should be given rights to move Production jobs, and I think tide user must be able to sign the cm as well.

    2. I looked at an older copy of user guide 6.1 carrier provides instructions on how to complete these fields:

    To create a connection: (on page 32)

    • In the connection name field, enter the name of the connection file.
    • In the server name field, enter the name of the Client Manager machine.
    • DSP/Plugin name, enter the name of the primary instance.
    • The name of the primary instance is the name of YOUR DSP or Plugin. It is displayed from the user Web interface in master status pane.
    • In the Server Port field, enter the Web Service used by the Web Client tide listening port. The default value is 8080 for unsecured connections and 8443 for secure connections.
    • In the user and password fields, enter a valid Business Planner user name and a password.
    • Select the secure HTTP option if you want to connect safely through the HTTPS protocol.

    This option is only enabled if the carrier has been configured for sure
    connections. Figure 8 is an example of a carrier not configured for sure
    connections.

  • Facing problems with Windows Update and other performance issues.

    Hi, I have a Windows 7 (64 bit) for HP Pavilion dv6 laptop. Since January 5, 2014, my computer had problems. Windows Update stopped working. Whenever I try to run it, it says that the service is not running. When I try to set the agenda by running Microsoft Fix it, an error occurs. It says "Troubleshooting cannot continue because an error has occurred" and when I try to repair Microsoft Fix it with "DIAG_MATS_NETWORK_global", it does not detect any problems. The first time I met the problem was when I tried to play Minecraft; It wouldn't connect and when I tried to relog I get a "SocketException: unrecognized Windows Socket Error: 86 create." Microsoft Security Essentials has update problems as well and my Hamachi can not connect. Skype and all my other programs and video games, such as League of Legends and Maplestory all will work perfectly well. I've looked everywhere in the Microsoft Web site and cannot find a solution. Please help me solve this problem!

    I can see previous wifi connections in the register:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Network\DataUsage\Wlan

    But I can't find anyway through the user of Windows 8 interface to modify or delete these profiles.  Example, I have some of networks when I traveled in Europe and no longer need them.

    Example:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Network\DataUsage\Wlan\LLOYDHOTEL

    BTW, I don't want to just delete the entry in the registry without knowing if it's the right way to remove?

    I did use the netsh wlan show profiles command and those in the registry is not listed (see above), so no still no chance to remove them.

    A number of people have asked on various forums on setting up WEP on Windows 7 and Windows 8.

    The vast majority of the responses say that you cannot do and just talk about why you should not use WEP in the first place. The fact is that sometimes you have TO connect to a wireless network and it happens to be using WEP. It can be a wireless network at home of a friend, at school, or other places which do not own you. Or it can be your own wireless network and you just want to use it without the hassle of configuring your router and all your computers (again).

    YES, people, you CAN manually configure your desktop or laptop computer running Windows 7 or Windows 8 to work with a wireless network using WEP. And the good news is that it is very simple to do.

    You must manually configure a wireless profile. The process is very simple and painless.

    Go to start/Control Panel / Network and sharing Center
    Select "set up a new connection or network".
    Select "manually connect to a wireless network.
    Fill in "Network name" (this is the SSID)
    Select the type of 'security' (in drop-down list, select WEP or other type)
    Choose the "type of encryption" (choose in the drop-down list)
    Fill in "Security key" (for example 10 hex character or password)
    You can also check:
    Hide the characters (recommended)
    Start this connection automatically (recommended)
    Connect even if the network is not broadcasting (read the disclaimer)

    Once the profile has been set up, you should be able to automatically or manually connect to the wireless network using WEP.

  • EUL5. SQL and other administrative issues

    I am responsible for creating reports for an application based on Oracle.

    As part of the purchase, the supplier of the application supplied discoverer.  The seller installed discoverer.  The provider support is not very well on their own request, so I don't even try to get help from their share of issues of discoverer.

    Some of the users of the application build reports using discoverer; I, personally, hate it.

    I am, by nature of my post, considered the Discoverer administrator, however.  I don't know anything about the software, but have recently found how I can get the end-user reports shared for me (for purposes of, then, sharing to others) through SQL (I know, I know - is not supposed to do it this way - but to get my end users to track the requests on the part is like pulling teeth).

    In read so, however, it became clear that I had no EUL functions installed for END user license holder.

    I tried to run eul5.sql, and I get "insufficient permissions", if!

    What owner eul permission would be missing, and how I give you that?  (I have access level of the Oracle database sys taking the NLY).

  • Properties panel disappeared and other new issues regarding the installation

    I installed CC 2014 in a new computer, including DW CC. When I open a file, the properties panel, normally at the bottom of the page is missing and that I was able to restore, which leads to the question: How can I resetor the properties panel? Second, for most other programs, I found a way to move/copy/preferences, etc. to the new computer. I've not found that to 2014 DW. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  • iPhone 6 s frame in metal and other hardware issues.

