The anyconnect vpn easy vpn Remote communication problem

Hi team,

I have a problem of communication of the anyconnect vpn easy vpn Remote I´ll explain better below and see the attachment
topology:

(1) VPN Tunnel between branch HQ - That´s OK
(2) VPN Tunnel between Client AnyConnect to HQ - that s OK

The idea is that the Anyconnect Client is reaching the local Branch Office network, but has not reached.
Communication is established just when I begin a session (icmp or rdp) branch to the AnyConnect Client,.
in this way, the communication is OK, but just for a few minutes.

Could you help me?

Hello

communication works when you send the traffic of easyvpn derivation because it froms the IPSEC SA to pool local subnet and anyconnect HQ. The SA formed only when the branch initiates the connection as it's dynamic peer connection to HQ ASA.

When there no SA between branch and HQ for this traffic, HQ ASA has no idea on where to send the anyconnect to network traffic.

I hope this explains the cause.

Kind regards

Averroès.

  • The ESP vpn remote access problem

I have vpn for remote access configured on the router from cisco 2901. Everything works well except 2 3g ipad. When I connect with the ipad 3g network it connects, but it is impossible to access the resources of the company. I talked to my phone provider and they told me that they have some problems NAT with ESP. and advised me to force vpn clients to use ports udp 500 and 4500. How do I configure my router to get there?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

ISAKMP using UDP 500 port for connection management (Phase 1).

NAT - T (used when they are peripheral nat between two VPN end points) using UDP 4500 port.

So now your NAT - T router is configured by default, all you have to do is if you have an ACL on the external interface allow this traffic (Isakamp and NAT T) on some of its latest IOS versions, you do not have to apply the ACL that default VPN traffic (encrypted traffic bypasses the ACL).

If your condition is performed by default, great right thing! You can leave your phone provider, you are ready for the test.

  • How to change AnyConnect VPN remote to complete the split tunnel tunnel?

I couldn't find an answer through the config of the SAA in the Cisco documentation and using Google.  To activate the complete tunnel for the AnyConnect client group policy, I just need to change the policy of Tunneling split to all networks of tunnels and set list of network voice against zero, if I want someone who connects with the AnyConnect customer to guarantee mobility to use internet corp pipe?

Who, more you will also need a NAT nat rule VPN pool meets the ASA outside interface (or if address / hen you normally use for dynamic NAT).

There are a few good examples with illustrations in this document.

  • Transfer the image to the ASDM ASA on the anyconnect VPN

I'm relatively new to the ASA firewalls.  My previous experience of firewall is a firewall provider.  I work with an ASA 5515 - X running ASA 915 and ASDM 713.  I connect Windows 8 and therefore improve the ASDM to 731.  I've done it before no problem.  My problem with this particular update is that I really need to download the image to a VPN connection.  I can't configure a NAT device on my end to allow the ASA to connect to my public IP address - so I can connect to the ASA via anyconnect.  I can't SSH in public IP address of the ASA (for now) but I can't transfer the asdm image obviously not my public IP b/c I have no NAT on my end.  So I connect my PC to the anyconnect service and get an IP VPN.  I need to run the command:

    copy ftp://user: [email protected] / * *//asdm-731.bin disk0:

I get the following output: for access to the ftp://user: [email protected] / * *//asdm-731.bin...
    Error opening % ftp://user: [email protected] / * *//asdm-731.bin (Permission denied)

Anyone know good ways to solve this CLI only?

    Thanks for your help.

    Zach

Looks like a FTP permission problem. The user has read access? Also, make sure that your 8 victory is tuned for FTP requests on map virtual VPN.

one of the other option is to use a host of jump in your lan behind asa and open the asdm from there, using asdm, it will be easier to copy the file to asa flash.

  • Hide the AnyConnect VPN AnyConnect GUI Module

    Dear team

We are wired deployment 802. 1 x with Posture and that NAM is sufficient for us.

but when installing AnyConnect vpn module must be installed and cannot be avoided, so VPN tab is also visible in the GUI AnyConnect interface,

I need to disable the VPN tab from the interface chart anyconnect, because it is not used and confusing for end users.

    We have anyconnect-win-4.1.00028-pre-deploy-k9.

We have a manual installation of AnyConnect on PC or Client Provisioning, we don't use MSI

Please suggest 'VPN profile' to end users, which will hide this vpn module.

    Thank you

    Ahad

Your situation is highlighted in the AnyConnect Administrator's Guide as well:

When you configure the object Configuration AnyConnect to ISE, unchecking the VPN module under the AnyConnect Module selection does not disable VPN on the customer deployed/put in service. You must set VPNDisable_ServiceProfile.xml to disable the VPN AnyConnect GUI tile. VPNDisable_ServiceProfile.xml is on EAC with other files AnyConnect.

The xml file, you need should be on the AnyConnect downloads page, but is not. There's a BugID noting that (CSCus26084). Work around the BugID does not work for me, but it could for you.

