Easy VPN through nat

Is there a trick to allow users to connect to a vpn server easy through their router domestic (dlink with nat, IE).

There must be a way with cisco. I know it's possible with other software I've used.

Yes, for an outgoing connection from your dlink vpn client, it should be ok.

If you have configured on your dlink firewall, this is where you need to allow UDP/500 and UDP/4500 out.

    I configured a PIX (6.3) for (4.0.2) VPN clients. When I try to connect using a dial-up connection, I am able to connect, but using a NAT (through a router) I stay connected but cannot access all the servers. It shows the decryption of zero packets.

    Is their something I need to do on PIX? I'm using IPSEC.

    NAT, or more precisely of PAT, will usually break an IPSec connection. Fortunately, there is a new standard called NAT - T that has each end detect that they are going through a NAT/PAT device, and if so, they'll wrap everything in UDP packets, which can then be NAT correctly.

    The customer has of this feature is automatically enabled. On the PIX to put on with the command:

    > isakmp nat-traversal

  • RA - VPN through NAT - T troubleshooting

    Currently, my vpn works great from the outside to the router. The problem, I'm not sure why the traffic inside is not finding its way to the outside (VPNclient). I tried to add interesting traffic acl on my DynamicMap, the vpn client lock did not close, but there is a created isakmp QM_IDLE session and an IPSEC tunnel. I also tried to add a static route on all my local routers (for test only) 10.0.12.0 to my router vpn 10.0.0.188 network routing, only my network device can communicate with my VPN client host when I do this, but the hosts that are part of the network cannot communicate.

    I have attached config and debug outputs.

    Any suggestions?

    Make sure that your gw router has a route to the pool of vpn.

    To do this you must make the following changes:

    (1) disable split Tunneling by deleting the ACL of your configuration of the client group.
    (2) enable NAT for VPN traffic by adding 'ip nat inside' to your virtual model of the client network to the ACL that controls your PAT.

  • Drops of easy vpn due to change of address IP ISP

    I do some testing with Cisco Easy VPN between 2 IOS routers.

    The VPN server is behind a static NAT (made by a checkpoint firewall) and it has a fixed IP address.

    Simple VPN client works on a residential xDSL connection. It is behind a NAT router provided by the ISP.

    The internet router has a dynamic public IP address and it changes every 36 hours (ISP is, can not change).

    The easy vpn works great. Both devices detect NAT and enable NAT-transparency. The link appears and works well.

    The question I have, is that when changes in xDSL router's public IP address, the IPSEC link falls and can't get back online.

    It seems that the change of the public IP address prevents the client in order to re-establish the VPN.

    When I reboot the router to vpn client, VPN back upward.

    Someone has encountered this and is there a way I can avoid this problem?

    I have reproduced this issue in my lab, and instead of charging the EzVPN client, you can simply delete the order "crypto ipsec ezvpn client YOUR_EZVPN ' outside interface and it should do."

    Now, since it is foolish to do it manually whenever it breaks down, I suggest:

    -Configured IP SLA accessibility and the tracks through the tunnel.

    -With a 'Beach' object, you can define if it breaks down or not.

    -In the case of a failure, then remove and add the command ezvpn from outside.

    -To do this, you can use the EEM.

    I'm having a problem setting up an easy VPN server using Cisco Security

    Device Manager Version 2. 0a on a router in 1711 with IOS 12.3 (7) XR3.

    I have reset the router to the factory defects since the opening screen of SDM.

    Connect to 10.10.10.1

    User: cisco

    Password: Cisco

    Start SDM for the initial router configuration dialog box.

    Don't use CNS

    On basic configuration screen:

    Hostname set to router

    Domain: test.com

    Synchronize time with local PC

    Change the user name

    New user name: root

    After reading the summary, I chose the FINISH. Asked if dialog box I have

    you want to set up a basic firewall, I selected YES. I left all the

    secure by default items selected. I clicked FINISH. SDM detected that the

    DHCP client on the untrusted external interface and asked if I wanted to

    allow DHCP traffic through the firewall. I selected YES. The configuration

    has been delivered.

    Save the running-config startup-config and reloaded the router.

    Released and renewed my ip address and then reconnected in 1711 from new

    user name and password. SDM restarted.

    Has begun the task of configuration and choose to set up an easy VPN server.

    The opening screen had a command prompt to enable AAA. I launched the selected task

    After that the AAA commands have been delivered to the router.

    Exit this screen, there was a warning SDM on the NAT with ACL rules

    have to be converted into NAT rules with course maps. I clicked YES to let

    SDM convert rules.

    Tests successful Easy VPN Server and client screen displays a warning

    on the "crypto ipsec df - bit clear' needing to be defined." He was not a

    way to put it in SDM and the search function had no success.

    I copied the running-config to the startup-config and tested the router from a

    connect remotely using a different ISP.

    The results:

    The SDM monitor shows the client connection, but the client cannot ping

    any host on the LAN of the router. No one on the LAN can easy ping of VPN client

    Assigned IP of VPN, but they can ping the client using the asigned IP ISP

    address.

    It seems that SDM not correctly configures the 1711 to route of the

    VPN interface to the local network.

    I enclose my 1711 Running Configuration generated by SDM.

    I think that the reason why the ping is not successful is that your LAN IP address (connected to the VLAN interface) and the pool of IP addresses assigned to the client are in the same network.