    My iPhone 6 s top right angle curve is slightly thicker and swollen, and obviously if we drive her finger around the edges around the phone. I can clearly see aluminium frame slightly increase, then I sensor part and finally top the dual ion-exchanged glass. I'm sure that I didn't see 3 different layers on my iPhone 6, perfectly average lead to metal frame glass. Help.

    and to add to my previous question, I don't drop my phone ever. It's just a week.

    I am a layman in the thing of the license, we are a publishing company by looking at our digital editing equipment and want to create a custom player.

    Adobe DPS is clearly the best way to go for this, because our content is all created in Adobe inDesign.

    I want to know is what is the extra cost total needed to be able to have our own player which publishes on the desktop and andriod ipad?

    There is annual fresh license? Are there fees for our material costs?

  • can not access the internet even if my wifi connection status is "enabled", I go to another user and am connected, get updates and others and have the ability to nav.

    Windows 32-bit Vista on a HP laptop, wifi is on State is enabled and still on the past of the main user unrelated real, even when the State is supposed to be activated, I went my way, any other user and get the updates to download and other connect ability.  Can someone help me change it's for a 76 year old mother, who gets very nervous sometimes with the laptop that I gave him, help me please...     You are able to go online to a different user account. There must be a problem with the settings of the web browser. Try these steps and check the result.

    Step 1: Reset the Internet Explorer settings.
    1. Click Start, type inetcpl.cpl and press to enter.
    2. click on the tab advanced and then click Reset.
    3. click on reset.
    4. When you are finished, click Close, and then click OK.
    5. close Internet Explorer and reopen it before the changes take effect.
    6. check internet connectivity.

  • Browser is loading the websites completely, while others are not and others with "this connection is untrusted"

    I've just updated 18.0.1 last night and the problems began immediately. Even this site, I had to leave as an exception then when it loaded it has no color, no menus, etc. What is happening on facebook, some parts of the Amazon, etc. I get "this connection is untrusted" when I try to load gmail, connect to Amazon, trying to load this support page, etc. However I have no problem with google.com, wiki and other sites randomly. I need this problem as soon as possible, I have a deadline for my work and can not open my email to send files.

    I'm tech savvy relativity, but by reading the forum on firewalls and such did not help me. I'm completely lost, panicked and three seconds away just completely wiping my computer.

    Check the date and time of the clock on your computer: (double) click on the clock icon in the Windows taskbar.

    What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?

    Find out why the site is not approved (see technical details) and if this is due to an intermediate certificate missing then see if you can install the intermediate certificate from another source.

    Some firewalls monitor secure connections (https) and send their own certificate instead of the certificate of the Web site.

    You can retrieve the certificate and check details such as WHO issued the certificates and the expiration dates of certificates.

    • Click on the link at the bottom of the error page: "I understand the risks".

    Let Firefox recover the certificate: "Add Exception"-> "get certificate".

    • Click on the "view..." button. "and inspect the certificate and the Coachman, who is the sender.

    Very strange that this issue has been raised suddenly and even system restore back the working time is not solve it.  At this point, I suspect something mischievous because restoration of return must be a guaranteed fix.  If it worked on Friday, it should work if restore you backup on Friday.

    I ask you to check if your network card has got an update which could have features broke, but that can't be the problem because the restoration of return would be handed over the old version.

    Indeed, using restore in a working time essentially says that this isn't a configuration problem, because configuration is in a known-to-be-working state (because he worked at the restored time).

    I would therefore start at this stage, verification of hardware, antenna, connections, equipment devices.

  • The internet connection on my laptop and other portable device, but not in my office.

    I have this problem since yesterday and I tried to solve this problem since.
    The problem is that on my connection (WiFi) network, it says I have access to the internet, and of course it does because I can use internet without problem on my laptop, iphone and other portable device, but not in my office. It says I have an internet connection and when I ping a browser it answers correctly and it gives me all the Member States and other information.
    When I troubleshoot it it gives me something like "your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (www.microsoft.com) is not responding." I thought it was a DNS problem so I reset everything, but no luck. Here are things I tried to solve this problem.
    -Reset TCP/ip using cmd.
    -Check if the IP is obtained automatically.
    -Check if I'm using the proxy server.
    -Rebooted (reinstalled windows)
    and many other things that I have searched on google
    But these proposals did not fix the problem.

    Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Communities. The description of the problem, I understand that you are not able to connect to the WiFi of the desktop computer. Provide the following information for the better understanding of the issue:

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         You use a third-party security software?

    ·         If it works well before?

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

    Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

    Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

    Startup options (including safe mode)

    Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
