Easy transfer will not go in Sata drive D:

Using Easy Transfer of 64-bit Windows 7 system to another system of 64-bit Windows 7.  New computer has OS installed on 125-GB SSD HARD drive and Easy Transfer wants to use this player.  How do I ask him to transfer files instead of D 2 TB SATA drive?  (I tried the solution to use an external hard drive, but easy transfer to tell me I have not enough space, when in fact much more than 1 TB is free).

When restoring, you can select the location.

  • Windows Easy Transfer will not work for me between my old laptop with Windows XP and my new laptop with Windows 7.

I am trying to transfer my files to my new laptop with Windows 7 for my old laptop with Windows XP Professional, using the Windows Easy Transfer, that I found on my old laptop.   I tried to make the transfer through my home wireless network and when that did not work...  I connected the two laptops with a cable (the same style of cable, used to connect his computer to a modem or router, not a cable SSB).

So in summary, I just want to transfer all my files from my old laptop to my new laptop.   I copied the master file of my data from my old laptop on a "stick" assuming that I could download just to stick to the new laptop.  (I have a lot of "sticks" here.)   The idea did not work, of course, results otherwise wouldn't ask this question now.

If you had previously copied simply data (documents folders) via a key files should be no problem during the copying of that stick to the library on win7 locations, and is there's this which is exactly the err MSG?

    Hello

I recently bought a drive Seagate Momentus 7200 RPM 320 Gig - http://www.seagate.com/docs/pdf/datasheet/disc/ds_momentus_7200_3.pdf (on sale at Best Buy for $99 - who could resist that?)

However, if I install the drive as primary, the laptop does not start at all - the BIOS does not see the drive. I checked in the BIOS - the only SATA setting I have is to toggle between 'AHCI' and 'Compatibility Mode' and in each framework, I get the same result - the BIOS does not recognize the drive.

  • the transfer will not find my user account

My XP workstation has my profile with a dot in the name such as "user.systemname".

Easy transfer will not find this user account.  I was trying to rename the profile, but the system won't let me not renaming the directory that I do not have enough permissions or something is in use.

How can I get an easy transfer to recognize a profile with a dot in the name?

    Like Windows 7...

Create a new user account and transfer your files and settings to the new account.

If that were the case, might as well the user simply copy the content of the personal folder under C:\Documents & Settings of an external hard drive.

Question is the part of a domain user account? If so, that may be why he won't let you rename (without permission).

If you are, I recommend the UN machine in the domain join then rename the account.

  • laptop will not allow new hard drive

Laptop HP 2000-2b19WM will not again take hard drive, no parameters in Bios to allow to change the SATA or IDE drives I activated the legacy... support any help would be appreciated...

OK, that makes sense. Starting with Windows 8 key Code is built into the BIOS. If you could get an OEM of Windows 8 drive you can install it and it just works (activate) without needing a key Code.

And if she has had 10 Windows activated on this subject, you can reinstall Windows own 10 and it will activate only as soon as it is connected to the internet.

  • Easy transfer does not recongize. MIG file

I replaced the drive in my Dell d830.  I gathered my files on the external hard drive.  When I run easy transfer on "new computer", it does not recognize the file in the box go.  I can see it on the disk, but it does not load.  Help?

No, easy transfer does not have XP to XP.

Is the old hard drive available and functional?

Have you ever used Windows Easy Transfer to copy the files to your external drive?

If you used easy transfer AND your original drive is no longer available (or dead), you may be able to recover the data, but there is no guarantee.

Microsoft technical support may be able to help--for a fee.  Alternatively, you can Google MigRecover Utility.  However, I understand that there are different versions of the file creates MIG Windows Easy Transfer, but this requires different versions of the tool (I think USMT4 is for the version of Windows 7 to WET and USMT3 for the version of Vista, but I don't know for you).

Sorry, I have more new and good luck.

PS Si the old drive is not actually dead, your best bet is probably to buy a USB or FireWire external drive box and copy the data directly.