    You can try assigning a pool of IP addresses for VPn clients that is in another subnet (say 10.1.2.80 to 10.1.2.90) and then try to ping?

    You can change the pool by means of configure-> additional tasks-> local swimming pools.

    You can then disconnect the client on the Monitoring page and connect again.

    I have to site vpn to the other side being dynamic ip would be and tunnel of everything, except a single destination. I am not able to find any information on this... I can configure easy vpn and get all tunnel but I need to exclude a certain destination

    In the acl and acl split tunnel No. - nat, you can add to the very first lines to deny the excluded subnets or ip hosts that you do not want to go through the tunnel and allow all ip ranges 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, 192.168.0.0/16.

    I have a couple a question and answer on which I can't google for a period. BTW I maybe simly use bad aproach to choose keywords.

    Thus,.

    (1) is it possible to assign the same IP to the same customer every time that it authenticated, preferably without using DHCP? Definely im sure it is possible, but can't find match configuration examples (my camera's 1921 Cisco IOS 15.0.1).

    (2) is it possible to assign the dynamic crypto map to the loopback interface (to make EASY VPN Server accessible through two interfaces - maybe you recommend another approach instead?) - that I move the map workingcrypto of int phy loopback - I can not connect with reason "SA Phace1 policy proposal" not accepted

    (1) you can attach to the same IP to the same username using RADIUS

    (2) If you have 2 outside interfaces

    Then, you would use

    mymap-address loop0 crypto card

    crypto mymap map

    cryptp map mymap

    By doing so, the local address would actually be the loop0 but Cryptography card HAS to be applied on physical output interfaces

    I have an ASA 5505 configuration as simple Client VPN. Current configuration uses two interfaces: inside and outside. I tested the connection to the server and works very well.

    For reasons of site specific I'm limited to a single interface, you can call it inside, lan, whatever. So I need to connect clients to the remote site behind this interface and also use it to reach the easy VPN server. Is it possible in the first place?

    Of course, I will put the default route through the Interior of interface and another router will provide the Internet connection.

    It's so hard to make it work you should consider the answer is no.

    Specifically, you need to have one inside and outside interface or EasyVPN will not come to the top.

    We have set up a site to site vpn using easy configuration vpn between ver 9.5 race (1) two ASA. The tunnels are up and ping is reached between sites. I also configured split tunnel for internet traffic under the overall strategy of the ASA easy vpn server. But for some unknown reason all the customer same internet traffic is sent to the primary site. I have configured NAT to relieve on the side of server and client-side. Please advise if no limitation so that the installation program.

    communication works when you send the traffic of easyvpn derivation because it froms the IPSEC SA to pool local subnet and anyconnect HQ. The SA formed only when the branch initiates the connection as it's dynamic peer connection to HQ ASA.

    When there no SA between branch and HQ for this traffic, HQ ASA has no idea on where to send the anyconnect to network traffic.

    I hope this explains the cause.

    Yes nat - t is available on 6.3.x and above and no it is not enabled by default on the PIX / ASA. It is IOS.

    I have Cisco ASA5520 facing the ISP with private IP address. We don't have a router and how to get the IPSec VPN through the internet?

    The question statement not the interface pointing to ISP isn't IP address private and inside as well.

    Firewall configuration:

    Firewall outside interface Gi0 10.0.1.2 > ISP 10.0.1.1 with security-level 0

    Firewall inside the interface Ethernet0 192.168.1.1 > LAN switch 192.168.1.2 with security-level 100

    I have public IP block 199.9.9.1/28

    How can I use the public IP address to create the IPSec VPN tunnel between two sites across the internet?

    can I assign a public IP address on the Gig1 inside the interface with the security level of 100 and how to apply inside to carry on this interface?

    If I configure > firewall inside of the item in gi1 interface ip address 199.9.9.1/28 with security-level 100. How to make a safe lane VPN through this interface on the internet?

    I'm used to the public IP address allocation to the interface outside of the firewall and private inside the interface IP address.

    Please help with configuration examples and advise.

    Unfortunately, you can only complete the VPN connection on the interface the VPN connection source, in your case the external interface.

    3 options:

    (1) connect a router in front of the ASA and assign your public ip address to the ASA outside interface.

    OR /.

    (2) If your ISP can perform static translation of 1 to 1, then you can always finish the VPN on the external interface and ask your provider what is the static ip address assigned to your ASA out of the IP (10.0.1.2) - this will launch the VPN of bidirectionally

    OR /.

    (3) If your ISP performs PAT (dynamic NAT), then you can only start the tunnel VPN on the side of the ASA and the other end of the tunnel must be configured to allow VPN LAN-to-LAN dynamics.

  • IOS Easy VPN Server / Radius attributes

    I made an easy VPN server installation with a running 12.2 2621XM router (15) output T5. VPN Clients/users are authenticated against Cisco ACS 3.2 by RADIUS.

    It works fine, but there is a problem that I can't solve. Each user must have the same VPN assigned IP address whenever it is authenticated.

    The ACS sends the right radius attribute (box-IP-Address) back to square of IOS, but this address is not assigned to the client. The customer always gets the next available IP address in the local set on the router.

    How can I solve this problem?

    Assignment of an IP address via a server Raidus is currently not supported, even if your Radius Server is through an IP address, the router will ignore it and just assign an IP address from the pool locla. In fact, the pool room is the only way to assign IP addresses currently.
