EBS 11i of NT to Linux migration
Hi friends,
We want to migrate our EBS 11i of windows NT to IBM rs-6000 AIX 5.2.
I found these Metalink Notes related to this activity (but under linux):
Doc ID: Note: 238276.1 (Migration of level apps)
Doc ID: Note: 230627.1 (Level Db migration)
Can I use this documentation? since they are two unix flavors? Is it specific to AIX?
This note is updated? or am I on the right track to follow this note?
I there other (additional) procedure I need to check?
Thank you very muchThank you very much my hero :)
You are welcome.
How can I give excellent points for you?
If the above is useful, you can mark it as good/useful.

EBS R12 and VM Ware virtualization
Hi Hussein.
I heard a new product from oracle on "virtualization" for EBS R12.
It's like that. I saw the week last and oracle guy display demo on EBS R12 Financials to a customer.
I see demo in a laptop. His laptop has 4 GB of RAM, and it has a 500G external drive.
His laptop has Windows XP and Linux OS. The EBS R12 is installed on Linux.
My quiestion is oracle virtualization software can do? or it is the work of VM Ware.
What I like the most is that he was able to run 2 OS at the same time on his laptop computer.
I just want to know what to do.
Thank you very much in advanceHello
You are right. As the Windows operating system is at issue here, so I think that VMWare is the software used in this configuration. The procedure must have installed, Windows Installer VMWare then install Linux OS as a guest on the virtual machine operating system, then have Oracle Apps 11i/R12 installed on Linux. Please note that it is also possible to have Windows installed as a guest OS with Oracle VM.

The EBS R12 upgrade and solaris to linux in a one-way migration?
Hi all, first post on this forum so bear with me.
I plan on spending 11.5.10.2 Solaris (sparc) 64-bit EBS EBS R12 on RHEL 5 x 86-64 a and would like to know if I can make in a shot that is the migration and upgrade in one step or I need to go to R12 first and then migrate first and then upgrade or migrate.
I understand the stages of migration and upgrade, but have not seen any documentation to support on the combination of them, someone does that?
Thanks in advance
JeremyHello
You can upgrade the application in the Solaris to R12 box then migrate the R12 to Linux application (since your target OS is 64-bit Linux, please note that you can not migrate the 11i application as 64-bit operating system is accredited as a layer of database for the Oracle 11i applications only).
To install R12 11i, please see:

Hi all
We migrate our Linux 32-bit to 64-bit Os.
Our current environment:
EBS - R12.1.3
Database - 11 GR 2 32 bits
OS - release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 4-32 bit
Currently we intend to migrate OS to RHEL 32 bit to 64 bit OEL4.
I found a paper: migration Oracle E-Business Suite R12 of Linux 32 bit for Linux 64-bit [471566.1 ID]
Please suggest if any other process is there to migrate R12.1.3 EBS with 11 GR 2 database.
Concerning
ShaikShaik,
You must install all the operating system software and pre - req. (Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and upgrade 12 Release Notes (12.1.1) for Linux x 86-64 [761566.1 ID]).
For database migration, see (Oracle EBS R12 database Tier platform only on the basis of data Oracle 11.2.0 [456347.1 ID]) as the doc referenced in your note is 10 gr 2
Thank you

Hello
I am upgrading R12.0.6 EBS EBS R12.1.1 and in the process after the 455492.1 document.
It is said in the document-
" ..
Step 3.3: Download the latest JDK 6.0 update
Click on the appropriate link below to download the JDK on the site that corresponds to the operating system used on the application tier node. Download the 32-bit JDK, not the Java (JRE) runtime environment. Due to the integration of Java and C++ code that is currently available on 32-bit do not choose the 64-bit version, which is not supported on the 10.1.2 House.
"
What it means? Under Linux, you just need 32-bit jdk installation?
After that, I followed the document 1439822.1 and downloaded the next jdk:
19138237 Oracle JDK 6 Update 85 OCTOBER 14, 2014
What is the correct jdk for my environment (Oracle AS 10.1.3 on Linux 64 bit)?
BR,
Anurag

I am not a beginner and I'm doing a vision of Oracle EBS R12 installation on my laptop.
I downloaded the pack of 3 journalists Oracle Enterprise Linux version 6 update of edelivery.com and installed Oracle Linux on Vmware preinstalled.
Now, I want to know what all the patches, the packaging and the RPM is necessary as a prerequisite before proceeding with the installation of R12.
How to check if they are already present and how to install them.
I have referred to the oracle notes but tangled in what points to be followed and that jump.
Please guide.

EBS R12.1 login page cannot display - after installation
Hello
I installed Oracle EBS R12.1 with multi node installation
Host system: Windows 7
VMPlaer:
System1 comments: Database 64 bit OS Oracle Linux 6.7 Vision node
System2 comments: OS Oracle Linux 64 bit Apps Tier 6.7
EBS Application installed successfully, and I can see both are rising and running, I can see the login page (no forms) in DB and Apps nodes. And I can connect to the database of customer of db host system, but not able to open the login page to the host system. I checked the version of java and every thing looks fine at the host system, I can open it with other EBS on all issues.
Based on Metalink notes:
Solution1: Auto config ran level apps and does not - and file DBC looks good - no problem on the automatic configuration
Option2: Recompiled from $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin - no JSP compiler error
My conclusions from host system:
Apps URL: http://192.168.64.130:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
When I am trying to open in Internet Explorer:
This page cannot be displayed
•Assurez - you have the web address http://192.168.64.130:8000 is correct.
• Look for the page with your search engine.
•Refresh page in a few minutes.
When I am trying to open in Mozila:
URL changed - which means that he is in communication with the server, something stops
Mozila:
The connection has expired
The server to ebsapps.oracle takes too long to respond.
The site may be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
After delay, issue, I checked in the applications node
I could see the suite of changes, I don't know I made these changes before installing. Seems to be after the restart apps replaced node network manager the /etc/resolv.conf file.
/ etc/etc/resolv.conf: this cannot be a problem, I think, because I can open the page of connection on the DB node
options attempts: 5
options timeout:15
I'm not sure what could be the problem. Please guide me to solve this problem. Any help will be be appreciated.
Thank you
Reddy
Found the issue,

Server vs CRP EBS R12.2 UAT
Hi all
EBS r12.2
OEL 6
1. we have new servers of CRP and UAT of installation.
2 we install all the required RPM based on the two servers based on the notes 1330701.1
3. after that, I cloned the instance of PROD on both servers of the CRP UAT.
4. cloning works very well on the CRP but gets the error on the UAT.
Is there a tool to compare the RPM of the two servers?
Thank you very much
JC
Hi JC,.
Not sure and I tried to check. But when I got from google, see the following blog:
