• Automation explore virtual SMU-1082

  I have just ordered a PXI system of NOR and want to start programming while I wait for delivery. I thought that I could create virtual devices SMU to do this, but I could be wrong in my understanding of the MAX program.  While I have used LabVIEW for almost a decade, I never needed to use "measurement and Automation Explorer."

  When I chose "create new" under "devices and interface" "Simules NOR-DAQmx..." ", I couldn't find the SMU-1082 chassis or the module(PXIe-8840) of base I will use.  Am I going about this all wrong?

  Hi Ron,

  Unfortuantely, you will not be able to simulate a chassis SMU or controller in MAX. The SMU chassis will automatically identify in MAX when you plug on your computer, while some of our former PXI chassis will have to manually identify. If you want to simulate a chassis, you can simulate a PXI chassis and put your modules SMU simulated in it.

  The good news is that you don't need to simulate a chassis in order to simulate a card. To simulate the 4304 to the MAX:

  1. Click devices and Interfaces
  
  
  2. Select create new...
  
  
  3. Select the simulated device NOR-DAQmx or modular Instrument
  
  
  4. You can search for 4304 and select the module.

  I will note, the SMU-4304 is first supported in our driver NOR-DAQmx 15.1.1. If you have an older version of DAQmx installed, the device does not appear as an option in MAX.

  Can someone tell me how to reset a diagram LabVIEW data acquisition card without using MAX Program?

  After the failure of a test, LabVIEW will leave the reverse PIN. Then, when I run the test again, it will continue to fail unless I have manually click on reset device button display in the image below.

  There is a Device.vi to reset DAQmx.  This will give you the same functionality the device reset to the MAX:

  

  If you don't want to reset the whole device, you can also set individual of High/Low or Tristate programmatically lines if you wish.

  Application:
  I have an application that generates and writes the analog data at 300 kHz slightly underneath.  Data generation and output take place every 14 ms (we'll call it who a 'block',) through an event EveryNSamples leave a timing sheet.  In each block, 4000 samples of analog data are generated and output to 6 of the 8 channels of analog output of the PXI-6733.  The output buffer is set to twice the block 4000 writing samples and pre-filled with 4000 zeros, so the output is always a block behind the data generated.  If a single block exceeds 14ms to generate and write on the analog samples, the output buffer will be against the wall and exit stop (regeneration is disabled.)  I recently needed to add more than 10 output channels, so I installed a second PXI-6733 map in the chassis and set up a second analog output task to write the second map.

  Problem:

  I wonder what would cause these erratic spikes in time it takes to DAQmxWriteRaw BIE called on the second card.  Is there a known issue with the help of 2 PXI - 6733 s in the same PXI chassis?  Could there be some sort of conflict of resources (not enough channels DMA, etc?)  The two report cards they have in DMA mode, and fill FIFO priority is set to NotEmpty.  The problem also occurs when the transfer mechanism is set to interruptions.

  Other Observations:
  I noticed the first edge of calendar corresponds to the point in the program to the location of loading the dll "nicesru.dll."  I can't find any information that features in this dll, and I don't know if it's a symptom or a cause.

  I also noticed that when an error occurs, I can't seem to stop and clear the tasks of production.  After trying to stop it and cancel all active jobs, keeps blinking the link on the PXI chassis light.  To reset, the only way is to go into solution of measurement and Automation Explorer and reset the second card 6733 manually (or use ResetDevice C calling).  There seems to be only the second PXI-6733, and it also happens when using the test panels in the MAX program.

  I was able to solve the problem by moving the PCIe card in the PC to another location.  I assumed the problem was with how bus PCIe are managed by the motherboard, or how the resources have been allocated to the cards in this particular niche.  Move the map on the slot 16 second x on the motherboard seems to have solved my schedule delays.

  Hi all, this is a question that I had a few times before in one form or another.

  I use a Boxcar Integrator (245 SRS is the interface) for my experience. I connect to it via GPIB using my Agilent GPIB/USB interface. My program runs in LabVIEW, and I used it successfully in the (very recent) past.

  However, sometimes if I get LabVIEW or something, some weird stuff starts past trying to connect to it. For example, after the LV exit and go back to the top and any attempt to run my program, it throws the error:

  Error 1073807339 has occurred in the CITATION read in OR_Boxcar_ReadAnalogPort3.vi-> OR_Boxcar_SimpleTest.vi
  
  Possible reasons:
  VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete.

  Which essentially means that he cannot connect for some reason or another (don't worry, I'm on the right GPIB address).

  So I go to equivalent NI MAX or Agilent (Keysight connection Expert), proceed to part communication from VISA to either and manually, connect with the machine. And it works! If clear my computer is communicating with the machine at this point, but not of LabVIEW.

  I'm trying to find a way to define a default value for the 'Maximum use rendered quality' box located on the dialog window export settings. Is it possible to programmatically set a value for this box (maybe in the call to exSDKGenerateDefaultParams)? Or would a value 'default' for this box be treated by creating a "Preset"?

  It is the exporter to use the setting provided by the host in exDoExportRec.maximumRenderQuality.  The exporter must define SequenceRender_ParamsRec.inRenderQuality and inDeinterlaceQuality to kPrRenderQuality_Max, if the value.

• Problems with the new Macbook pro 15' maxed out

  Here's a quick post about my experience so far with the new macbook pro. I just got a brand new fully maxed out in spec macbook pro 15 inch 1 to SSD 16 GB RAM AMD R9 370 m GPU (set to automatic switching is not always) and a 2.8 to 4 GHz i7. I turned on and set it up which was nice and took 2 minutes. Then experience decreased a little when I saw an EST 05:36 hours of battery life remaining to 94%. So I loaded 100% and it is still 60% of battery life announced and no program running that I literally just signed a brand new machine.

  Then I tried to use the migration wizard to import a backup of my iMac 5 k so I can do everything on this clone for my laptop. After having successfully connected (he told me if my password for time machine was incorrect or not) it froze and did nothing, continue did nothing.

  Then place had to call support, was a guy on the phone in 30 seconds and I unplug and restart the machine time, always that same question so I transferred to a guy with "more training". The new guy I could say knew a little more and knew that I knew how to set my password or if I walked in their properly for a bit but they all have been set for the same password just for this. I created a second admin account called "test" under his leadership, and when the migration assist froze on this account, he was surprised and proceeded to transfer me off.

  I preceded to restore fully the machine into thinking that my account setup is causing trouble with the migration assistant, and it turns out that the closure of that laptop it can only continue to 'download additional components', while that connected for 30 minutes so all last night was wasted, and now I guess he's got 5 left 12 hours to download original 'things '. Keep in mind that I can download 5 GB in one hour... After he wake up this morning and ending up where I left it last night :/ he says 84 hours go, now 72 and 51 and it is not updated even once in seconds, it took 20 minutes to 84 minutes to 51, it's literally a day 2 reset extravagance or what? Just to download it I can only imagine the actual plant until I can install my programs.

  The cost of the laptop was about $3600 but paid ~ $2900 after headphones were included and $250 off for delivery to students and other issues on the agenda of the process itself that is not my complaint, what happens, but sitting with a new camera and support useless just to ask me if I can use actually tomorrow at this price are unacceptable.

  I would like to continue using it for a while.

  I have an AJAX web application which is very sensitive the number of connections allowed by the browser. Bad things happen when the limit is set at the bottom: frozen screens, the uncommitted transactions, deadlocks, etc..

  In my opinion, there are different reasons for this.
  First reason could be a large amount of processes that are running in the background
  Theoretically, it could be possible that a process stresses the CPU and thus the performance of the laptop is slowing.
  A HARD disk problem can cause this kind of problems too.
  As you can see really hard to tell what could cause this problem.

  From my point of view, you should start by running processes.
  Use check the CPU in the Manager of tasks (tab CPU) while this problem occurs.