The profile CAN be found in the msi file - if you open with 7-zip, you can find the file. She is short, so I'll just paste here:

         true

  • Lock the AnyConnect VPN with broader access list

I'm trying to lock my AnyConnect VPN interface. I use the split tunneling. I want only to http tunnel traffic to an external http server we have and ftp to another external server behave. I don't want anything else through the tunnel or anywhere else allowed on our network. My current setup, I can connect to the vpn and the servers ping external ip address, but not by name. I can also not navigate anywhere else while I'm connected. It is not imperative for me to navigate anywhere else, when you are connected, but I need to allow only access specified above.

It is causing to tear my hair out.  What Miss me?

    Hi Shannon,

I am pleased to see that you're progress.

    Shannon Rotz wrote:

I changed the RM port to 443.  Unfortunately, now I can't connect to the router via browser, either by remote management or from the local network - I get the usual "page cannot be displayed".  How do I get back into the router configuration GUI?

You should be able to reach the GUI by typing https://192.168.1.1(assuming that you have not changed the default IP address) normally once you replace http (port 80) with https (port 443) the internal router web server automatically will redirect you to the https page if you type http. Open your command prompt and try to do a ping of the IP address of the router to ensure that it still meets this address

With regards to the VPN client:   Up until I changed the port, the same error message kept coming up, i.e. "Unable to establish connection" (or something like that), with a list of possible reasons why it couldn't connect. Now the message has changed - I'm getting "Server's certificate doesn't exist on your local computer".  If I continue trying to connect, then it says "Activating Policy", followed by "Verifying Network", then "The remote gateway is not responding.  Do you want to wait?"  This is definitely progress, since I never got this far before.

You are a quarter inch offline. If you look at the log.txt in C:\Program Cisco Small Business\QuickVPN Client, in my view, you will see "Failed to ping router remote VPN! This means that your PC is blocking the ping to the router response. Usually, if you look at this point the status of Client VPN in the router (first of all need to remote management) you will see that your user status is "connected." If the router thinks that the connection is established, but the PC does not work. You might want to try another PC at this stage to verify that it is indeed a problem with your PC. This problem is usually caused by the 3rd party software antivirus/firewall blocking the ping response. Microsoft Security Essentials can do this as well, so if you turn it off. If you do not have another PC to test from, call Cisco Small Business Support and ask a technician, try to connect to the lab. You can find the number to call here

On an impulse, I tried setting up a Windows VPN connection, i.e. created a new VPN connection in Network and Sharing Center, using a PPTP client ID that I had created.  That connection actually worked, except for one problem:  I can't see the remote network.  If I could solve that problem, I'll just tell the other clients to use a Windows connection rather than QuickVPN.

Good thought. If you do not see the remote devices, make sure that they do not block VPN connections. (Windows or third-party firewall, antivirus, antispyware) With a connection, PPTP or QuickVPN, you should be able to go to run, type the IP address of the device that you want to connect to (i.e. \\192.168.1.101 ) and see the list of shared folders. After the PPTP connection is established, try to ping the address LAN IP of the router. If it is successful, try to ping a LAN device such as a network printer or a PC. Again, PCs may block ping requests if they have a firewall running watch so for this.

Answer please if you have any questions.

  • Quality of VoIP BOUNCING over AnyConnect VPN problems

    Hello:

I'm in the middle of the conversion of our environment of VPN for remote access of the former client VPN Cisco AnyConnect (ver. 3.1.01065) VPN's IPSec. I have a number of beta-testers on the new AnyConnect VPN environment, and we have quality problems of intermittent VoIP (IP Communicator 8.5.3 on remote laptops) with the HQ VPN. While I realize that we miss the calls over the Internet, which is a network of 'better' and can not control the Inernet QoS, the special thing is the VoIP call on the former that ipsec VPN seems to work very well 99% of the time.

I did a series of G.729 calls on the old client IPSec and customer AC, with the same laptop, using the same remote access connection. The "VPN server" for the IPSec VPN is an ASA5520 (8.0 (4)), on a connection of 100 Mbps with plenty of reserve, which runs also firewall services for an office of about 500 people and a small DMZ environment. The VPN server that is handling AnyConnect VPN is a new ASA5515-X (8.6 (1) 2), using the same channel of 100 Mbit/s Internet and running VPN services only. When you call running of tests on the old IPSec VPN, the jitter of appeal is pretty consistent, where jitter ave runs about 10 ms and jitter peak running 30-40ms. On the client ACTS, so that 'good' calls run about the same jitter as the old VPN, called the 'bad' (drops intermittent speaker, sometimes sounds 'mechanized'), which produce about 1 of evey 5 calls, run jitter ave to about 120-150ms and jitter of tip of 300-400 m for info, I don't see no packet loss to talk, just call jitter is through the roof. While in most cases, this could be written off as a "bad Internet connection", on the pretty old VPN tests prove a lot is not the issue.