  • Windows easy transfer is not easy and not transfer

I just bought a new PC and wanted to transfer from the old.  Both are Win 7 Home Premium.  I used the option of Windows Easy Transfer connect network, both computers are on my home LAN.  The transfer took 6 hours.  I thought I had deleted all the jpg files, but they always fell on (only losing 5 hours of my life over a copy of disc).  IE9 settings were there - but that's the thing is useful.  The direct e-mail settings simply had not been transferred.  I installed Live Mail and it is just empty.  I tried to copy only through details of the user, but it was no more successful and he has DELETED ALL JPGs PREVIOUSLY COPY.  Thank you MS for your attention and respect for your customers and your complete product tests!  Oh, and copy the stuff of direct mail by hand requires extreme care.  The export option "all folders" will retrieve only AN email at random a few records at random.  Totally useless.

Try to create a. MIG file on the old computer and save it on an external hard drive, then start the transfer of files to the new computer and then point on the. MIG of the file and restore it:

  • Windows Easy Transfer does not

I got a new computer WIndows 8. I want to transfer my data from my Windows 7 computer. Easy transfer works on windows 7 but not 8. When I pull up on the 8 I have the question Yes or no. Yes constituting the data is already on a drive hard and being that I have not used before. If I click No., it closes. It brings me to another menu as it does on windows 7. I want to transfer data via wifi.

Transfer files and settings with Windows Easy Transfer in Windows 8

Windows easy transfer supports several methods to transfer your files and settings.
You can use Windows easy transfer to transfer information to a computer running Windows 8 computers with one of the following operating systems:
    • Windows 8
    • Windows 7
    • Windows Vista
    • Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Service Pack 3 (SP3)
NOTE: Windows Easy Transfer cannot transfer files between a 64-bit version of Windows and a 32-bit version of Windows. Instead, the files must be transferred manually using external storage devices. To find the version of Windows on your computer, see the is the Version on my computer 32-bit or 64-bit Windows
    ? support document.
Step 1: Determine the best method of transfer

When you transfer files between Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 computers, choose a method that works on both computers. Windows easy transfer supports the following transfer methods:
    • External hard drive or USB flash drive: to use a USB flash drive, you need a USB port on each computer. If you use an external hard drive, it must be compatible with both computers.
    • Easy transfer cable: you need a special USB cable designed to work with Windows 8 and Windows Easy Transfer and a USB port on each computer. If you don't have an easy transfer cable, you can order one online or get one at an electronics store. The easy transfer cable is supported on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers.
NOTE standard USB cable: A cannot be used to transfer files and settings between computers.

    • Network: both computers must be connected to the same cable or wireless network and both computers must be able to share files and folders.

To decide which method to use, consider the amount of information you will sit. If you are transferring everything from all users on the computer, or all of your user account files, an easy transfer cable, external hard drive or a network works well. If you transfer only a few files or folders, a USB works well.
Step 2: Open Windows Easy Transfer on the new computer in Windows 8.1

All the following steps on the new computer from Windows 8 to open Windows Easy Transfer. You must be logged in using an administrator account.
NOTE: before performing the following steps, unplug both computers to the Internet and temporarily disable any firewall software that may be running.

Everyone knows a problem, try to scan directly to Google Reader using the HP Easy Scan software?  I had HP Easy Scan Setup for about a year and I configured Google Drive in v1.0.7.0 HP Easy Scan and it worked until recently.  I have not activated double authentication Google and Google Drive works locally on my PC.  So I know that my Google credentials are correct.

When I try to configure Google Drive in HP Easy Scan to choose a folder of cloud, I get an "Unable to connect" error HP Easy scan.  I tried this on two different computers.  It did not work so I tried a workaround solution.

Scan temporarily to Google Reader using the Easy Scan software I had to add another shortcut to scan in Easy Scan is called a record.  I had also installed the version PC Google Drive, so that I can do refers to a folder on my pc and have it sync with Google Drive in the cloud.  Then I pointed out Easy Scan folder.  Now I can scan to Google Drive again.  It's a work around unnecessary in my mind to make it work properly again.

I guess that Google has done something to their routine of authentication and HP Easy Scan is not compatible with this change yet.

Scanning documents directly to Google Reader using HP Easy Scan is resolved if the software is updated to HP Easy Scan v1.0.9.0.  HP has released a update for Easy Scan and it can be found on the HP Support site by clicking here.  v1.0.9.0 was published on July 30,2015.  Once you download and install the update, scan direct to Google Drive from inside HP Easy Scan won't work correctly once again, as he did in v1.0.7.0 before security update by Google.  I hope this helps!
