Each Apple Mail account has black Triangles with exclamation mark inside

In the last month or triangles Web, black with inside exclamation points appear next to any of my email accounts. All my email accounts are set up for the IMAP protocol. My email accounts include @icloud, @gmail, @sbcblobal.net addresses.

When I click on the triangle, I get a message like this:

_______________________________________________________

There may be a problem with the mail server or the network. Check the account settings "*" or try again.

The server returned the error: connection to the server 'imap.gmail.com' on default ports has expired.

When I right click on an account name, it shows the possibility to take account offline, for example: take * offline. »

When I right click and synchronize an account, he seems to have no effect.

When I run the connection doctor, connect all the accounts.

If I quit mail and then restart it, there is no triangles at first but then after a few minutes, they reappear.

Sometimes I send messages from one account. Earlier when I sent a message from one of my gmail accounts all the triangles to my iCloud account disappeared. A few minutes later the same gmail account was a black triangle next to him and I could not send.  The label of mail sent from that account was also a black triangle. In a few minutes the triangles disappeared form the two Inbox and sent mail box and the message has been sent and received.

In short, I see no rhyme or reason as to when the triangles appear or disappear.

I encounter this problem on my i21.5 inches, end of 2013), iMac.

I don't remember when I see it on one of my IOS devices.

My broadband connection is 12 Mbps and works reliably.

never understand you this? I'm having the same problem with .mac mail and gmail. It is random and comes and goes. Although usually, but not always, when the exclamation point iCloud account, is the gmail account. I would appreciate any solution you found.

  • In some emails that I get in Windows Mail I have little boxes with red x inside in the message body where a logo or a picture should be.

In some e-mails I receive (Windows Mail), I have little boxes with red x inside in the message body where a logo or a picture should be. How can I get the logo to show?

Tools | Options. On the reading tab, make sure that you do not read in plain text. On the Security tab, uncheck the box: «block images...» "

If you still get the red X, it was how it was sent and there is nothing you can do on your end.

  • MacBook Pro with question mark inside a folder after fix

So I have Macbook Pro 2012 13 "with a 500GB SSD and 8 GB of ram. In may, my computer would not boot into the operating system without previous indications of possible failure. It would display an exclamation mark inside a folder at startup (later, I thought means that the hard drive is a problem). I took it to Apple-authorized repair Tech on my campus and they were unable to understand the source of the problem, but said it was possible that my OS has been corrupted. After some searching myself, I started to think it was the TRIM bug which has been a known issue with Samsung. Samsung has gladly replaced my hard drive. I have connected the new hard drive and I fell again on the same issue. I started to consider the water of the hard drive has been the question... So I replaced that and was able to start again! Fast forward to today, several months later, and I have the same problem. However, now I can start in the OS sometimes while sometimes it will show the flashing icon. If the hard drive ribbon cable I bought was of bad quality, or that would indicate a bigger, more serious problem? I'm confused as to how to proceed to solve this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, I suspect a problem with the new ribbon cable or its connection to the logic board.

  • What does the warning triangle with exclamation point next to the Inbox of mail?

I tried to change my e-mail POP IMAP account. Even if I follow my ISP instructions, it did not. I now have a triangular symbol with an exclamation mark next to the "Inbox". All of my emails that were in the "Inbox" disappeared. Similarly all my emails that were in my "Sent" box disappeared. And I am not receiving emails in "Mail" Although new can be read in my web mail.

    Any suggestions please?

The triangle with an exclamation point means that your this Inbox settings may be incorrect. Your computer is unable to correct for this server; so, it can retrieve or send messages.

  • Apple Mail rules do not work with iCloud and shipping

I have recently started using iCloud as my primary e-mail for IMAP and SMTP service.  However, I always have my e-mail account non-Apple of active origin with a setup of the redirector to point to my iCloud email.  I also put my answer use the original non-Apple e-mail.  This configuration works very well except that the e-mail rules don't seem to work on forwarded e-mail messages.

When you use the iCloud SMTP server, from Apple Mail or from the site from iCloud, you can use your @icloud.com/@me.com/@mac.com TSA address address "from". You cannot use a different, non-iCloud, email address.

  • 24.5.0 - deleted mail account and have problems with a new false folder

    Hello

I've been messing around with my Thunderbird data, so this problem is of my own making I think.

I deleted an e-mail account using my provider configuration area. It was an e-mail account that I had set up initially at his accession to this provider and contained only test messages etc and was therefore no other use.

I had implemented this e-mail in Thunderbird and after deleting the account with my ISP I then removed the account in Thunderbird. Everything seemed to be OK.

Now, to confuse the issues. I had already set up a list of folders under local folders for emails filtered into Thunderbird - I now moved their in my main account by click/drag and drop on the name of the account. Although it has taken a lot of time (and unexpectedly used a huge amount of bandwidth), the operation seemed at last to the end (even though it was really hard to determine until I finally found the activity monitor).

Now, to the point of this ad:

After all the above, I discovered that a false file was created under the Inbox of my main account, called "new % 20Folder = 0' that I read in the new folder-0. I don't know at what point in the above that this issue has appeared, but I * think * I must have dragged / dropped one of my folder moves on the Inbox instead of the account name field.

Now, dear readers, if you've got so far, most of my problem. I can not remove this folder when I try, I get the message

The current operation on the "new % 20folder-0"failed." The e-mail server for the account * answered the folder does not exist.

I tried a bunch of things, change the settings in its properties, etc, but I have no reason to delete.

Question is: How can I remove it?

    I'd do it:

    (a) check on the website of the the email provider to check if he had copied here and cope. Your mention of bandwidth suggests it is an IMAP-connected account.

    (b) close Thunderbird, open their profile , and delete the offending file there. You need to browse your profile for a while understand its structure before doing anything rash.

In General, I discourage users to drag files just as you did. By all means, drag the content (even better, use to select, then right click and "copy to" or "move to"), but moving files is IMHO indefinite operation with unpredictable results. I've heard talk of users move a folder from one account to another and find that it always associated with (i.e. "belongs to") the original account.

The account on Thunderbird for my e-mail address won't let me update my box in. When I go to 'New Messages' there is a lock on the envelope and I get all new messages. How can I sort this allow mw to receive my massages?

The padlock just means it's a narrative that uses a secure connection. It is unlikely to have nothing to do with your inability to pass messages. Who is the account provider?