That said, anyone has an idea why the quality of calls is sometimes wrong via the AnyConnect VPN? Is there pest practices that I can work from, or any settings you can recommend? Thank you.

Well, there are several things in our implementation that could help if possible, although I think you can open the case of the TAC, we saw some strange behaviors.

Things to enable the audit side ASA/SSL:

-DTLS - check if it is enabled and WORK (see the det filter name NAME_HERE anyconnect vpn-sessiondb)

see if the packets are tunneled by the DTLS Protocol not TLS. The datagram transport is much better suited for performance.

-Compression - so we see a lot of deployments with it enabled us say this as much as we can. Compression is for links to bandwidth low latency. In the modern internet, it should be used with caution.

-check the ASP drop table on ASA (fall of claire asp, run the "show asp drop' rest and during the period of low performance monitor.)

-additional recording "class... ssl connection. "can give you greater participation.

-See the proto ssl_np - good starting point count

    the list goes on and.

What is important to understand, is that the problem is with the traffic on the wire or from the use of SSL.

    Sniffer traces are essential.

  • AnyConnect VPN users cannot access remote subnets?

I googled this until blue in the face without result.  I don't understand why Cisco this so difficult?  When clients connect to the anyconnect vpn, they can access the local subnet, but cannot access the resources in remote offices.  What should I do to allow my anyconnect vpn clients access to my remote sites?

    Cisco 5510 8.4

    Hello

What are remote sites using as Internet gateway? Their default route here leads to the ASA or have their own Internet gateway? If they use this ASA for their Internet connection while they should already have a default route that leads traffic to the VPN to the pool, even if they had no specific route for the VPN itself pool. If they use their own local Internet gateway and the default route is not directed to this ASA then you would naturally have a route on the remote site (and anything in between) indicating the remote site where to join the pool of 10.10.224.0/24 VPN network.

In addition to routing, you must have configured for each remote site and the VPN pool NAT0

Just a simple example of NAT0 configuration for 4 networks behind the ASA and simple VPN field might look like this

    object-group network to REMOTE SITES

    object-network 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 10.10.20.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 10.10.30.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 10.10.40.0 255.255.255.0

    network of the VPN-POOL object

    10.10.224.0 subnet 255.255.255.0

NAT static destination DISTANCE-SITES SITES source (indoor, outdoor) REMOTE static VPN-VPN-POOL

The above of course assumes that the remote site are located behind the interface 'inside' (although some networks, MPLS) and naturally also the remote site networks are made for the sake of examples.

Since you are using Full Tunnel VPN should be no problem to the user VPN transfer traffic to this ASA in question.

My first things to check would be configuring NAT0 on the ASA and routing between remote sites and this ASA (regarding to reach the VPN pool, not the ASA network IP address)

Are you sure that the configuration above is related to this? Its my understanding that AnyConnect uses only IKEv2 and the foregoing is strictly defined for IKEv1?

  • Anyconnect VPN problem

    Hello friends!

I ve been trying to configure the anyconnect VPN, but I cannot generate the CA, probably I m doing wrong sothing.

To be honest, I Don t know if the problem int this VPN is only what is missing, but is the only thing that I've seen what can be a problem.

Someone knows how to generate the CA in the ASA?

    Hi Marcio,

    Please follow this link:

Do you want authentication certificate based for Anyconnect users?

I'm not sure we really need a CA in this case.

You can try to check this third party link to configure the Anyconnect on SAA basic settings:

  • MAC and PC can reach the same an ASA for Anyconnect VPN?

Hi, we have MAC and PC users. We configure the Anyconnect VPN in an ASA. But two users need two image of sorts. We must therefore use the two commands:

    AnyConnect image disk0: / anyconnect -win- 3.1.04066 - k9.pkg

    AnyConnect image disk0: / anyconnect -macosx- i386 - 2.5.2014 - k9.pkg.

This is what two commands cannot coexist in an ASA. How to solve the problem? I hope your suggestion. Thank you

They can co-exist, but you must add different sequence numbers at the end of each command.

  • AnyConnect VPN client authentication using certificates

Guys, I'm trying to configure my ASA5505 to authenticate the AnyConnect VPN clients using certificates. I have 'Certificates' defined as my method of authentication in my AnyConnect connection profile (see screenshot), but I get 'Certificate Validation failure' whenever I try to connect. The certificate I want to use is a computer issued by my CA certificate company root (Windows Server 2008 running Active Directory Certificate Services). Screenshot of certificate is attached. I added the root certificate on the SAA, and I tried all kinds of combinations by using the corresponding certificate in the AnyConnect Client profile. Each attempt failed, and I'm having no luck finding documentation on how to proceed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Shaun,

The problem you're describing, not be able to authenticate through certificate through Microsoft Internet Explorer, is the fact that the certificate is in the computer store.  You do not want to confirm with Microsoft, but, I understand that only Microsoft Internet users explore the user store, this certificate is not available to attend the ASA via the Internet browser.
